No, Not caste.. there can be Good Doctors or Engineers of any Caste or Religion. I think, the certificate should mention if the person got in quota. So, if I go to a big hospital for some surgery (where I pay) ..I need to know the quality. A persons name/caste/religion should NOT convey their capability, their individual efforts should.

In a MBBS college, all the students despite of their castes study in same classroom, attend same theory classes, are taught by same professors, attend same patients n practicals, then why will some students get their pg seat at significantly less marks than general students?? Reservation was coined to put the backward classes at same level as of general class. Admission in a mbbs college has already put every student on same level, then why do some will get better pg seat even after scoring less as they all are on same level?? It's like playing with the health n well being of normal ppl, doctors who got less marks are getting promoted to do speciality & being senior doctors while deserved ones are being pulled back to being just a junior doctor. What choice do general doctors have now other than to make another US or UK great??

At present there's about 59% reservation as whole but I once read that SC ruled not more than 50% reservation. Didn't it violate that? Or there's another notification by SC which I'm missing?
Politics can override SC judgements. BTW, it's was in Indra sawhney case, where sc imposed 50% ceiling on reservation. But, for the govt. SC's ceiling is their floor. 😂

India must provide input driven reservation rather than output driven. Give them better education and other resources, so that they can compete. Giving direct result based reservation makes the whole thing worst. Because, most of them are only on paper backward and do as much preparation as the non-reserved candidate.

I don't think reservation is bad. I'm very well aware that there is lot of discrimination against SC/ST people in our country. That's the truth I see in everyday life. I know a lot of instances where people life and their next generation has improved just because reservation was there. But, I've also seen instances where a child, whose family is more capable than mine, is getting reservation. That child already had fair chance of getting selected without reservation. Reservation just give him an extra boost and it was unfair to me. We need to fine tune these reservations rules to filter out the second kind of people from getting reservations.
I belong to general category not even EWS. I too had that feeling of no reservation but it is not wrong still now there is no proper representation of st sc and obc in all india basis. (But Some law required for those who get jobs or admissions, idk what but required). I will always be happy about the EWS category, i think it is something that is required .
People in other countries are fighting for development meanwhile indians are busy proving themselves BACKWARD. And they said why India's talent pool is going outside

I'm a doctor myself preparing for PG now. It was such a devastating news just a month before exam , but I'm quite happy to see people's sensible comments here . Politicians use this for vote banks , they will never think about improving and equalising opportunities.
We should be ashamed that even today we are fighting for reservation instead of abolishing it. Here the reserved candidate gets the seat instead of the deserving one. In a MBBS college, all the students despite of their castes study in same classroom, attend same theory classes, are taught by same professors, attend same patients n practicals, then why will some students get their pg seat at significantly less marks than general students?? Reservation was coined to put the backward classes at same level as of general class. Admission in a mbbs college has already put every student on same level, then why do some will get better pg seat even after scoring less as they all are on same level??
It's like playing with the health n well being of normal ppl, doctors who got less marks are getting promoted to do speciality & being senior doctors while deserved ones are being pulled back to being just a junior doctor. What choice do general doctors have now other than to make another US or UK great??

At present there's about 59% reservation as whole but I once read that SC ruled not more than 50% reservation. Didn't it violate that? Or there's another notification by SC which I'm missing?

Giving direct result based reservation makes the whole thing worst. Because, most of them are only on paper backward and do as much preparation as the non-reserved candidate.

I don't think reservation is bad. I'm very well aware that there is lot of discrimination against SC/ST people in our country. That's the truth I see in everyday life. I know a lot of instances where people life and their next generation has improved just because reservation was there. But, I've also seen instances where a child, whose family is more capable than mine, is getting reservation. That child already had fair chance of getting selected without reservation. Reservation just give him an extra boost and it was unfair to me. We need to fine tune these reservations rules to filter out the second kind of people from getting reservations.
I belong to general category not even EWS. I too had that feeling of no reservation but it is not wrong still now there is no proper representation of st sc and obc in all india basis. (But Some law required for those who get jobs or admissions, idk what but required). I will always be happy about the EWS category, i think it is something that is required .

We should be ashamed that even today we are fighting for reservation instead of abolishing it. Here the reserved candidate gets the seat instead of the deserving one. I think atleast there should not be any reservations in medical. Only the deserving and capable students should be allowed to pursue these coarses. Medical is a profession of saving lives not of providing equal opportunities.
Why are the savarnas who tell "poor brahmin" sob stories to attack OBC, SC, ST reservations not celebrating EWS reservation in NEET? Their trauma over implementation of OBC reservation is bigger than their joy over EWS reservation. Their aim is always to keep bahujans oppressed.

Those who are saying reservation is bad i like to tell them that your demand is totally wrong. Ask the govt. for equal and good quality of education in all the schools and colleges around the country. It will solve the problem of reservation to some extent. There should be reservation for economically weaker people irrespective of their catagory. But stringent measure should be taken to assess actual income of candidates's family.

I walked out of my test centre feeling sad cuz i had scored 230/360 knowing i wouldnt get admission in the college why my obc friend walked out of the test centre with 80/360 and ended up getting a top stream.
