  • In this video, we discuss the Clam X Pro Thermal Series portable shacks, How to modify them - Trick your Trap - and how to stay very organized in a one man fishing shack. This shack out performs the Otter Hideout and Eskimo Wide . The shack in the video is the 2021 X100 Pro vs 2022 X100 Pro XT. I show the differences and the features that are the same.

Thank you... I have a snowdog too with a, Jaws of Ice on the top and goes across the snowdog to hold my auger. I also have kinda ram mounted my transducer to the snowdog, while the panoptix sits on the machine in front of my face to read at a moments notice. I can just get off the snowdog's sled, drill a hole, and put the transducer down the hole in front mode to search for fish. I hitch up my flip over in back, and utilize it then when desired. The snowdog is sooo much safer than driving on ice. (Personally for me, since dumping my truck completely through the ice way back in the 1980's, it is hard to go across a lake in my truck.) Merry Christmas all!

The snow dog is a very cool idea. I have a friend that might try one and sell his ATV.

I have that flip over and pimped it out. On one side from top to bottom I put in a clam minnow bucket. Then I put in a new clam table which mounts on and off in a second. Then I mounted my buddy heater to the tub. I can run that with out burning my pants, but I noticed a rather famous man to a piece of sheet metal and put it around in the front and top of his buddy, and that solved the concern for being more aware of the proximity of the heater close to the leg area. Next I have the battery bracket with a lithium battery. In the back I have a clam cooler they just came out with that attaches in a second. I have that rod holder off to the side like you, but I use the new rapala product that just came out for that. The rod holders slip in and out in a second. I also put the same rod holder in the front just for transport to and from the spot to fish. Putting the rod holder in the front allows me to open and close the flip over with out damaging them during transport. Along the exact same lines I put that rapala rod holder in the front like you. I have a fan set up, and I took out that nice seat. I will use at 6 gallon pail and a new otter seat that afixes to the pail inside the pail I have a clam blue color, plastic fish holder that works on the same principle as yours. You drill a hole and put it in there. I will miss the nice seat, but this way I have pleny of room to sit in the tub, and thus have lots of room for holes, panoptix, etc. It is a great house.

I like a tub light, I typically rig up a LED light strip on the chair frame.

Is that foam "yoga mat" in the bottom or is the rubber ergo mat material that you get at fleet farm? I have the next shelter up from this that is slightly wider and extends out further in front of you. The shelter is oriented to flip over the side of the sled instead of the rear like on the Kenai pro (like yours). It has the fancy boat seat that slides around...but I'm thinking about just ditching that, it's really heavy to pull on foot with it in and takes up a lot of valuable space that could be better suited to more storage. May just exeriment with my bucket in its place. I move around a lot hole hopping and use my shelter as a "warming station" when the fishing slows down.

The flooring in the tub is the black puzzle ergo mats. I got these from Northern Tool but they are all similar.

What size bait box is that, 8 quart? I'm looking at downsizing to minimize space used in the sled.

I use my grandpa’s old Eskimo (back when they were green) pretty regularly and I find that a lot of people are willing to sacrifice convenience for weight but when it comes to hand pulling and truly being a run an gun type of fisherman you can’t sacrifice that weight for anything.

Yes, that balance can be hard to find. I had an old green Otter back when all flip overs were canvas. Hahaha. Dating myself. I love to fish outside if I can but pretty hard most of the time where I live. Just so cold.

@@timbertimeoutdoors9836 where are you from? As I get older (currently 18) I find myself only spending the really cold or windy mornings in my single man.

Yes, its heavy. Nice features but I do wish it was lighter. Trade offs.
