I REALLY wish Americans would start sticking up for profit giving, paying customers. Thanks to attitudes such as "support the poor employee" etc., standards in the retail industry have PLUMMETED - and it's ENTIRELY and EXCLUSIVELY down to - particularly Americans - taking a dim view of those who actually give these degrading industry representatives, their own money. Entirely their own fault. They're getting exactly what they insisted on - to the detriment of the poor (as in impoverished) customer who can ill-afford lax customer service. Get your head screwed on properly, if you don't mind my saying so.
She is the most honest avatar representing. I give her much respect for her passion in punctuating that Hiring Now sign & the unnecessary abuse cashiers take. Imagine yourself here vibe
Love how customers think they are always right. I work as a dining room attendant and cashier. The customer has a right to want something, but not the right to be disrespectful, threatening or violent. At my job disrespectful customers are immediately banned by the owners. We have zero tolerance for balligerant customers. Employees have a job to serve you, but not when you treat them poorly. This situation is a good reason why I practice de-escalation skills, so that disagreements never get to the point of shouting or fighting.
Those skills are great, I have them too. But, if the customer came in looking or expecting an argument because she knew the store can't do what she is asking, at that point the younger clerk getting upset like that is not necessary her fault.
The customer is always right, especially at a corporation like dollar tree. You won’t always like it but you have to whatever you can to accommodate the customer and I’d be very shocked if that cashier wasn’t fired after this, no matter if she was in the right or not.
I'm a black girl and 3 years ago when I was working at dollar general i was serving a white girl at my register and she was very rude, I greeted her and she ignored me her and tbh her body language alone gave away her bad attitude. When I was done, she snatched her bag and it ripped and she stared at me, I gave her a new bag. On her way out she mumbled "Dumb ass black bitch" then said some more rude comments about my race and I LOST IT!! I took off my apron and followed her outside ready to fight, I was yelling, cussing I had my fists up. My manager ran out and held me back, the other customers in the store defended me and yelled at her for being racist. After that day she called HR and told them I tried to fight her, thankfully the manager on shift had my back and the customers did as well. HR got the true story and sided with me as well and banned her from the store.
I love situations like this where the customer will conveniently start recording AFTER they harassed and verbally assaulted the worker. They roll the camera AFTER the employee politely tried to explain why they couldn't do something for the customer, and AFTER they continually berated the worker until they took the worker out of character, then they roll the camera to make the worker look crazy and unprofessional. Retail workers have to deal with so much from customers like this on a daily basis and then you have corporate basically telling you that you have to just accept it for a penny and nickel paycheck. I feel bad but there is only so much you can take. Sometimes you just lose control and that's what we see having so many people have to restrain her. The fact that she still told the manager that she better give her the shirt after they refused her service is very telling to how she treated the cashier before she started filming smh. I hate entitled people like that.
You're assuming that happened. How do you know the customer harassed and verbally assaulted before recording. Have you never seen employees start shit with customers. It happens all the time because shitty managers let them get away with it.
@@805fillmore okay how does that answer my questions. The person just assumed shit. He doesn't know what happened. Karen's can also be workers. It could also be the customers fault. We don't know.

Loooool. I used to work at Family Dollar, seems pretty accurate. Most of our customers were decent people, but some were....phew. Some of them were just waiting to start shit with you for various reasons. They were scammers looking to get free things or shoplifters returning things that they stole with no receipt. Some of my customers were just batshit insane. I had a guy purchase a phone card and had no clue how to set it up. He came back, screamed at me and my manager and demanded that we put the card on his phone for him. (the phone cards work through a separate independent contractor and we were never trained to do this. There was in fact a phone number on the card that he refused to call.) The guy threatened to throw a brick through our window because we asked him to call the phone number on the card to assist him in setting it up....). Another lady threatened me because the plastic easter egges were not 50% off (they cost a dollar....) and the sign had been left up from the night before. Now, sometimes we miss a sign when we are taking them down. Our policy is to just give the customer the discount anyway with approval from the manager. This lady started wagging her finger in my face and screaming at me regardless. Some people are just FUCKED and there is nothing that you can do about it. Both of these times I was written up simply for being the recipient of the abuse. My coworker got written up for having a customer pull a knife on him. All I can say is that I 100% understand the cashier's reaction and where it's coming from. Family Dollar employs skeleton staffing which means that you basically have to do everything. You have to run between the register and the store and stock freight. You need to clean the ENTIRE store (like it needs to be spotless....), you need to open and close, you need to count cigarettes, registers, and the safe. You need to greet vendors and sometimes you are the ONLY person in the store. Most of the time while you're doing all of these things there is a gigantic line of customers piling up at the register. Sometimes people just decided that they don't like the price of something and tell you to take it off. That means, that you need to call the manager (who is stocking uboats or unloading the truck) from the backstock and wait for them to come up and take one item off. You know why? Because Corporate doesn't trust their cashiers to take items off of someone's order. They also don't trust cashiers to do price changes and returns. If you are an assistant manager, it's literally the most thankless job. Your pay is barely higher than the cashier and you are required to work all day shifts if necessary and at least once a week because there is no way that you can avoid it. The skeleton staffing forces one of the managers to have to work an all day shift as the cashier can never be alone in the store. (Yes....that means that theoretically, you cannot punch out for lunch...or even go outside of the store to buy food.) This is on top of typical karen customer temper tantrums and meltdowns over policies that you literally have no control over. A lot of the time, even if we would like to change a price, we are not able to. Corporate requires a very specific percentage of items to be taken off of orders, a very specific percentage of returns that you can do, and a very specific percentage of price changes for items marked incorrectly (Even if the software is wrong.....it still counts....). If you fail this number a certain amount of times you get written up and if you get written up a certain number of times you will get fired. I think the percentage was 1% but I can't remember the exact number. All of this is enough to drive anyone insane. Not that I'm justifying this shitshow, but I want to point out that the return policy is literally on the receipt. It's very clear and obvious if you actually read the receipt. I used to just tell anyone buying clothes what the return policy was and that if they did not have a receipt we could only 1. do an exchange, 2. give them their money back on a gift card. Sometimes I would even save receipts if I had a strong feeling that someone was going to come back or if they purchased a lot of clothes.
I was thinking this as well. Dollar General is a really awful place to work. In my personal opinion (which I understand many may disagree with), some are focused a bit too much on the “pick a side” argument rather than focusing on the lack of healthy work(ing) environments, something that will help alleviate stress both from employees, non-power-tripping management, and reasonable customers.
Customer calls employee a name going out the door. Employee charge at the door in rage. Customer says I wasn’t talking to you. I’m like. The customer know she is scarey. Girl bye
The worker was a lunatic. The customer was being terrorized by this lunatic. Family Dollar has the worst worker who r frustrated over their low pay so they take it out on customers. It's impossible to reach HR to make a complaint so the employees regularly r rude to customers purposely!
Imagine threatening to get someone fired because they wouldn't give you a for your refund your $1 shirt. Then imagine freaking out and trying to attack that person. This whole video is like school in summertime.
Are you all crazy?! Once that customer became belligerent, you should have called the police or threatened to do so. This is utterly terrible and sad. I feel so bad for these workers. They get shit pay and have to deal with scumbags like that smh
The video starts with them yelling at each other, which means before the recording started something was said to escalate the situation. Calling the manager fat was uncalled for. And the customer would be guilty of work place harassment. Once you create a hostile environment, you are now guilty. Doesn’t matter if you are a customer
Kindness doesn’t cost anything like respect or self respect. That video was deplorable and no the customer is not always right. People who work especially now during this post pandemic are overworked, tired, and just trying to make it to the next day safely. I hope this is a teachable moment for people who go out to shop. Have a blessed weekend & life everyone.
Facts 🤣🤣🤣🤣 two workers got in a fist fight at my work in front of customers and nobody got fired nobody even got sent home 🤣🤣 jobs that are desperate for workers won’t fire anybody for SHIT lol she definitely didn’t get fired for that
The cashier was wrong. No matter how rude a customer is, you do not use violence to counter words. She cannot be a functional part of society until she realizes only words can be used to counter words. Once they ordered the customer to leave, the next step would be to call the police. She committed assault and should be arrested for it. Being held back by others does not absolve her of the assault, only the battery she was sure to have committed. She is not fit for freedom.
She was ready to lose her job that day lmfao. U see they hurried away when she was trying to climb over. She had that demon voice in her lol. I felt her frustrations! She had enough that day!

@@iampaytontv Completely understand what you are saying.🙏🙏 🙏 I think these people are not disrespectful only toward retail workers; they are just disrespectful people in general. They are disrespectful everywhere wherever they are able to be so. And retail is the easiest way for them to be themselves. Or, sometimes, of course, it's stress and they just loose it. In this video, I didn't get the whole picture actually, how it all started. Could the customer here have just gone bonkers, lost it? Because the girl sounded more hysterical than disrespectful to me. 🤔 🤔 🤔 I knew a woman who once screamed at a very old man who was pulling a heavy cart and walking toward us. She yelled at him saying in disgust that he was in our way and he wasn't. The old man was upset. I told her she was not right. I was so ashamed. It was so sudden, and I didn't expect this sort of outburst from her. It came out of nowhere. Then we walked into a phone store and I saw how the workers there looked at her - with utter hostility. I loved that small store and I liked all employees there. So I immediately understood why they didn't like her. They were surprised to see me with her. Luckily, they "forgave" me:) She was just a mean person in general - that's what I realized that day. I was actually shocked and appalled by her behavior and attitude.

2/3 of the comment section below makes me lose faith in humanity... these people have never done one of these horrible ass stores. It is literally like that all day long in those places. You get dirt poor people who are usually highly uneducated… Do nasty fucking things to the products and then expect to return them for a full refund. You have to work at a breakneck speed, expected to get 25 tasks done before the day is over. The only problem is you can never get the hell away from one of those registers. You are by yourself in the entire store working until about nine or 10 AM. And at that point you get one additional person for the rest of the day. And that person spends probably a good 3rd to a half of their time on the register as well. All these fucking customers care about is their hurt feelings and “hood“ respect. It’s ghetto Ness at its finest. Glad I moved on to greener and brighter pastures. Now I don’t have to deal with that drug-induced nightmare every day.

‘I’ll send it to corporate’! Why do people think this is gonna work in a dollar store🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@four-x-trading5606 just because the customer says something doesn’t mean it’s true lol I’ve caught customers lying many times. Businesses reserve the right to deny service to anyone. It’s common knowledge, and stores usually have a small sign out front reminding people
I was gonna say……. I used to work at dollar general and that was about on par for us too 😂

And retail is the easiest way for them to be themselves.
Or, sometimes, of course, it's stress and they just loose it.

I’m not saying going crazy and trying to fight like the employee did was right, but customers like that are insufferable.
She definitely don't got no job but she's buying shirts at family Dollar lol
Okay but the worker acted waaaay outta control. I would have controlled myself especially since someone was recording!
Esp at the Dollar Store and other low budget stores. Employees and customers can be insufferable! Sometimes I walk in, see the long lines and walk right back out. Times I choose to stay, I remind myself to ❄️🥶 chill. Fr
You don't know who caused the issues. Many employees are rude to customers because they know they can get away with it
@@donnab8652 no sometimes y’all are super entitled.
I bet you haven’t worked retail a day in your life LOL
You’re probably a stay at home mom or something if you’re saying this😂😂
Frankly, after the cuss-tomer threw out the see u next Tuesday, I was like whatever happens to her she deserves…I just didn’t wanna see the poor cashier go to jail for beating her down. Nobody working CS ever deserves this kind of nonsense. Love to all the CS folks 💗💐
I love the fact that there is an old lady riding her scooter casually by as the employee is litteraly climbing the wall to get to that Karen
The random dude in the wheelchair pulling up at the end lmao
The worker is crazy as hell. Lol
"You already know!" Lmfao
Old man on the scooter : Hell to the naw naw to the naw naw.
0:11 "CAUSE YOU ALREADY KNOW..." 🤣🤣LSH
I'm chocking from laughing so hard🤣
1:29 "B*tch I'll knock you tf out" 😂😂
Than the old man casually rolls by.
@@Long_live_Da_Bully Lmao
@@Long_live_Da_Bully -- LMAO. He’s like “Uhh, nothing to see here. Just another Tuesday at the Family Dollar. I hope they ain’t out of Little Debbie Oatmeal pies or the wife is gonna be pissed!”
Sure would love to know what got the employee so agitated. Of course the person recording 'forgot' to include that part.
Cee u next Tuesday...duh
And the "Employee of the month" goes to...??? 🤣🤣🤣
Shay said "I'm risking it all today!"😂
As she should. Because the bitch recording is a piece of work. And so is the bitch as friend of hers. They both are a trip. I had a run in with the one recording the video. Talking shyt about me on Facebook. Thought I didn't see it. When I did. Old scary ass. All that mouth. Talk shit. Then walks away. Old scary ass Karen. But can't say the shit to my face.
