The camera angle makes it seem like you are playing completely solo, no teammates around you. And enemies only target you while the other party members do no damage.
It's because Rook is a melee character while the rest are ranged, so while he's up close and personal the rest are behind him shooting stuff, which leaves them out of the camera. I do agree about the damage though. Probably feels better once you unlock direct orders and are able to make combos with them
Yeah the camera angle makes it look impossible to read or dodge enemy attacks too. Remember when Dragon Age was turn based and you could plan an encounter? lol wont be getting this one

After playing loads of Baldurs Gate 3, is annoying else just finding the dialogue and voice acting in this trailer a bit lack luster. It is giving me the same feeling as when I'm watching a Marvel Super hero film....
I felt the same, my friend. It feels like a Marvel movie as well as Borderlands and that will never be a compliment. I enjoy goofy and camp but not in my dark fantasy like Dragon Age.
I mean, they were never really scary looking. I don't see much difference here other than color combos. It's a big underdetailed minotaur and a wraith.

Tbh as someone who liked Inquisition a lot, i couldn’t care less about deviating from tactical combat. When playing Inquisition i noticed that i didn't used tactical combat a single time until i played the game in Nightmare difficulty lol. So for me at least, this new approach making the third person combat more dynamic and fun works well.
pretty sure those pillars we pushed over were seals of two of the elven gods locked behind the veil, you know, the monstrous ones that enslaved millions of sentient beings, and mass sacrificed them in rituals to their glory that Solas lead a rebellion against and created the veil to stow away.
I think what he said "I took precautions" is what got affected. He was opening the veil while keeping the worst of whatever's on the other side at bay. But when the ritual got interrupted the veil was still opening but those two figures we saw snuck through
it very obviously wasn't stopped. But I'm under the assumption that those statues are of gods. There was also a statement that there are other gods in this game, not just Solas
🤒yeah why didn't sauron just brick up the doorway into mount doom 🤒 idk the guy is just an elf and not the protagonist of a fictional story about stopping said elf
I'm thinking it's either the Elven gods (the Evanuris) or it's The Forgotten Ones, the opposing pantheon of dark Elven gods that Solas supposedly sealed in the "abyss"
@@asherking159 would match my theory. Flemmeth/Mythal is a fowerful mage, worshiped as a god and can turn into a dragon. Solas imprisoned the elven gods, who were in fact powerful mages. Tevinter, which came after the veil and the fall of Arlathan, had their own pantheon of gods who were dragons, later archdemons. I think they are Razikale and Lusacan *and* the elven gods. And thats what Solas has been waiting for before bringing down the veil. The other five are allready dead.
Watching that horrible reveal trailer, i thought this is Blackwall, but then i read in the comments it's actually Varric. Why the stupid change? He's older, his hair should be lighter ginger, not black.

You should lay off the pink glasses. Origins combat felt grindy and overstayed it's welcome even before you got to play the DLCs. Inquisition had the best of both worlds - action and tactics in a good, fun balance. It wasn't without flaws, but for the most part it was very enjoyable.
There is something missing, but can't say what exactly maybe the sou? Characters look with empty eyes, voice acting and moth movements are out of sync. Combat looks less tactical and more single player action oriented. I am concerned
As a massive Dragon Age fan that has been tracking this game for a decade, I have been horrified every step of the way from the massive layoff last summer. But on a light note this looks bad why change the name last min and why do the demons look like that after TEN years of them having a really cool look you made them look like werewolf lol. Why does Tenvinor a land of ANICENT MAGIC look like sci-fi Star war Hell.
Apart from the Obvious, I would suggest maybe changing the camera angle? having to look upwards when fighting a boss which puts markers on the ground seemed really hard to see
Yes. My largest observation too. RPGs need to follow CD Project Red's lead and get away from Bioware's classic ping-pong dialogue. That said, this is only the intro/tutorial area, so we'd have to see when you deal with the average NPC and traditional dialogue - I assume most of that will still be ping-pong.
Feels like it, the status were probably the prison where two potential elven gods were imprisoned and we fucked it up by destroying the statues and releasing them. But why would our beloved egg head not protect the statues better :P
@@dirtybrokkoli I mean, his precautions were about the demons flooding in, not the Elven gods he imprisoned. That's literally what he was referring to when he responded to Varric talking about the demons. The Evanuris have nothing to do with it.

They're there to make it seem like they're helping when you'll just be doing all the work like any run-of-the-mill action game.
Some hints on the screen is not showing party health or status. They're just simply there. I bet you won't have to craft gear or select skills for them. Just set pieces.

Looks like the wait for an actual sequel to Dragon Age: Origins continues...
You have to look to more indie studios. Origins won't return until these idiots stop lapping up every piece of shit. This shit looks like the intro to ME3.
Do people really need some amazing world ending shit to like a game? Can we get something more grounded which is what Origins felt like.
Why do Harding and Varric do so little damage compared to Rook?

Yeah I think I'm gonna pass on this. Dragon Age in name only
After playing loads of Baldurs Gate 3, is annoying else just finding the dialogue and voice acting in this trailer a bit lack luster. It is giving me the same feeling as when I'm watching a Marvel Super hero film....
I felt the same, my friend. It feels like a Marvel movie as well as Borderlands and that will never be a compliment. I enjoy goofy and camp but not in my dark fantasy like Dragon Age.
100% It sounds like there is different mic quality on the characters too.
@@ichigokage you are so right. It just feels so vapid and hollow
That's the vibe I caught. Marvel's model makes money while turning the thing into an empty cash cow.
The writing in Inquisition was already lacklustre. Nothing compared to DAO and DA2. This is even worse
Please make the demons scarry. There is a reason why some apprentice mages fail their final test, and some are willing to be tranquil.
I want to be tranquil from watching this trailer
The demons are the lowest point of the trailer. I'd rather wait for mods on pc to make them look like classic dragon age horrors.
I mean, they were never really scary looking. I don't see much difference here other than color combos. It's a big underdetailed minotaur and a wraith.
Yeah, these empty designs are lame. Pride demon looked much better before.
This is being written and developed by Tumblr interns - they won't care, Dragon age died.
Did we really need a detective to find Solas when he was in the center of a giant glowing world-ending ritual?
It really looks like a game that just steals tropes from top to bottom.
he was behind an eluvian and she only knew where he was because of the traces of ancient magic left on it
Look there is Solas doing the thing we need to stop right now. Let's just...jerk around and wait if Varric has some supreme argument to stop him.
Varric:
- No, stop. This is bad. People hurt.
Solas:
- No u.
There is stuff skipped too. They don’t just do three fights and walk up to him.
He hadnt started the ritual yet when they were looking for the detective. Even after he started it having a mage on your side is probably useful
3 ability slots, demon redesigns, dialogue written by a high school creative writing class. Maybe you should have offered more money for the vets to stay?
yeep
I'd be surprised if BioWare survives the next 5 years
I think high schoolers can do better than this: "People are always dying, it is what they do."
7:13 I really hope you can turn that aim assist off or it was something implemented just for this trailer. Looks either broken or like the player was fighting for their life against it.
Players: Complaining since Dragon Age 2 about the deviation from tactical combat to action.
Bioware: So what you're saying is, make it more action?
Nobody likes that, as Baldurs Gate 3 which is even turn based showed. Wait a minute...everyone loved that game. Weird.
I personally like it, even though I loved origins too
@@silentsorrowbane literally very different game from the start, because realtime + Pause is something else than entirely turnbased games? But ok

Oh fuck
That sounds pretty cool if thats true.

Solas decided to carry out his super important, entire life's plan where an integral piece of the ritual can be stopped by destroying some wood.
Doesn't really look like it was stopped
I think what he said "I took precautions" is what got affected. He was opening the veil while keeping the worst of whatever's on the other side at bay. But when the ritual got interrupted the veil was still opening but those two figures we saw snuck through
it very obviously wasn't stopped. But I'm under the assumption that those statues are of gods.
There was also a statement that there are other gods in this game, not just Solas
He has really always been terrible at planning contingencies... see whole Dragon Age: Inquisition.

🤒yeah why didn't sauron just brick up the doorway into mount doom 🤒 idk the guy is just an elf and not the protagonist of a fictional story about stopping said elf
I hope our characters we made from 1-3 play a role some how like they did in previous games that would be dope
Is there still going to be a tactician mode similar to inquisition or not at all?
Solas tried to bring down the veil and forgot the main reason why he put it up in the first place 😭😭 the eleven gods are prob pissed
@@cthulhucrews6602 Which would make it weird that he didn't put any protection spell for them to be destroyed that easily
Eleven gods? 😅
I'm thinking it's either the Elven gods (the Evanuris) or it's The Forgotten Ones, the opposing pantheon of dark Elven gods that Solas supposedly sealed in the "abyss"
those two beings at the end are 100% Razikale and Lusacan
@@asherking159 would match my theory. Flemmeth/Mythal is a fowerful mage, worshiped as a god and can turn into a dragon. Solas imprisoned the elven gods, who were in fact powerful mages. Tevinter, which came after the veil and the fall of Arlathan, had their own pantheon of gods who were dragons, later archdemons. I think they are Razikale and Lusacan *and* the elven gods. And thats what Solas has been waiting for before bringing down the veil. The other five are allready dead.

Apart from the Obvious, I would suggest maybe changing the camera angle? having to look upwards when fighting a boss which puts markers on the ground seemed really hard to see
I like how the dialogue wheel just blends into the cutscene rather than everyone standing still doing nothing but talking.
