They’re throwing those tosses like it’s nothing!! 😱 and the way they got the gold flags was SO AMAZING props to the choreographer and the guardians! I hope my highschools at least half of this talent
I went on tour with Boston in 2017. I watched this guard practice, such a talented group of kids. This is why they are DCI guard champions two years in a row.
This is amazing! Congrats on winning the colorguard award at finals. I just have to say that you guys are moving and doing all this hard work which is amazing!
I really gotta know how you guys do that 45 and a half when the whole band kicks in. You guys seem to come in with your flag work and hop up on 1, down 2, comes around 3, flat 4, and you release on 7 and catch on 10 (approximately, I don’t know y’all’s counts). I’ve got the general motion and work down before that, but I don’t have the faintest idea how the heck you guys release to do that toss. I feel like if I tried to toss it more often that I’d eventually figure it out, but I’m not trying to break windshields and windows. Lots of love from a color guard girl! You guys are amazing!!
@@BossKS718 Wow I've never even heard of what a guard martini is. I'm fine at replicating the initial motions, but when I go to release it, it doesnt feel right and doesn't necessarily spin right
Throughout the video whenever you tossed I kept on thinking “Why is he tossing so far out and how is it coming back?” And then I heard the wind and realized lol. This is sooo cool!
Brilliant! Absolutely mesmerizing. Your flag and rifle work were amazing. Also, I agree with others about giving props to the choreographer. It must have been so much fun fielding that show.
I love how y'all were complaining about the props cause we had ladders in our last year's show in my highschool and everyone said that it was the devil himself in those ladders and people fell off them lmaoo (no one got seriously injured) also AMAZING FLAG AND RIFLE WORKKKK I can barely toss a regular 1 and a half 45 smh
I think your instructors and designers are from Carolina Crown right? I believe Crown’s guard instructor left after 2016 because he was getting more money from Boston and many of the actual members switched too. You can tell there are a lot of similarities between Crown’s guard up to 2016 and Boston’s from 2017 on.
omg your better then me I think its bc you have been doing it for a long time and I have been doing it only for 4 years now but can you do a tutorial about how to do the tosses you did in this video
Yea my school color guard does use them either we rarely do weapons. I just got used to using gloves after using them for winter guard and I get the opportunity to learn weapons from a open class dci Corp
I’m a freshman and I’m going to audition for the color guard at my school next year if anyone has any tips for me I would really appreciate it because I want to make the team sooo bad and I have a question do you need to have flexibility in order to make the team because I’m really don’t have that cause I want to audition for the dance team but when I realize that you have to had flexibility I backed out cause I knew that I wasn’t going to make that team and then that’s when I realized that they had color guard and for me that seemed more fun so I am hopeful that I can make the color guard next year. PLEASE leave me any tips for making color guard or anything that will help me feel more capable of making the team
Always smile unless they tell you otherwise. Count for yourself (always!!! dont wait for others to count for you and it doesn't always have to be out loud) and count for your teammates (whenever you can, they may be stuck somewhere). Just count!!! Take corrections and criticism with a love- filled and open heart. Stay out of drama!!! Practice. Practice. Practice. Ask for help if you're lost don't let them go on until you are sure of the work and that you CAN and will figure it out later. If you fall or hurt yourself or you're about to give up, cry if you need to, sit out if you need to, breathe if you need to, eat if you need to, sleep if you need to lol but don't you dare stay down there you better get up and try again because there are teammates that believe in you and audiences that are waiting to clap for you and trophies that want to be held by you. If you truly put in effort and time your coach, teammates and yourself will see it and really appreciate you and be proud of you. BUT DON'T FORGET THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!!!! Have fun and enjoy yourself. From someone who went from the lowest in her guard (had to audition twice 😥) to 1st lieutenant (leader right after the captain 😁)
most guard even world class groups don't require much flexibility but I would recommend just getting comfortable with your body and movement and really just perform what your doing even during practice. Spintronix is a great youtube channel to check out that has a ton of beginner guard content. But if you plan on doing guard for awhile even after high school I would recommend working on flexibility but it is absolutely not a requirement when auditioning.

Imagine being the best guard EVER and having this much fun, too. Wow.

Do you have a time stamp I could probably help
Tommy R sure do! It’s the toss at 1:21
It’s a reverse martini into a 45, I really don’t know how to describe how to do it in writing.

it’s a wind up 45 look it up
Is it just me or does the drum line hitting the rim of their drums just hit different
GUYS I CAN’T EVEN EXPRESS MY HAPPINESS- I LOVE THE WORK SO MUCH
Dizzy watching...great vid...
Throughout the video whenever you tossed I kept on thinking “Why is he tossing so far out and how is it coming back?” And then I heard the wind and realized lol. This is sooo cool!
Flag work is INSANE wtf
Very good work, also appreciate the very smooth cuts🙏🙏😂

Ethan Davis because you recognize that guard will always be superior to the toot toot menaces
TitaniumDragon Lol I personally wouldn’t go that far but this is still an awesome video!
@@dweeblekeneeble6332 lol flag goes spin spin sorry I like making music
Omg, how clean are your tosses 😮👌
My BD and JV and Varsity winter guard instructor worked with y’all on Goliath you even practiced at our high school and slept there I think haha 😂
Much more entertaining than football!

You need a better stabilizer.
omg your better then me I think its bc you have been doing it for a long time and I have been doing it only for 4 years now but can you do a tutorial about how to do the tosses you did in this video
i miss marching season so much
Yall get gloves?! My guard doesn't use them
What class are you in? I didn’t use gloves when I was in middle school because we didn’t do anything that was high or use weapons
Yea my school color guard does use them either we rarely do weapons. I just got used to using gloves after using them for winter guard and I get the opportunity to learn weapons from a open class dci Corp
My high school uses weapons, but we don’t use gloves. Do they help prevent you from popping blood vessels?
Bitch what a goal !!! Have fun at the field and actually won best color guard .....

Oh and I almost forgot I'm not at all flexible till this day 😂 don't worry you got this!
