I am quite impressed with some of the photos you made. Many photographers who have used pinhole cameras for years would be proud of those results. My favorites are of the tools. Very cool images and creative ideas.

Great video. I used to have a 4x5 large format pinhole. Sold it years ago because it got too expensive to shoot sheet film. After watching your video the first time I looked into getting a medium format pinhole. And being a fellow Canadian it turns out the same company you got yours from was the best deal in town. Just got it in the mail today and it came with a 35mm adapter too so it is very versatile. It looks and feels so nice. Very premium feel to it. I will probably buy a second one in a different colour wood. They are beautiful to look at as well as shoot with. I will probably start my first roll this weekend.

I've done quite a few digital pinhole photos and I'm hoping to get a film pinhole camera for Christmas.

I love pinhole photography. You did a great job being your first time. Remember that pinhole cameras have a great depth of field, so having something in the near foreground makes for an interesting photo. I’d love to see more of your pinhole photography.

As you get more used to previsualizing what the camera is going to see you'll begin to love it more and more. It really helps I think with normal viewed compositions with standard cameras. I enjoy the zen aspect of using it. The silence in nature especially.

Kicking up the dirt was a brilliant idea! The last time I tried pinhole, I was using a camera made out of chocolate. Haha. But it's time I revisit this, even though I'm too late for the big event. Thank you for the inspiration!

looks like a lot of fun Jess. I haven't done pinhole photography sense way back in school. my photography teacher had us make a pinhole camera out of a milk carton and we used Polaroid film. we all did self-portraits.

Some very good images, I particularly liked the one of you in the doorway. The kicking up the dust in theory was a good idea, unfortunately it softens details that are already inherently soft in pinhole photography. Keep up the good work.

    Nice video, as always.
Just, I put an hand or the cap in front of the lens, then open , and then let the shot be, and the reverse at the end, if you know what I mean.
Maybe is not necessary, but is like I do when shoting with a pin hole.
    Ciao!

You should try using a 4x5 pinhole camera. BIG negatives but what negatives!!! Ilford make a pinhole 4x5 camera that's easy to use. Though, you do need a dark bag to change the film over as you use it. You should be able to get one of the Ilford cameras on ebay or at another online photo store. Nice pics, BTW :D Liked all of them, but the one of you in the doorway was close to being the best of the bunch.
If you really get into pinhole pics and the like, you want to have a go at entering the Krappy Kamera Competition. It's for all types of "alternative" cameras like Holgas, pinholes, Diana's, etc. It's run by the Soho Gallery in NY. Here's the website... www.sohophoto.com/krappy-kamera/

Enjoyed that although I don't have much interest in pinhole. It was fun to see you using it. Nice job with the photo selections. What possessed you to get a farm given that your university training didn't seem to be in agriculture or agricultural engineering? Seems an unusual move?

Those taken very close to the foreground subject were quite powerful. A DIY composition card or a director viewfinder app could help a lot I think. You should check out curved plane pinhole two with panoramic formats.
