Okay, Sarah. Since you've mentioned this subject twice recently, I have to say something. Please, please, PLEASE make a found footage horror movie someday!!! I think you would really do it justice. I know it would be a major undertaking, but with your meticulous attention to detail, I'm sure it would be epic! Please consider it?
@andreaberg1735 The Wailing is amazing and kinda similar to Exhuma. Some other good ones are The Call, Gonjiam, Bedevilled, The Thirst, Train to Busan (a classic) and if you like horror on a bit more psychological/thriller side, i highly recommend the revenge trilogy (Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr Vengance, and Lady Vengance), Memories of Murder, Chaser, I Saw The Devil, Forgotten, some of these are like soul crushing btw lol. If you want to try horror k-dramas, Sweet Home, Beyond Evil and Strangers from Hell are really good, and for Asian Horror movies in general, Noroi the curse, Cure, Pulse, Shutter, As the gods will and Incatation are pretty good
I Saw the TV Glow is my favorite movie of the year. I watched it three times in one week and I don’t even know how to explain how it made me feel. it’s so beautiful and emotional and i need more. i love the artistic choices and the coloring is so fantastic. The dry/flatter dialogue works for me and adds to the whole idea of not really living your own life
Not a movie but have you seen the Horror TV show FROM ? I just got hooked on this show, binged the two seasons in three days and the third season is coming next month - I think you’d like this show! Criminally underrated, if it was on Netflix everyone would be talking about FROM. Even if you don’t cover it on your channel, enjoy it on your own time cause it’s SO compelling!
During Exhuma, they used real rituals and had a real Shaman on set. Some things even went a little sideways, apparently, and the real Shaman had to step in. I'm hoping for sequels with the characters since it felt almost like a world building to expand into future films.
As a gender questioning 34 year old, I Saw the TV Glow was one of the most horrifying movies I've ever seen. I understand it won't be for everyone, but it really left me reeling about whether or not I was being the most authentic version of myself. This idea that there is still time, but it's finite, you do have to act, made me want to cry. I'm so glad you liked it, it was such an important film for me personally!
Exhuma is on my watchlist already! Is it bad that I absolutely cannot remember what happens that's unbelievable in FROGMAN? I watched it a few months back LMAO.
sarah plsss plsss you need to watch ‘disappear completely’ (2022) is a mexican horror movie and few movies have genuinely terrified me as much as this one is about supernatural and witchcraft but i swear that fear stayed w me for a long time !!!
I think I just went into I saw the tv glow wanting it to have more of a channel zero first season vibe but it was devastating and is still making me think days later
A fun video and a really nifty concept. These little movies can sometimes provide tremendous enjoyment, (admittedly, most do not), and the joy that comes from finding them 'cause big studios are not shoving the trailers down your throat on you tube constantly.
The frogman was a surprisingly great movie! I really liked the build up of the character dynamic and at times it was actually so funny. Great creature feature that really ramped up at the end!
I Saw the TV Glow may not have a lot of direct horror scenes per se, but if you relate to it's themes it has some of the most crushing existential horror I've ever seen in a film
I saw the tv glow has me in a chokehold and it was an instant favorite that I will be constantly revisiting! The final scene is so guttural especially when it’s contextualized within the allegory of trans identity but can be easily applied to any marginalized identity!
I cried. And walked out feeling different. And I was really upset someone refused to see it with me and was probably a sign they weren't really meshing with me, given we both shared a lot of strange and unique film interest.
hi!! i like watching your videos, it's so entertaining to talk and review horror movies or news :)) my favorite type/sub-genre of horror movies is found-footage too. i feel like the reason why i personally love found-footage (horror) movies is the fact that it seems to be more realistic than the non-found-footage horror movies. it feels like we're actually interacting with the characters and experiencing the horrors in the movies. idk how to explain that well lol.
I'm a Terror Vision subscriber and they just announced a deluxe bluray of Frogman this weekend that we'll be getting! Looks cool, can't wait to get it!
i think i saw the tv glow was more existential horror, which deeply unsettled and upset me on my first watch (im enby) it subverted my expectations, soundtrack was killer, and the planetarium monologue lives in my brain rent free
Am I the only person that didn't love I saw the TV Glow? 😂 I mean I didn't hate it but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping to based on all the hype 🤔 😅. I'm definitely going to watch Frogman, didn't know about that one 👍
I felt the same way! Still bummed that I ended up not liking it, I wish I could see what others are seeing. It’s an incredible message but I didn’t love the execution, and the tone of the film felt (for me) indecisive and confusing throughout
With a found footage movie, I'm skipping any scenes that take place in the van. You know what I mean. They spend 20-30 minutes just talking *ish in the van while they drive to their destination.
I Saw the TV Glow is in my top 3 of the entire year. Not just in horror. I love the way it tackles trans identity in such a subtle way, as well as media connectivity and how nostalgia can be amazing but also terrifying.
As a trans woman, it's sneakily become one of my favourites of all time. It gave me the courage to finally come out to my parents because the horror of what can happen if you don't live as your authentic self hit me so hard. Literally a life-changing movie for me
Exhuma and I Saw the TV Glow are both part of my top 5 of 2024 so far. I adore them! If you haven't watched it yet, I'd recommend The Vourdalak. This movie has got a lower budget, very, well, personal artistic choices and is overall a delight. I don't remember the latest time I laughed throughout a movie like this!
Sarah, I need your help. I saw a trailer for an upcoming movie awhile back, I can't think of the name and I can't seem to find even the trailer anymore, but it basically looked like The Strangers, only at a Diner. This waitress is alone working at a diner for whatever reason and there's some Strangers-like people outside trying to get in. Have you seen anything about this?

@@shawnthompson940 although predictable, I found myself just enthralled with how it all played out. I don’t think I might watch it again anytime soon, but probably in the future. It is triggering to say the least. I’m a mom so, you can imagine.
I'm really glad you like I Saw The TV Glow 😊. ISTTG is a transgender allegory so I'll say this; it has a lot more horror in it if you're a trans person lol. It's basically an allegory for trans people who don't know they're trans, and when they find out they are trans they repress it and stay in the closet. Sometimes they never come out and thus never live as the true them ever. The horror is that potentially happening to someone. Maddy is so adamant about trying to get Owen to come out and be her true self because she knows how painful staying closeted is. That's why there's the hopeful message written on the street that says "there's still time.". It was a message to Owen but also all closeted trans viewers. Us older trans people are often wrongfully told a lot, (sometimes from other trans people unfortunately.), that we're too old to transition. Like "24 is too old and there's no point in trying to transition because your native puberty has already run it's course.". (Not true btw, I started transitioning at 24 and I'm now 32 and pass as a cis woman.). A lot of trans people feel like they can't transition due to how hostile society is to us (and other factors) so there's this pervasive fear that we'll never be able to live as the true us and we'll die still identifying as a gender that brought us great pain. Sorry for the wall of text lol 😅 but it's a roundabout way of saying this movie definitely has more horror in it if you're trans.
I watched this phycological thriller called The Luring that I really liked. At first I thought it was just going to be some low budget indie film but I liked how weird and unsettling it is. I don't think it's for everyone but that's why I really liked it. Super creepy.

I feel you Jay. The movie was fun, it had heart at times but I felt empty by the end. Kinda like what now even with the potential for future characters, I’m still tryna figure out why. And like Savage the jokes were 50/50 for me but it was still fun, weird experience 😂
I feel like I saw the tv glow is far from a horror movie if you never dealt with the problems they represent for the people there. I feel like it's a huge drama movie, with small horror elements. It wasn't a bad movie, but a bad HORROR movie.

I saw the TV glow is such a great film, but in no way a horror even in the slightest. Not even the trailer makes it seem that way. And even Jane said themself that they weren’t intending to classify it as that. It’s still so good, amazing visuals, and an incredible soundtrack
It’s ultimately pretty subjective but for me I Saw the TV Glow is absolutely one of the most effective horror movies I’ve seen in a while. I don’t find myself scared when watching horror movies, pretty much ever, and ISTTG isn’t an exception to that but its much closer than most other horror movies get. Especially during the monologue scene and right after it, it really got to me in an existential way that something terrible was about to happen. And the more overt moments of horror throughout the movie will also stick with me for a long time because of how much I enjoy them conceptually. If anything I’d say ISTTG is what I’ve been craving from horror for a long long time, something enigmatic and dreadful and conceptual rather than a tangible sense of terror. Bit of a ramble but ye I love this movie and I really want more horror like it
I definitely think it’s a film where the horror is dependent on relating to the experiences of the characters (in this case, being trans or queer in general). I watched it with my cishet dad and he didn’t see what there was in it to be horrified by, but as a trans person I was genuinely shaken to my core by it, and have not been able to get it out of my head since. It’s not a jumpscare/gore/supernatural horror, but one of slow existential dread and the terror of seeing yourself in your worst moments, reflected back from the screen. Definitely not for everyone, but every trans person I know who’s seen it was very deeply effected by it
I saw the TV glow was an amazing experience and the first movie I saw by myself in theatres ( you made me feel comfortable to go by myself because some movies need a theatre experience) and it was just such a surreal and raw experience. The queer themes in the movie and experience were so beautiful to see and in a way it was very cathartic to see. I am so glad you liked it.
Yesterday I watched the movie "Visher"; just because it was there haha. Best to go without knowing much; and it started good, but then.... I enjoyed it because they tried and the bad became funny. curious if anyone else have seen it and your thoughts about it? "I watch the TV Glow' I did enjoy but had to watch it a night I was not too much ADD.. Not a horror movie to me but a decent movie, and one that stays in you head for a bit after. The other ones I need to watch and "Body Mind Spirit" I have a feeling I either will love it even though it's not that good, or hate it. And saw "Humane" yesterday too: very fun movie, loved it!
Agreed that "I Saw The TV Glow" is an excellent drama (loved the characters) with horror elements. Also agree that it could have used more horror. Exhuma really delivers on being so freaking original and surprising. It also did a great job of exposing US viewers to new cultural horrors. Love that part of it. Will have to give "Mind, Body, Spirit" a look. Was looking forward to "Frogman" and it left me VERY disappointed. I liked what they were doing but it just never got beyond creepy to terrifying the way the best FF movies do.
btw if you're trans and see i saw the tv glow just be aware you're gonna be like. . . stunned after it ends. it can be described as a trans story and it's been hitting trans people really fucking hard.
Mmmmh yes frogman fucks Really beeneanjng to watch i saw the tv glow is it streamjng anywhere? It was to small of a film i guess for my theatres nearby so i couldnt watch it
Both actors in I Saw The Tv glow are great actors. Their characters are technically missing their insides and are buried underground so maybe that’s why their deliveries seemed disconnected. It was a part of the story

Have you seen any of the found footage Hell House movies? I liked them.
Pretty sure she has talked about these in her “favourites” videos
@@janeenright8450 oh nice! I'll have to go back to see. I can't remember. Lol
You have an upward defection of your voice at the end of your sentences. I like it. It sounds like Jillian from family guy.
Exhuma was great!
and so is slipknot
I saw the TV glow is my favorite movie of the year so far!
I loved I Saw the TV Glow, I had no idea what to expect going into it and it was an amazing ride. I thought about it for days after.
Devil and The Descent are mis-alphabetized. I’m kinda ocd.
I loved some aspects of i saw the tv glow but i feel like overall it was wasted potential
Your kettlebell looks like a sand or cement filled vinyl, hers is a cast iron one, easily 40-45 pounds for the size
SLIPKNOT!!
TV Glow has been on my watchlist for a while now, I really need to watch it soon but I’m so worried it’s overrated
I liked what they were doing but it just never got beyond creepy to terrifying the way the best FF movies do.
btw if you're trans and see i saw the tv glow just be aware you're gonna be like. . . stunned after it ends. it can be described as a trans story and it's been hitting trans people really fucking hard.
finally
Mmmmh yes frogman fucks
Really beeneanjng to watch i saw the tv glow is it streamjng anywhere? It was to small of a film i guess for my theatres nearby so i couldnt watch it
Both actors in I Saw The Tv glow are great actors. Their characters are technically missing their insides and are buried underground so maybe that’s why their deliveries seemed disconnected. It was a part of the story
Women King!
Hey 👋 Sarah 🌈🌹👼🏻👼🏿🦋💜💘🩷💋🦋🎃
I saw the TV Glow is probably my favorite film of the year so far.
You a metalhead?
Numetal 🤪
@@PossessedbyHorror I like Slipknot, Drowning Pool, Godsmack etc..as well as being a huge thrash metal fan obviously. Keep up the great content here on RUclips!
Korn and SOAD are my fave bands!
Korn is really great. @@PossessedbyHorror
@@PossessedbyHorror you should check out this band called Chat Pile! They're sludgey but very inspired by Korn, Sepultura, and other Nu-Metal bands. They do a lot of horror themed songs, most of them are original stories, but "Pamela" is written from the perspective of Pamela Voorhees
god i really tried to love frogman, but the main character was unbearable. the last hour saved it tho
i hate these but i appreciated the advice to skip 30 minutes of gonjiam. i put that movie off due to the beginning. i still dont like that movie but if i sat and watched the 30 minutes of nothing but drinking and being stupid i wouldve gotten even more mad
