Nice rig. I got mine lifted on a 5in l.k. but bought some spindles and leafs for more height (still pending on getting some coil springs) but my engine blew. Oh well more of an excuse to put a newer engine and slapping some 285s on the 18x9 wheels (making sure the gear goes to 4.10 maybe).

The actual contact patch width barely increases when airing down the tire, the greatest increase is in the length of the contact patch and that is what contributes the most to increasing the contact patch area. That being said, I look forward to watching more videos on the van.

This is rad! I’m a Jeep guy but this is a sweet rig, I’ve always wanted a smaller 4x4 van for overlanding.

The Astro and Safari were great powerful Mini-Vans when they first came out. The only drawback was the rear-wheel drive in the winter time was problematic in deeper snow or extreme weather conditions.

I'm looking at a rim and tire package for my 2001 Chevrolet astrovan same tire and wheel size as the video above. My question is with the -19mm offset does the sliding door rub on the wheel?

15x8 with 30x9.5 tires, I'm trying to figure out if they'll rub on the slider as well any information would be appreciated, before I commit to a tire and wheel package. Also was looking at hubcentric rings to avoid complications and vibrations.

My 2000 with mud and snow tires is so lazy even though the motor is in good shape . The 4.3 needs a turbo but also check the door for gear ratio , mine is the highest so I'm going to 70s instead of 75s and a harder compound in a 205 instead of a 235

    • @Ghandisgarage

my budys 2000 with 6" lift 31" tires and 3.42 gears moves really good. its faster than my 91 van on 31s with 3.73s.. i think you may have an issue if you find your van lazy on stock sized tires.
