Yall vibing to Vinland Saga's opening was so good. The song IS really emotional and fits the tone of not just the op, but the anime itself. Plus the music video has great visuals that really make it seem like its own anime video.

The creator of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure(Hirohiko Araki) is very well known for his love of music and naming a lot of his characters, and their stand powers after musicians and songs. He's very into Western music. Usually the JoJo endings pay homage to that

What’s cool to me is that I Want You was used as Savage Garden is an Australian band. Actually, Araki choosing those songs because he was listening to them at the time he wrote those parts can’t be entirely right because I Want You didn’t come out until May 27th 1996 and Distant Dreamer didn’t come out until 2008.
I mean, reacting to the Jojo EDs and grouping them under anime music feels kinda disingenuous, given that those songs have been around for ages and weren’t changed at all…

I highly recommend the opening of parasite "let me hear" by the band "Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas", it pretty much peaked in its own genre in my point of view. You guys should really check it out!

The My Hero op was Bokuraho by Eve who you've heard before on these for Kaikai Kitan from Jujutsu Kaisen. He's an artist who definitely deserves his own video. Great songs of his include: Dramaturgy, How to Eat Life, Last Dance, Nonsense Literature, Bouto, Taikutsuwo Saienshinaide, and much more. I discovered him after hearing the opening to JJK, and he's become my favorite artist ever since. He has a very unique voice and style to his music, like the tell-tale guitars he uses in most of his songs. I love all of his music
Eve is genuinely one of the most talented artists I’ve ever heard. I hope he does either the op or ed for JJK S3!

I really appreciate how open minded you all are. I'm old enough to remember how niche or even mocked Japanese music was online in nerdier spaces for years, and how virtually unheard of it was to meet people offline who listened to it, knew about it, etc. Seeing you all embrace the music as *music* is really heartwarming. Also I had no idea about Stray Kids! What a nice find. ETA: "Silence is musical" is a GREAT quote, and reminds me of what Akira Yamaoka (the composer for the original Silent Hill games) once said: Silence is also a sound.
I'm so happy you took my advice on the Jojo ending Teji, cause their faces were priceless. Your set up was super smooth too, they didn't know what was coming.
But also for context, Jojo characters are just constantly vogueing all the time, not just in that credits sequence. It's kinda their thing actually to never be standing in a boring pose. One of the most prominent examples of this over the top movement being the notorious Torture Dance scene. For anyone interested you can just search Jojo Torture Dance and it's the clip with 46 million views...

Happy for the Stray Kids love after the first song! If you want to deep dive them further, for a wider range of sound I'd recommend any mix of Hellevator, Side Effects, Venom, Thunderous, Scars, Slump, The Sound, and FAM! They also have sub-unit and solo songs for all the members, but the ones I listed are them as a full group haha.
I just binged all of these videos and simply couldn't stop smiling. Watching everyone's reactions to this music that I've found so entertaining for so long, brought so much joy to my day. Keep it up, all of you!

Something that I’ve always said is that SSTP is the Japanese equivalent of LINKIN PARK, as someone who grew up listening to them. My first introduction to SSTP was Mukanjyo and have grown to be become one of my favourite bands. The song I think really links the two for me is red (banana fish ed 2). It’s genuinely amazing

Also for the note of Freek'n You being one of the ending songs for Jojo: The original plan was to have Gangster's Paradise as the ending, but the author of the manga personally picked Freek'n You instead (like you mentioned) so that's what ended up making the cut

I love your reactions! I do lowkey wish you reacted more to the actual anime visuals with the openings because I believe the songs (while the MVs are great) are intended to be paired with the anime visuals, and I think without them you can take away from the entire experience.
Black Catcher is absolutely fucking incredible. I love it. Inferno is a fantastic song and it instantly became iconic to the series. It even gets played at the end of season 2.

I actually have a very intense history with Tower of God lol Back in May 2020 when I started reading it the Manhwa had about 480 chapters or so and I BLASTED through this in less than a week. I was basically consuming the Manhwa every single minute outside of work for a straight week and I had a damn blast :D

Great vid again! Highly recommend either Kaibutsu by YOASOBI (Beastars S2 OP) or Idol by YOASOBI (Oshi no Ko OP). Ayase is such a talented composer and i feel like there would be a lot to appreciate for you guys from a musical perspective. Plus they just go hard.

They have AMAZING songs should you guys ever want to get into them. It's not the first time a kpop group has done an anime op either. "Beelzebub"'s -- Baby U by MBLAQ and "Blue Exorcist"'s (Take Off by 2PM).

A couple songs from recent and ongoing anime you should react to are "Nero" by Sou, it's the opening for dead mount death play (full version if possible), "work" by millennium parade (the opening for hells paradise, the art in the opening version is beautiful). Aside from those the openings for overlord are bangers too, same for psycho pass they're awesome.

The group that did Top for Tower of God is called Stray Kids. They did the ending as well. They are one if the groups that pulled me into K - POP. Thise 2 songs are apart if their Japanese release.

A lot of people dont realize this choice, but in Inferno, the part with the beat drop where there is that rippling sound and then a singular high pitched like ping, that is probably trying to mimic the sound of a pin being pulled on a bomb or grenade.
The jojo ending was everthing I hoped it would be. Hope you show them the others at some point. Also! Oshi No Ko's op and ed are both pretty fire, the full versions especially!

You guys were talking about spontaneous combustion, where people just started burning out of seemingly nowhere. I'm not sure if they ever figured out what happened but I did watch where they tested to see if a human body by itself could really keep on burning using a pig carcass (cuz the composition is similar to ours) and yeah, once the fire got going the fat and stuff would burn until the carcass was ash. One of the weird things about the phenomenon was that the fire wouldn't really spread from the person either. Sure, if they were sitting in a chair, the chair burnt down too, but the fire wouldn't really spread beyond the person to burn down the house.

I hope Teji got the right details on Tower of God. The Tower is a supermassive structure with trillions of different species living on each floor, almost like different worlds from each other. The true tower is inside of these worlds, of sorts.
The young boy is unique, due to him coming from outside of the Tower, making him an irregular participant of the Tower. As far as people in the tower are aware, there should be no one living outside of the tower. Although, irregulars across thousands of years have appeared before. Like the King of the Tower, Zahard. He is monstrously powerful, living at the top floor, 139, where the shinsu/divine water is most dense. Very few beings can handle its pressure. Shinsu exist all over the tower in small doses in lower floors, and high density in higher floors(At floor 20, it almost crushed a Regular tower participant). It doesn't exist outside of the Tower. Because there is already Air. In the tower, beings can't breath without it.
