Ayumi Hamasaki is a great singer too. as for nana disappearance I think is because her rights over the Internet are so strong. you can't share something of her easily. and if you did it's gonna be deleted at any moment. I know we shouldn't stand against this..but popularity needs this to happen. also they don't promot her out side of Japan. I hope one day jpop can stand as strong as KPOP.
2018 Nana still the best. In term of live performance i think LiSA is on her level. But most famous artist are very good when they do live as long as they have a lot of fans lol. But in term of raw talent the ones that could rival Nana is Suzuhana Yuuko from Wagakki and Hanatan/Yurica but hanatan's identity is unknown to public so yeah she's not that famous. May'n is far from any of them. Ayumi Hamasaki is like a Japanese iconic singer to the whole world that's why ppl always nominating her. She's good too nevertheless.
Nana wasn't feeling well during the whole concert. Her throat was inflamed yet it is most likely she didn't want to resign from doing the live concert until it got so bad she was forced to for the sake of not damaging her voice permanently. She sang perfectly at the Singapore concert, however. Nana also has never lipsynced before until her recent Appassionato performance in Music Dragon. It was either she was forced to do so, or they didn't tell her there was technical difficulties.
Every performance is different. There are all those videos with say, AKB members, where they sound somewhere between horrid and weak, because if an AKB member is actually good at singing they were hired by dumb luck, but to sing with Nana they have to sing live, and she still sounds awesome. On the other hand, there are some where she sounds a bit off- usually music programs where the acoustics probably suck, and they get a short set of 1-2 songs, if that, so there's not really chance for warm up, I wasn't aware she ever lip-synched though, so that one music program is unfortunate. Her voice was getting to the point she had to cancel shows though, so I guess it was a business decision by someone. Fortunately, she still sounded awesome when I saw her at Fuji-Q... missing a bit of the spectacle shown in this video though. Also, there's a video somewhere where she's shown rehearsing and being coached on the flying portion. She makes some comments about singing while flying and projecting with all the wind, though I don't remember the specifics well enough to say exactly what she said.
