Would have bolted out, and gone straight to the mother in law who seems to clearly know what’s going on. Also making it her problem forcing her to also deal with her daughter.
I've been on the edge of my seat the entire story! Out frigin' standing! 😮. I see you hit 1k Congrats! By this time next year you will have more than 5k, no doubt.
You beat me to it! 😆 Oh well I'll just get in line to sing the praises of the girl in the dark 🤘🥳🎉 Also, I love this story so much 🥰 It will be very interesting to hear your narration after having heard it from the dark somnium originally 😏 I think you'll knock it out of the park though 🫡💨⚾
Oh no I listened to this on three different channels. Out of the three yours is by far the best. However due to Creep Cast I can't not think about the things they brought up that were funny
When I first heard this story, I didn't like it very much. It seemed like a useless protagonist. But hearing it again, it's grown on me. It seems to be both about the lack of awareness and ability to handle mental health issues, and also about how hard it is for men (and to be fair, women and all partners) to get heard about being abused. Linn has a psychotic break, which likely runs in the family. I see it as her father having had mental health problems, since he is no longer around and Linn's mother is apparently too traumatized to be able to talk about it. Perhaps the protagonist reminds her of her husband, or perhaps Linn has shown signs before. Either way, the shame and stigma makes her unable to address the problem directly, only throwing a hint out that professional help is needed. The protagonist reaches out for help to his mother in law, his friends and the police, but no one really seem to know what to do or be all that interested. This means he has to tackle all of this on his own, and lacking knowledge about how to deal with it, he flounders and ends up trying to run away from it all, with predictable results. I see the themes of lacking mental health care and awareness coursing through the story, with the added touch of people rather than coming to the conclusion that Linn might need to be put under restrictive care instead start speculating about supernatural causes. This in real life is the cause of much suffering and stopping people from getting the care they need. All in all, this story has more layers than I initially thought, and your reading of it made me get into the flow of it. Thank you for sharing. (I find that a lot of modern creepy pastas/horror are very pertinent to modern day problems, which is after all what good horror has done throughout history.)
such a great and in depth interpretation of the story, can definitely agree with you on all fronts. it’s clear the mc is desperate, as he loves his wife but doesn’t seem to know where to turn for help as no one is open or accepting to his claims - until his friend sees it first hand. thank you for the comment, very insightful and interesting to read 😊
