Cloudbase at Carrock Fell - dodging the white room

The whole flight was maybe 3 hours (with a few top landings) so far too long for RUclips.
But here's a few minutes just to get a flavour!
8 - 12mph easterly on Carrock Fell, Cumbria, on Sunday 22 September 2024.
Cloudbase varied from 1,750ft to 1,900ft and we were scratching from the hillside up to cloudbase, pulling big ears to drop out and then going round again. Great fun!
At one point I went slightly more XC along the ridge and back but its too long for a video.
Big day out with the Cumbria Soaring Club and a lot of pilots there, as it had just opened. (It was restricted earlier in the year due to nesting birds.)

If you skip to 1.40 I start getting sucked up properly into the cloud and have to pull 'big ears' to sink out a little bit. Too many pilots around flying it's not safe to go up into the clouds. Plus visibility is terrible up there!
