Old, personal friends of mine since we were teenagers. Our bands played together in the (very few) metal clubs in South Louisiana. Great guys. After Audie died, we were all crushed. A couple of guys in the band stepped up and helped raise his son after he was born. Good people and a great metal band.
@@bubblegumcrisis5042 We were originally called R.I.P., but due to legal reasons we had to change our name. Later became Powertribe. If you read the liner notes for “When the Kite String Pops”, the typesetter misspelled our name as “Powdertribe”. 😂
I saw them at their last show ever, Shreveport, LA. They were headlining, Floodgate and Crowbar opened. There was also a local Shreveport band, I'm wanting to say My Remains. Very thankful. Also saw Dax solo in Texarkana, AR a few years back. I was THE guy who brought Acid Bath to our local group of rockers/metal heads back in the day. I like each album for their own reasons, but Kitestring is probably my fav of the two. However, I'd probably say Bleed Me an Ocean is my favorite individual song, from the other album, Paegan Terrorism Tactics. For me, Agents of Oblivion was a good enough follow-up album after Acid Bath broke up. It's essentially Acid Bath lite. Like if they had done an entire album based mostly in the style of their slower, more ballad-type songs, without any of the hardcore style vocals/growling. That was good enough for me. And Dax's solo stuff is great, as well.
Grew up listening to them practice in the shed at Jimmys house. Great group of guys. I remember Dax fluffing cigarette butts for us to use as earplugs a few times.
Been watching a long time, don't think I've ever commented so just wanted to say I appreciate how passionate you are about music my dude. Just great to see such an honest love of the medium
I grew up listening to this band. I'm from Lafayette LA. I tried to go to a show when I was young, but they wouldn't let me in because I was underage :(
@@OnMyWayToEndsville met him a couple times. At an early dead boy show then at a solo acoustic set in Lafayette. Chill and humble. My old roommates band opened for him at Renaissance 15 or so years ago. Time flies
My favorite Acid Bath album and song right here. Probably because of how progressive it was in time changes and uses of instrumentation, but I love tracks with great drumming. Some people find it's too all over the place for them, but it has really helped me get anger and fruatration out over the years I've rocked it. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.💕🤘
Sammy's last name is classic Louisiana so it's pronounced DOO-AY not DOO-ET I'm pretty sure the label was responsible for the Pogo cover as I recall a couple of the guys weren't crazy about it but it ended up being iconic
I first heard about Acid Bath on your channel. Thanks to whoever first recommended it! It's been a regular in my rotation ever since. There's something about Acid Bath (maybe the singer) that reminds of a band that never made it anywhere. I think they may have made one song in maybe the early 2000's. The band was called "Fear of Sound" and this is the only song I ever heard from them: ruclips.net/video/aOER3Dhctc0/видео.html I'm not recommending this song for a listen, just for fun context. No idea where I would have heard this song, but maybe it was floating around on napster or limewire or something.
Gonna check it out for you Clint, looks like the big tune is Tears of a Marionette, so we will do that in your honor! Hold tight check back, gonna do it for you!

the painting wasnt made FOR the album. a serial killer collector purchased the painting, and someone at rotten records knew the collector. when the band couldnt agree on an album cover, rotten decided on the painting that they purchased from the collector
Not sure if the painting was done specifically for the album cover, but I've heard the guys in the band didn't want it on the album as art...and were pretty mad at the record company for using it. Great song and greater album, tho!!
The painting is from serial killer John Wayne Gacy and was painted years ago while he was in prison. Im not sure about the whole band or label thing but I didnt see why anyone would have an issue since the Paegan Terrorism Tactics was done by Dr. Jack Kevorkian (Dr. Death) and their Radio Edits EP was drawn by Richard Ramirez (Night Stalker).
The Blue by Acid Bath is great, would be great to see reaction to that, i actually discovered acid bath through your videos, they are now my favorite band. Just need to react to all their songs 😂😂
This was my intro into Acid Bath….been a fan since. Love the way Dax’s voice can go from stoner rock to a demon from the pits. #MoreAcid

Thanks man for checking out this great track and also for the shout out 🤘
That's JW Gacey as Pogo the clown as he would actually dress up like that and volunteer with the children...
The Record company made acid bath agree to have JWG draw stuff for the debut album
