This happens to me to!!! I own the DJI mini 3 non pro. I think it happens when you take the drone in and out of the bag. Once I stopped taking the drone out the bag it never happened again.
My Mini 3 pro got a crack in one prop but continued flying well. When being in a better place a change was done. Then I saw the other blade had lost the tip just like You showed! Also found out a nice way to handle those tiny, fiddly screws. Put the screw into the prop. Then add the screw driver and approach the motor and screw it on.
I had that when checking my drone over and changed all of them for new ones and noticed the sound pitch was different. That was the main reason why I did a more extensive check for hair lines, fine chips, or anything else with a torch, noticing the orange tip was loose and wasn't sure on another if was a hair line mark or some weird scratch.
Same issue on the Air 3. Just buy Master Airscrew stealth props. About the same price but last much longer because they are one piece/material. A little bit less finger friendly without the rubber tip but the sound better and are safe to use
very wothful info, thanks a lot. i'm happy all my props on M3p and M4p are in good shape, but i'll checks them regularly from now on ! (as I always do flying propdriven airplanes !)
I just watched your video on how to use a drone for beginners and enjoyed the content and info you have provided. Obviously, I'm new to drones and looking to buy my first drone in a couple of months. I will be sure to watch your videos for future reference. Thank you!
After i crashed my mini 3 a while back i just flew with two propellers having no tips and the other two having them lose. Didn't affect stability but it made it lowder. I also didn't feel any performance differences, only that it is significantly louder.
Same thing on M3 DJI drones. It is not a major problem since you can fly with partially damaged orange piece without any issue. If you want to replace these at the slightest peeling off we are not finished!
I know it’s very annoying. I linked to some third-party propellers and they don’t have these soft piece at the edge. The purpose seem to be less dangerous if it flies into things or people.
I fixed the loose orange propeller tip with a very small piece of Tesafilm and everything was okay again. Although of course I am not sure whether the aerodynamic properties of the propeller cannot change minimally. Even if I haven't observed any different behavoir since then.
adding anything to the prop will make it out of balance...you would have to add exactly the same amount of weight to all the other props for this to work...not advisable
This is an interesting topic. It may or may not be true. If we take into account that the main forces are dominated by the lift forces of the propellers, wind and acceleration, compared to the minimal weight (< 1 mg) of the small piece of plastic, size 0.5 x 1.0cm, this can work quite well and safely as a temporary solution. Of course, original propellers are always the best option...
i flew my mini 4 pro full speed into a gazebo and the only thing that was damaged was the orange part of the propellers. replaced and everything was fine
I have 2 of these broken edges on my mini 3 pro propellers. But i kept on flying without those rubber edges for 30+ hours without any issue. And another one of them detached completely during flight. But i am facing no problem. Although its good to change. Because the drone is much more expensive than $9 prop
Thanks for sharing. Other than the obvious that the aerodynamics is slightly affected as well as the propellers being more likely to cause harm if they touch anything or anyone, I can also imagine that a slight unbalance could affect the lifespan of the motors.
My mini 3 pro done 130 flight flights , never had a problem with the propellers .. Check your propellers on a regular basis , and they are there for safety purposes ... maybe people are just being heavy-handed with them ... 👍
Thanks for sharing. With this I also wanted to highlight that we should not only throw the drone up in the air every time without actually looking, touching and assessing the critical parts :)
Thanks for watching!

So you stopped flying it 😂😂😂😂
Great advice 😂
😊
@@WilliemBills I still fly. I just never use the FMC Bag. I just keep it on my desk

I have replaced at least a dozen sets over the past 2 yrs. Now, when possible, I dab a bit of crazy glue on the separating area= seems to work fine..
Thanks for the tips 😊
Thank you! I’ll check them now
Many thanks for that will keep my eyes on them from now on 😊

Good reminder to make "checking all your props before launch" a part of your pre-flght check.
Thanks for sharing,i’m going to check it on my mp4 🙏🏻👍🏻
Thanks for that, I will check later
Thanks.
Have the M3P - Good to know. Appreciate that!

Thank you for this information. I will check mine right away. Like # 266!!!

Thanks. The question is have you tried flying it without those four orange tips from each props?
After i crashed my mini 3 a while back i just flew with two propellers having no tips and the other two having them lose. Didn't affect stability but it made it lowder. I also didn't feel any performance differences, only that it is significantly louder.
Thanks for the reply@@GenevaConventionViolator
A reason would be great, been flying mine without them… 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Good tip thanks for sharing
Thank you. I hope it will at least help someone 😃👍🏼

Maybe it would be ok just to take all rubber tips off? Just curious
I use a prop strap and a hardcase. Never had a prop issue like this unless i crashed lol
What about the dji mini 2?
It is a rubber tip, they say it is for safety.i always check every propeller before every flight😁
Jup. Many of the 3rd party propellers don’t have that rubber protective tip.
Mine seemed to do that after just a couple of short flights on my Mini 4 pro...
I know it’s very annoying. I linked to some third-party propellers and they don’t have these soft piece at the edge. The purpose seem to be less dangerous if it flies into things or people.
Great tip, who knew?
Dji should make their props “strong like bull”🐂 🤪

Thanks for sharing! Personally I will replace the propellers. Feels like a fairly important part of the drone 😂

The propellers are indeed very important …

I had the same issue. Very annoying

Had the same issue causing my drone to drift. changed and now everything works as it's meant to be.
Thank you so so much for sharing your experience
When you clip some tree leaves or thick grass/ weeds when landing is what I’ve experienced
My mini 3 pro done 130 flight flights , never had a problem with the propellers .. Check your propellers on a regular basis , and they are there for safety purposes ...

Newsflash (?) I have the same problem with one of my Mavic3 propellers. Beside of the mini's, everyone should take notice and check regularly
They are made to break. Just bought aftermarket cause I’m not going to be ensalved by a Corp
how’s everything going?-professional dji, take it easy,
That's BS Dji made them that way. I realize props are only $10 for replacements, but surely a better way could have been done as far as manufacturing.
