Unfortunately I grew up to be a Mesa fanboy. It's just "my sound", I can't help it. However after opening my Quad Preamp.. yeah, they have quite a peculiar way to do things, to say the least. It looks like some amateur did random repairing on that, but I think that most of the crap I've seen is stock (let alone a deliberate ground loop that is there for apparently no reason). I just inspected it for self-learning purposes and I ended up fixing the reverb circuit that never actually worked since I bought it used 15 years ago. At least It got reverb now and I'm satisfied of the time spent learning :). "Can't wait" to service my Strategy 500 too...
These are amazing amps!! I have two Simult 295 amps in perfect working condition. One i bought new in 1991. I'm curious how much this service cost is. How can I contact you? Where are you located?
"These are amazing amps!!" Yes, but not in the way you think they are. "I have two Simult 295 amps in perfect working condition." No you don't. You may believe that to be the case. "One i bought new in 1991. I'm curious how much this service cost is." Like any intelligent tech who has been burned by idiots, he charges by the hour." How can I contact you? Where are you located?" He's in Memphis. But he has repeatedly made quite clear that he does not take on Mesa's as they are a horror show(this one is a one-off for a friend). Good luck! Alan Berlin
And to to think I nearly bought a Mesa, Went with Soldano and never regretted it, thanks for posting Lyle.
You are just the man
They need some new slogans, At what price? Such is the cost! Every day is Halloween when you own a messa !

In all fairness, it came out of the factory half done.
I have a question about a different amp, Is the Jet City JCH20H worth buying? I found one for 350.00
Ok. The original components makes me ask why?
Magical thinking!
What do you mean?
Snake oil. People put those gigant caps as tone caps in their guitars because they believe it makes a difference...

Since you also play with an HX Stomp, have you seen that Black Lion Audio offers Helix upgrades, is it worth it in your opinion?
Ah, the Mesa tax: the tax Mesa owners pay for the joy of owning a piece of Mesa 'engineering'.
