Is gold plated jewellery such as tawapa safe to wear? I bought a pair of rose gold eyelets from Tawapa around Christmas and about a month after wearing them during the day I had a bad reaction and experienced swelling, dryness and clear fluid coming from the inside of my ears. I've gone back to wearing glass for now. Is this common? Love your videos by the way :)
Plated jewelry can be safe to wear, but many companies use a very thin plating which wears off over time. When the plating wears off, it exposes the metal underneath which people can have reactions to. Odds are the metal under your plating was brass or copper, which many people may have allergic reactions to. Great question! Thanks for watching our videos!
"it costs a little bit more to get the right stuff" understatement of the century.
