Yeah I pulled something in my sternum like two years ago lifting my fat ass up on some railings. Still hurts but sometimes if I lift something wrong if I flex it just right it will pop and stop hurting for a week so, otherwise I'm just sitting around with a very slight dull pain in my chest that keeps me constantly on edge that it might not be a muscle that day and instead turn out to be a heart attack. I'm only 28 and I've already got like eight of these debuffs so far.

Hurt my wrist two months ago. it's been in a brace ever since. Had xrays done, it's not broken. So the next step is a Nerve Conduction Study. After a certain age you just slowly fall apart for the rest of your life.
I hurt my arm a little bit sleeping in a really fucked up position almost 2 years ago. It got better, but never recovered fully. After a couple of months I talked to my doctor about it. Two minutes of examination and an x-ray, to confirm the bone/joint was fine, later he gave me a printout with a bunch of exercises, a few of which would help fix the issue. After another half a year I talked with my doctor about being overwhelmed by the list of exercises that may or may not be helpful, and he referred me to physical therapy so they could help me get started. It's been almost half a year since then and I haven't made an appointment with the nearby physical therapy place yet.
These things really do become permanent debuffs if you don't put in the effort to fix them properly. It's not like the youngin' days when most stuff would fix itself within a few weeks.
Call the damned physical therapist, my father recovered from a complete knee replacement in about six weeks because of good physical therapy, and he's over 80. He's moving better now than he has in nearly a decade. They'll probably get you sorted in a week or two.
