Thank you very much, beautiful pen. I have a vacumatic major myself and was wondering if you have any tips on cleaning the barrel and removing the nib since the section doesn't come apart
Im sure a Parker Vacumatic specialist would give you better advice. However i would have thought Parker would have used all the parts they had available so occaisinally different nibs would have been used.
How did you polish the pen do get such a beautiful deep/wet shine? What compound and/or technique? Did you do anything to make the metally bits sparkle like that?
Third quarter of 1945. The die used for the date number had three dots at the start of the year; after three months one dot was filed off, after six months, another dot was filed off and the last dot was filed off on the first of October. This pen has one dot so it was made in the third quarter of 1945. Maybe it was a “demob” present!
All depends on the condition of the pen. If it is bad then i will use numerous processes and polishes to finish the pen. If you want a polish then try Simichrome.
Grandmia pen, I have one of those pen, it's in brown colour , My grandfather's pen got from my nany on my birthday. I am afraid to use it. I think ,I could damage it.
Unfortunately it is not so easy on these pens. If you can avoid removing the stud then leave it, otherwise send it to a repair person before you damage the pen. Good luck.
Beautiful!! I have this exact model and year. Mine needs a little cleaning but is in great working order.
If it is working then use it and enjoy it. Thanks

Hi Kristy, i have made lots of "How to" videos. Go take a look there are lots of tips and information that will help. Thanks
Very nice! I like this pattern, reminds me of city skyscrapers at night with their lights on.
I share OnRadar's feelings about your videos. I absolutely love these vintage pens, but couldn't justify the cost. Thanks for letting us see them.
Just wanted to know if there are any differences between the Vacumatics made in USA snd Canada? Specially, I had the nibs in mind.

@@penkino1 Thanks for the response. Will check.

Stephan Tchorbajian Take a look at the " How to polish a pen " video.
"This pen is approximately 135.2435 mm long".

Thanks again for your detailed information which im sure is very useful to my viewers ( and myself ). Cheers Andrew.
Thanks. Oh,no buffers ! They are laboriously polished by hand through numerous stages.
I may just do that when I've settled into my new house and all the expenses of moving are paid off. Meanwhile, I have your vids to drool over.
Beautiful pen and review. How do you get your pens so shiney? Do you use a buffer of some kind or is it done by hand?
This is the pen that made me envious of my neighbour friend who wouldn't allow me even to touch it.
Yes pens can become very personable to some people. Thanks
No problem, im glad you like them.
I have one but the body has a similar pattern but vertical stripes. Where can i send it to get restored and the cost?
Yes some had the striated striped pattrerns. Im sure if you search online there will be someone able to restore it for you. Good luck.
Hello

Which writes better, the Vacumatic or the 51?
+Trey “The Gatorboy” Stamm They are both nice writers and it is really personal preference.
I have the same, but made in Canada
Excellent, use it and enjoy it.
Will do, thanks.
How can I get the cap stud off easily?
Unfortunately it is not so easy on these pens. If you can avoid removing the stud then leave it, otherwise send it to a repair person before you damage the pen. Good luck.
Managed to avoid it, thank you!
No problem, enjoy your pen as it is.
My colleagues have dubbed this the "Matrix Pen"
No problem.
