@@dankeyes292 I've seen so many people who do have dogs that shouldn't as well. The Dogs are lucky to have you ! Imagine leaving your kids home while you go camping to avoid them getting a bump or bruise, shame on the Net Nanny's for calling you in
I worked for Veterinarians since my 3rd year of elementary school. Did my Animal Health Technology and Pre-vet until life took me in a different direction, but none of what you do is abusive to your dogs. They are loving the freedom you give them; they aren’t fragile apartment dwellers (like the complainant likely is). They are adventure seeking animals made for the wild; I applaud you for sharing that with them!
Every time I see your dogs running, I'm reminded of the decades I spent 4-wheeling around Tucson, Arizona. The moment I pulled off the asphalt, the dogs in the back of the truck knew it was their time now and they insisted (and I mean they INSISTED) it was time to let them jump out and run. They covered way more miles than I drove by staying ahead of the truck running from one side of the road and ways into the desert and back across the road to the other. They loved it. So when I watch your dogs, anyone who knows dogs can just look at them and know they are doing exactly what they are supposed to. That gives them purpose, which gives them joy. I smile to myself each time I'm reminded.
My dad and I have been having some of the best times of our lives, exploring the trails around Tucson. The new Bronco has created a venue for us to spend one on one time.
Reminds me of going up Redington’s Pass many times and down the backside of Mt. Lemon. Those dogs have never looked distressed. The worst I’ve seen is when Ed spoiled them with a little too much food 🤷♂️
Your free range dogs are a major part of our enjoyment. For the nannies out there; Matt’s dogs are working breeds, they need to run and explore to be happy and healthy. Reminds me of a sheep herding demonstration we attended and some of the dogs were old and struggling. The owner said they keep them working because the dogs are happier working than on a porch.
@@johnfarling1537 if you’re referring to the “dogs” as “others” 😂. Mark didnt make any assumptions. He does engage in an informative sentence structure which he starts with “for the nannies out there”… but he educating about dog breeds, not assuming what others think. Dude, we all like this show, why troll another man because you became defensive??? The effort people go through to TRY and point out a flaw in someone else astounds me.
Matt, I have had dogs all my 77 years of life and your dogs are having a blast! You do care for them and watch out for them each and every time that I have seen them in your videos. There will always be someone that "knows better" and likes to cause problems where ever they go. I know you are aware of this and can shrug this off. Just keep up the good work and I enjoy your videos with you and all your crew, including the dogs. Thanks for sharing with us. J.R.
If I was a dog living with MORR, I would be very happy. You give your dogs lots of adventure and they are living the free life. Thank you for sharing all your story’s with us. God bless you, your team and family.
When the video ended I thought to type the same comment but you bit at it, yes I will be a very happy dog too, we had 4 dogs when I was a kid and they were so happy to be outside dogs, running, free hunting free protein rabbits 🐇, armadillos, squirrels etc, etc. And obviously there was not internet so no social media so nobody complained lol.
Running free alongside the jeep - my dog would call that the best day of her life, no cruelty involved, 100 degrees or not. Always great camera work and editing - congrats on a great channel.
When I was a kid, we'd let the dogs run along side us on our 3 mile dirt driveway. The dogs loved it and they were fine. The idea that this is cruel is just a failure to understand the nature of a dog.
It never ceased to amaze me how some people are so unhappy with their own lives they waste precious resources to report someone like you...your dogs look like some happy healthy dogs. This is my first time seeing your RUclips but I can clearly tell ain't no animal cruelty happening here. I am leaving a like, a comment and a Smile =)
I am a dog person and have never once thought your dogs were mistreated. Quite the opposite, I think they are lucky that they get to run free and go for rides and go to the river. I have seen you give them bottled water while out on recoveries. Keep on keepin' on Matt you're doing nothin' wrong.
"I'm" considered a " dog person ". Anyone that thinks those dogs are abused doesn't know squat about dogs. You can tell by an animal's demeanor whether they are enjoying themselves, or, if they are being "forced to do something they don't want to do". These dogs have it made. Keep up the good work Matt and crew! You guys rock! ..... I mean " literally "!!!
I subscribe to about 30 different youtube channels, but I always get a big smile on my face when I get a notice of a new clip from the best channel on the internet. They are short enough that you never get bored with all the needless "fill" that some sites think they need,.... yet just long enough to satisfy. Thanks guys, keep up the amazing work, and thanks for easing back on letting Ed feed your dogs...... they're looking svelte. Can't believe the older one just hopped up into the back of the Banana.
I can't imagine watching a video and being upset about dogs running around playing. I bet those same people really would've been upset seeing WDs dog (rip) Macey out and about during his adventures. pardon me if I got her name wrong.
Back in the day dogs used to run around everywhere. I think it's much more cruel to make your dog stay your yard all day or even worse in some small room inside.
Matt being turned in is proof that not all people have beliefs that should be heard or entertained. Hopefully, the govt official receiving the call did an inspection on the complaintant’s animals.
Most people in this world believe in some form of invisible friend that is looking after them and these stories are logically incoherent, for instance "good" god who destroyed all life on earth according to the scriptures, etc. Usually services have to answer all calls. Another interesting observation is the comment with ad hominem in the thread got 10x the likes, while the logical one got 1x. How telling! How can anyone know if call is worth listening if they don't listen to it? True that dogs look happy, so it is a waste of time.
Been watching you for years now and I've always considered the dogs to be exceptionally lucky to be free to run, not taken out for 15 minute walks in some suburban wasteland. Those who "turned you in" are lacking substantially in a number of areas.
your dogs look happy as can be in every video. Watched you slow your pace for your dogs many times in your videos. People dont understand what working dogs that are out every day do and what they can endure. Working dogs are the true dog athletes on the dog world. Keeping peanut cool in that coat cant be easy and she is always smiling and down for the adventure. great videos great content
I enjoy it when the dogs (running ahead) appear to know where you should be going before you do. I am also pleased when poor Max gets included. Too bad about the busy body experts who complain.
I've seen ALL your videos and I Have NEVER seen anything that would make me distrust you with these dogs, NEVER. And I do have three dogs myself (Labradors), thanks for your uploads.👍

Mat I really enjoy your videos and a big part of why you stand out is the obvious respect and care you have for people and animals and the land. Your dogs are living their best lives.
I met Lady and without question she is a happy, friendly, well cared for dog. It's a shame people watch a 15 minute video and think they know way more than they really do. It's obvious how happy and well-cared for those dogs are!
Your dogs clearly live a happy, healthy, loving life. Was surprised (but then maybe not so much with people) that you have had animal cruelty calls on you guys. Don’t understand people these days! BTW I know all your reasons for taking the Banana make sense, but the Morrvair has to be the coolest off road rig I’ve ever seen. There’s just something about it!
The dogs always look extremely happy to me. I do sometimes cringe when they go somewhere they shouldn't but that's just dogs being dogs. Don't sweat the haters Matt!
I'm a dog lover and have had dogs in my family all of my life. One thing I can say for sure, is your three dogs are healthy, happy and well taken care of. Your dogs live in the Desert and have adapted to the environment just like the dogs in Alaska have adapted to the cold environment. Carry on Sir -----
I love how people see a small cross section of your life and feel qualified and even compelled to insert themselves based on what they think they see. You handled that with grace and dignity. I love that you take them everywhere with you and let them run around and have fun. To those who feel compelled to stick their nose where it doesn't belong, stay in your own convoluted world and let people live their best lives even though you choose not to. Mind your business.
Too funny providing the dog overview - I looked at the video and said to myself - damn those dogs are lucky and loved. Everybody has a perspective some are just bizarre/wrong/mean-spirited. Keep sharing we see the good in you and your family (and extended family Ed and the team). 🇨🇦❤️
Max and Lady both look like they're getting closer to healthy weights. Nice work. Not once did I ever think that these dogs were being mistreated since they're loved, well fed and cared for.
Wow, those dogs are happy. Working dog breeds are very diferent than apartment dwellers. Police dogs live for two things; work and chasing a tennis ball. Your dogs love your company, running in the desert, and going for a ride. Seems I remember somebody claimed you endangered a child, Lindsey. Wow, first she can hold her own...I would pity the fool that tried to hurt her! Being in public you are exposed to purview of some pretty ignorant people. Good luck and continued best wishes.
I've had Border Collies in our family my entire life, and I can say without a single doubt that those are happy dogs doing EXACTLY what they love to do the most. If you know anything about how to read a dog's body language, you can tell that they are happy, playful, and mentally stimulated every single time they're shown. You're doing good, Matt and co. Don't let the busybodies get under your skin.
Totally agree. We have been lucky to have many border collies as well. They love to participate in whatever we are doing and are pros at managing their heat. Please keep including them in your adventures as they clearly want to be there with you.
I love that one of the dogs, either Lady or Peanut, was dropping a deuce in the background of the animal cruelty talk. Your dogs look like they get to live a life that most dogs would thoroughly enjoy.
The only dogs that I could imagine that would not enjoy this kind of life would be cold climate dogs like huskies, Alaskan, malamutes, wolf dogs or similar, and realistically the only thing you need to change for those kinds of dogs to enjoy it is just do this up in Alaska or northern Canada
It'd be nice if when claims like this are so clearly bullshit the people doing the reporting have to apologize face to face with the people they reported.
I am not a dog person … even though I handled dogs when I lived in Tanzania. But I seriously don’t understand anyone complaining about your treatment of the dogs. They always look so happy and are enjoying your work and seems to think they are ( as they are ) members of your crew. If they run a head of you to a site they know what the job is and stops where there is a crashed/stucked car … I love to see them happy! But would not like to sit next to them after that swim. :)
City folk and Commenters that have never lived it, are quick to call out any perceived case of "cruelty" Now I have to get back to sheltering in place.
I was just thinking to myself while watching the video that these are some of the luckiest dogs, and than Matt talks about them. Why would people say anything about animal cruelty? These dogs are living the dream.
Because RUclips is a magnet for every busybody in the world. I watch some air plane and flying channels and it's incredible how many calls the FAA gets from people watching youtube flying videos and calling up the FAA complaining.
I'm a dog person, I love to see the dog's getting lots off free range, I look forward to seeing them and as some said they are a working breed and need the exercise. Animals adjust to their environment, they are loved and more than likely spoiled as well. From me in the UK 🇬🇧 love your vidios
I love watching your dogs run and have fun Matt. I would love to do the same thing, but living in a neighborhood in a bustling city is a far cry from living out in the desert, where cars and people aren’t a constant threat. Thank you for all the content and it’s extra special when we get to see the dogs having fun.
Like you said Matt, those dogs have been acclimated to the conditions and climate out there all their lives. It always makes me smile watching them have a ball when you take them with you!
Hey Matt, we run our Australian Shepard at Sand Hollow by the reservoir and have had people say that the dog will get over heated, as she is running through the shallows....(wow) ....sorry there are crazy people that look for fault in anything but who cares, right? Keep up the good work bud!
I still remember your video about rescuing a female Euro tourist stuck on a pitch-black road, could barely speak English, was terrified out of her mind, and wasn't sure if you were the rescuer or there to hurt her. Lady made all the difference, friendly and fluffy and promising the woman in dog language that all was well. As a single female who has been on the wrong road too many times while adventure traveling, I could relate to the sheer terror, and would have collapsed once I saw that beautiful dog. The dogs serve as wonderful introductions to you and your group. I have a working dog myself, and as you know, the common saying is, give them something to do, or they'll find a project of their own. Best wishes always to you and pups.
@@williamwallace9826 Looking for it. It was at least a year ago, maybe two, rental car, dark night, and she was so shaken they had to drive her back to her motel. Older lady with barely any English. Matt's search engine leaves a lot of be desired, but I won't quit. Will post when I find it.
I'm a big dog person and I've watched all of your videos and youve never done anything to make me think you were cruel to the dogs. I grew up in southern Utah with 4 dogs, they loved chasing after the truck on a dirt road
Those dogs seem happy as can be. When i first came across your channel admittedly i was a bit concerned on how close they would get when winching and flipping cars over. However i quickly realized how aware they actually are. Keep doing your thing Matt, those are some lucky pooches.
There's two types of people , those that want to be left alone and those that won't leave folk alone. I'm a dog handler in the uk and spend a lot of time sleeping off shift in my purpose built "dog van" in lay-bys etc during the day depending where I'm working . The times I've been knocked up by the police because some jobsworth busybody has reported dogs barking in a van clearly marked "Dog Unit" I've lost count . Your dogs have the best life a dog could wish for , you are always concerned about the heat and very careful , they get to run , swim everything a dog could wish for . These dogs wouldn't run like this or play like this unless they wanted to. Every time I watch your dogs run along side you it makes me smile. They are clearly happy and living the best life.
If you have been around animals long enough you can tell if they are happy or not. There isn’t enough editing in the world by a RUclipsr to make their animals look happy. He isn’t breaking any laws and doing his best to run a fair and clean operation and he takes good care of his family and his dogs and it is very noticeable. I understand haters are going to hate regardless of what you do. Thank you for the awesome content!
The problem is they aren't just complaining. They actively reported him! Some people need a hobby or something and worry less about what others are doing.
Anyone who has been around a border collie knows they have endless energy. A lot of high energy breeds get anxious when they can’t expel their energy. I like watching the dogs run and have fun.
I have two, and agree completely. I wish I could let mine run like that, they would love it ( high energy doesn't come close to describing them.) To the people complaining about the water bowl, mine also drink out of the bottle. You wouldn't even know anything about it if you didn't see him GIVING them water.
OMG, whoever turned you in are just jealous of your success! We are dog people and part of the enjoyment of your channel is watching your pups be pups and explore! Lady is definitely the pack lead 😇. When we visit family in Montana, we let our pup run about at the ranch! You guys are great dog owners!
nah it's not because anybody is jealous. A lot of people, especially in cities, dont really understand how outdoor dogs operate. They see dogs off-leash, panting, running around, etc and think really ignorant thoughts because they just don't know any better. The people calling animal control most likely really believe they're helping the dogs. For the record, if I were to die tonight and be reincarnated i'd love to be one of Matt's dogs. They are super happy, trained well, and have the freedom to be real dogs.
I like dogs and in my 75 years I've found that there are always some people that just make trouble for others, reporting them for imagined problems. Your tree touches their fence, your water seeps into their garden, you feed your dog too much/not enough, blah, blah. It's clear to me that your dogs are having a great time and they are also the kind of dogs that have a lot of energy and need to work it off. I'm always impressed with how much fun your dogs have and that you treat them well. If they need a drink you make sure they get it. SO, good for you guys!
"The more people I meet,..... the more I love my dogs". To each their own, but I wont walk another step on this earth, with out a doggo by my side. Top tier work per usual. Happy adventures out there all.
I'm a dog person since the early sixty's, those dogs are having the time of their lives. I've been watching only a couple months but I only wish my dog would watch your dogs. We got sixty acres of woods in eastern N.C. so she's happy. Thanks Matt, you guys put on a great show. Always a pleasure.

Hubby and I often comment how lucky Peanut, Lady, and Max are to be able to be so involved with their family business. Peanut especially seems to hang on Matt's every word, and I wouldn't be shocked if she started barking orders to the crew! We love the footage of all 3 dogs running free to explore and "lead" the way to the troubled vehicle. They seem to especially enjoy wading in the water! Keep filming the dogs!
Matt, your one of the kindest and most thoughtful dog people. I love the freedom you give your dogs, always care for them with water, keeping cool in the river, good exercise and love. Sadly we live in a time with a bunch of Karen's who can't mind their own business. Love your channel and how you work so nicely with your dogs, team and family. Regarding the Banana, considering it does 60% of the work do you think you will build a "Banana 2"?
My goodness, I wish I could be as active with my dogs and take them out to run in the outdoors like you do. Those are well cared for and loved dogs by all the team.
As always I do enjoy watching your recoveries with your dogs. I've had dogs for 30+ straight years, currently 4 terriers. It's super important that they get out like yours do with you. I've never seen a single reason in any of your vid's to think anything BUT that you are responsible dog owner.
Thank you so much to everyone on this channel that does all the camera work, you guys are incredible and we wouldn't be able to watch without you. Thank you!
clearly your doing it right matt it shows that the jealous folks can only hate your good side and your really showing the good side of you learning how everything works.
I absolutely love what you do with your dogs man, when i got my pups a couple years ago, my goal was to have them trained enough so i could let them run beside us on the trail and we achieved that. I even tell them to "load up" when they get tired. You are a great influence and dog owner. They look well loved! Dan Alberta, canada.
Those dogs look like their happy to me. Every where I go my dog goes wooded places, hot sandy places, even frozen snowy places. There hasn't been a trip I've made without him. And trust me when I say all at free will. He runs, hunts, digs, and lounges all on his own, but of course he's not alone because were with each other. To the one's who call this animal cruelty, get bent!

That’s a lot of words about what you think others think.

You know Ed is feeding those dogs lots of treats off the camera.
@carsten Andersen my name is carsten as well spelt the same I’ve never came across anyone with exact same spelling very cool

Im glad im not the only one who found that funny lol
Running free alongside the jeep - my dog would call that the best day of her life, no cruelty involved, 100 degrees or not. Always great camera work and editing - congrats on a great channel.
Agreed! 100%
Those dogs lead a great life. Tell the karens to PO.
City Slickers don't know a thing about smalltown life.
When I was a kid, we'd let the dogs run along side us on our 3 mile dirt driveway. The dogs loved it and they were fine. The idea that this is cruel is just a failure to understand the nature of a dog.
@@richardgray9491 and little about dogs
It never ceased to amaze me how some people are so unhappy with their own lives they waste precious resources to report someone like you...your dogs look like some happy healthy dogs. This is my first time seeing your RUclips but I can clearly tell ain't no animal cruelty happening here. I am leaving a like, a comment and a Smile =)
You win RUclips for the month!
Them dogs are happy and lucky to have so much room to run around it and constant company of Matt and Co.
It's cruel to not run your dogs like that. It's good for their bodies and mind. Just ask the dogs.
Agreed. Those dogs are happy running. I've never seen the dogs dragging like they where exhausted. They always seem to be having a great time.

All you have to do is look at those dogs and you know they are Happy, well fed and Loved. Some people just need to get out more.

Your dogs look like they get to live a life that most dogs would thoroughly enjoy.
it was very fitting for the situation. i laughed and laughed :))
😂😂😂 giving their opinion of the animal cruelty claims.
Best comment!
I thought the exact opposite... I always note how happy and content the puppers look...
I'm a dog person, I love to see the dog's getting lots off free range, I look forward to seeing them and as some said they are a working breed and need the exercise. Animals adjust to their environment, they are loved and more than likely spoiled as well. From me in the UK 🇬🇧 love your vidios
What I appreciate about Mike is that he is so calm and solution minded. His family and crew all naturally follow the example.
I love watching your dogs run and have fun Matt. I would love to do the same thing, but living in a neighborhood in a bustling city is a far cry from living out in the desert, where cars and people aren’t a constant threat.

American shepherds are meant to run in those conditions, thats what they're bred for and why they became so popular in Australia
