History of Ghana is not a black or white. But we African always sees it that way. I was in Accra in summer 1978 on school vacation from Paris with my Ghanaian girlfriend. What this mah is saying is only part of the late general life as head of state in Ghana. BTW, l am a Guinean by birth who's family compound was next to Dr. Nkrumah residence in Conakry coleah corniche neighborhood. Le Ghana à vraiment une histoire récente très tragique.

You sent me to memory lane. I was very sad and quiet for 2 days after he was killed along with Utuka. Acheampong did well and promoted Ghanaian patriotism than any Ghanaian leader.

I became interested in civics as a subject in elementary school during the Acheampong's era. I was 10 years when Acheampong came into power. My own father was Acheampong's fan. I used to draw portraits of the head of state and show it at our school exhibitions. I'm very much aware of all the programmes of the the NRC. I memorised the commissioners of council. My classmates used to call me 'Graphic'. Why? Bcos Gen. Acheampong's got made me very happy with current affairs. Almost all his programmes involved everyone, even school children.
Danquah/Busia tradition intentionally killed Acheampong's history. I am also a historian. I personally saw Acheampong in 1977 when I was in primary school
I love your presentation. Let me make a small correction. Sakasaka park in tamale was there during Nkrumah's time. I was a pupil of sakasaka Experimental primary school and the park was there. Long before Acheampong came to power. Thanks for helping the young ones.

The man is or was unlucky: He overthrew the NPP (Busia and his people) and the NDC ( PNDC) also did him so bad. The logic is that, these two parties dominate the political scene and so don’t expect anyone to say something good about him unless you do your own education. There’s even an extensive book about him by one professor.
Lawyer is right state housing, low cost housing, tono irrigation project, Vea irrigation project, nasia, valley, fumbisi valley uppers chapter one and two bands for entrainment of workers, catering rest house etc, infact anyone who takes tomatoes or onions from the north should thank Acheampong. I will wish that Acheampong's legacies should be taught in the Ghanaian schools.
General Acheampong was the best Head of State in Ghana. He did plenty things for the country but because of hatred and envy he was killed for nothing. If all the past leaders have done so Ghana will have gone forward.
1. He upgraded the Irrigation Department of the Min of Agriculture to: Irrigation Development Authority. 2. Afife irrigation dam and rice projects. 3. New site for many secondary schools eg. Benkum Secondary School. 4. Established Ghana's only Sixth Form Science College at Presec, Legon.
Lawyer Anokye is a mature historian,all what he saying is true.l was a young guy when Acheapong took over and he did well but latter things got out of hand.ln the beginning things were good, he starts with operation feed yourself which was a good policy, start building roads ,low cost estates, hospitals, markets.The problem started when he depreciated the cedi to ten cedi which in those days we call it jato.Infact he did well but latter things got out of hand.
General Acheampong did a lot for the country Ghana. Especially, with regards to the Northern part of Ghana here. Tamale to be precised. I can quit remember the Tamale Teaching Hospital. Tamale Central Market to name just a few. There's one thing I remember again. Operations Feed Yourself. It was Boom for farmers.
