Welcome to an immersive travel experience from Kanyakumari to Rameshwaram, a sacred pilgrimage to this hallowed destination. This journey commenced with a scenic train ride, offering picturesque coastal vistas, culminating at Mandapam station. From there, I utilized local transportation to reach Rameshwaram bus stand. Serendipitously, my visit coincided with the auspicious Amawasya of Saawan, drawing thousands of devout pilgrims to the Rameshwaram temple.
In order to manage the surging crowds, the authorities temporarily halted private and public vehicles near the temple, necessitating a 4.5-kilometer trek to my hotel.
After settling in, I set out to explore the mystic beauty of Dhanushkodi on a rented scooty, relishing the breathtaking landscapes and the intriguing allure of the ghost town. My next destination was the House of Kalam, the childhood abode of India’s revered former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Additionally, I procured a traditional dhoti to adorn in preparation for my visit to the Ramanathaswamy temple, an emblem of devotion and spirituality.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an enchanting glow over the town, I made my way to the Ramanathaswamy temple, after a purifying dip in the sacred 22 Theerathams, each imbued with distinct purifying properties. Following a change into traditional attire, I ventured into the temple for the highly anticipated darshan. The ambiance exuded reverence and an ineffable spiritual aura, culminating in a profoundly divine experience.
Join me on this transcendental odyssey to Rameshwaram, where spiritual sanctity and natural splendor converge, etching indelible memories in the sands of time.

I visited Rameshwaram a few years ago .
Incredible feeling .
Magnificent temple ...the pillars and arches are awesome .The architects were blessed to create those structure .
I went to each of the ponds were a pail of water from the ocean was dropped over me ..
I feel so fortunate to have had that experience .
And It's also the home town of The great scientist and former president Mr Abdul Kalam ...posters of him are proudly display .all around ...great feeling indeed

From the railway station you have to walk for around 2km from where you can get the buses and timings are not fixed but frequency is good and starts in the morning around 6-7

1. What time of year you visited here (posted video seems like around November). So do you think we need some jacket or anything if there is somewhat cold weather at all?
2. How far you could take your camera inside while 22 teetham snaan prolly can't take camera at all while Darshan I believe.
3. Please give more detail about the paid line system for darshan, where did you buy ticket for it?
4. What are timings for the Mandir opening in a day as you visited in the evening.

- I been there in September and if you are going there in November weather will be mild, I don’t think you need any jacket.
-you can’t take camera inside even in 22 teeratham, day I was there is exception, but you can carry your phone in waterproof case and click some pictures in temple lobby.
-you will find paid tickets counter on the entry on mandir with all the information.
-5am to 1pm and 3pm to 9pm

I was lucky brother because The day I went there, more than lakhs of people came to visit temple in the morning that management was overwhelmed by that and they allowed me to record otherwise it’s not possible.

Yes camera is not allowed inside the temple but I was lucky that they allowed me in the kunds but yes you can take pictures and videos in the lobby area. I entered from kund dwar.

There no dress code as such but covered clothes such as beautiful saari or suits will be good option. It’s one the dham so dressing accordingly is fun and appropriate.

We had a very bad experience here they first asked us to wait for the darshan. Our old parents were with us. After waiting for about 2 hours suddenly from nowhere some volunteers came and started pushing our parents to make a fast move. The authorities should know how to treat the old people coming for darshan.
