I bought one new and can say it is my go-to guitar of all the ones I have, including my Les Paul. I replaced the electronic tuner with Gibson locking tuners and the bridge with rollers. All else is standard to include the 61 Burst Buckers. I think it was around $12-1300. Anyhow, with the couple of mods I made, it plays better than most anything I've found and has a sound that is totally unbelievable.
@@geraldhills41 Did you get the free titanium replacement from Gibson? My brass nut isn't worn out, but I got the titanium one for when it does. Give Gibson a call if you still have the guitar.
I wonder if the SG special 2015 is wider at the 12th fret or where the neck joins the body than its predecessor SG special 2014, or that is only wider at the nut? Also, not sure why Gibson used Zebra humbuckers for the 2015 model instead of the 490 humbuckers used in the 2014. Thridly, Gibson used maple neck for the 2014 SG special, but went back to use mahogony neck for its 2015 model. Why is this confusion, and what is the benefits of mahogany neck vs. maple? Finally, SG is notorious for neck heavy, so would that added weight of the G force tuning system at the headstock add extra weight and make the SG even more neck heavier? Great guitars though!
I love this years wider fretboard. It would be great if Gibson still offered this option.

I just wish all these demo's would stop using distortion and let us hear what the guitar actually sounds like!
+William von Zangenberg -it sounds exactly like it does with distortion, only minus the distortion

How much would this guitar cost??
Call the nut what you like , it wore out in the matter of weeks !

The first thing is to replace the tuners , then you are on the way to a good guitar !
