    Still so confusing about how forces act on each other, but must say thank you for the effort.

    when you calculate F(BA). where does the negative sign go? i keep getting -43.15 (F BA) and for F (CA) i get 89.9. so when i subtract -43.15 - 89.9 i get -133.05 for my answer

    • @tomathin2102
      @tomathin2102 7 лет назад

      He has it switched you basically do 89.9-43.15 to get your answer

      Remember that in Coulomb's law you're using absolute value, that is why he gets 46.7 because the |-2.00 x 10^-6| becomes positive.

      If he used the absolute value, then why is it -46.7 and not 46.7? I'm quite confused.

      Like charges repel each other so if both positive then it is away from the other force.

    Since they particle A has different directions when interacting with different particles, it should be subtracted, right? Then, how do I know that it should be F(ca) minus F(ba) and not the other way around?

      Remember to apply the Principle of Superposition , also these charges are "nailed down" and are assumed to not move (electrostatic) so that you can calculate the magnitudes of the forces.

    This all makes sense except for what if you’re only given Q1 and Q2 their distance in you’re trying to decide where Q3 is located given that the net charge on Q1 is 7 N in the negative direction

    If we subtract Fca and -Fba wouldn't it be Fca-(-Fba)=Fca+Fba?

    Its ok and simple i have another probleme would someone help me with it we have a straight line that have a distance of 2a in the corners of the line there is a charge q + and in the other side also q+ in the middel of the line there are 2 times 2q that are flexible and can move to the right and to the left and the question is where will the 2q and the other 2q will stay stable i mean equalibrium
    Small tip is givin
    X^4-8x^3-2x^2+1=0
    This equation has 2 real solution that are
    X1= 0,4348
    X2= 8,2409
    If anyone has a idea please help me im confused i dont know how to solve this problem we had an exmple of a straight line but in the middel was only 1 2q and we had tp find out where the equalibrium is and that was ok but with 2 times 2 q i dont come at the tip
