Same man, I'm glad farming doesn't give me any fun whatsoever, though the only scores worth posting on my channel are FCs, so they're usually short and jumpy. I don't want people to get the wrong idea of my mindset, I enjoy playing long stream maps and speedy maps like Killer Beast, or Scarlet Night, or even old maps. I believe that with pp doesn't come improvement and I always have. There are just these random scores I set sometimes that turn out to be my top plays
@@ceoof1xmiss141 Most of the time when I play farm maps these days its just to beat a friends score or see if i can improve on the scores i set a while ago on them, but occasionally I'll still farm but never ever retry spam and try the slot machine mentality. It might feel weird for the first few minutes, but if you aren't enjoying where you are in osu, join a multi lobby. Yup. I have 3 types of days: - My hands don't want to move - Below average - The best state I've ever been in I like to simply enjoy the game, listen to some good music, put on relax, etc when I'm on my below average days. But some days, usually around 3-9pm, I get absolutely hyper and I'm able to hit every single fullscreen jump. I save maps I want to pass/fc until I know it's THAT day. This has given me lots of joy in both playing for fun and achieving my goals since the day I started playing. This game is really something incredible.
This perfectly describes my league of legends addiction. I have over 2000 hours in the game just for me to finally realize its so much more fun to play ARAM than grind to GrandMaster.
This is literally the story of every game I ever played. I’ve been playing competitively in the Mario Kart Wii community for tops for the past 10 years and have become well known in that community but as I mentioned, every game I ever played I played and farmed maps, courses or tracks so much that the love started to fade despite my addiction being strong. Realizing play to just enjoy a game makes you remember why you love the games you pursued. Rrytui being a Mario Kart Wii player as well only makes his phrase Pls Enjoy Game even more nostalgic for me now. Not just Osu! or Mario Kart, but every game in general
You know, when I started playing this game I also thought about improving my aim. It became irrelevant so damn fast... Starting from 1-2 stars, then learning that playing with keyboard is a thing, then buying a tablet... then a sudden skill spike, where I jumped from playing 2-3 stars to 5. Then the hard maps started looking enjoyable, and I became a player which likes to try 7-9 star maps even if I know I'd fail. It's my style of playing. Ahh, looking at the past brings up so many memories... All this fun I had and have up to this day, it's great. It felt great to pass 5-star maps. It felt better to pass 6-star maps and it felt so good to pass a 7-star map, because that took so long to even get there. This fame also made me a weeb, which I'm thankful for, as strange as it may sound. Damn, the flow of emotions... I think I'll go do something else now, this comment already seems pretty big. Thank you people who read this, I wish you luck.
@@uvuvwevwevweonyentenyevweu9405 honestly if you want my opinion, you shouldn't care what others think about what you can or can't pass, as long as you're having fun.
This video is insanely accurate to me. Although I started playing back in 2013, cycles mentioned in the video occured to me about 2 or even 3 times. Only lately I figured how to really enjoy the game, and that everything else really doesn't matter. Only the raw "enojoyment" of clicking circles of your favorite maps is what really matters in this game. For me it took 7 years to figure out how this circle clicking game really should be played.
The fact that the story wasn't my own, was told as if from outside looking at in for this guy himself, yet was oddly relatable. Enjoyed the ending song as well. Ty for video
bro the "and one day, it just clicks" is so true. I have no goddamn clue on why that happens but it just did happen and im just so thankful for it and made me enjoyed the game more.
I started playing aim/consistency/finger control/speed maps for farming. But as I reached around 36k I noticed that if I want to have fun playing the hardest maps, I don't necessarily need to be a high rank player, if only I stopped caring so much about the ranks I could truly enjoy the game. Now I completely stopped farming and honestly I won't say I have improved faster, but now everything seems natural, you improve without even worrying. I just love the feeling of playing with no pressure or expectations. For all players that have forgotten how to have fun clicking circles. Just click at your own rhythm :) (btw nice video!)
I would have probaly been that guy if my speakers didnt stop working so now I have to play osu! without any audio which ruins the fun for me idk if I should be happy about this
this video sums up the exact reason I never really went too far out of my way to farm. I didn't want to lose my love for the game and now even though I have some farm maps as my top plays I never go too far out of my way to farm for it.
Love how accurate this video is to most players in the osu! community including me. Saw Shige's plays (you will be remember in this community), tried to improve, grind, disatisfaction. I dont farm anymore and stick to more enjoyable maps (plenty). To all the newbies out there, you cant be and wont be the new top players anytime soon, so just enjoy the game
I've had this happen to me time and time again. At this point I just started taking long breaks when I stop enjoying game. After all - there's no point in playing the game if you aren't enjoying it.
I literally cried while watching this, all the painful hours of pp grinding, all the fun memories in the countless number multi lobbies, all the friends I've made in those lobbies, everything just flashed before my eyes...
While its thrilling to see improvement, it gets to a point where the game stops feeling like a game, and more like busy work to see a meaningless number go up. Play for fun always.
I have a love hate relationship with these types of videos. I love them, and they have a good point, which I try to follow, but then, when I hear someone talking about farming, I'm afraid that what I'm doing is farming, even though I know it isn't, and I become afraid that I will end up just playing the game for ranks, and not for fun. But, anyways, amazing video.
I am experiencing the struggle to improve, but in Beat Saber. I dont even play it for fun, I just play it for the pp. But I guess I just have to break out of this bubble and play it for what it is
this is like incredibly accurate. wow. as a player ranked 350k I was pretty happy with how you described 6 digits. after all it took me quite a while to reach 6 digit. and I'm at 1.3k-1.4k pp
Nope, still stuck in the endless cycle of getting good 1 or 2 days out of a year and still upload my good plays to my channel when they happen. I fucking hate this game but it's still so fun.
Thank you for being the Shepard's Tone of osu!. I watched this and related to every step, but as soon as it felt like the video was going to make a breakthrough and I was going to come to some realization that would help me move past the wall I'm at I just got cucked and the video moved on to the next plateau with no resolution of the last. Thank you for the anxiety attack.
Well, that summarizes my years in osu basicaly.. my goal was to pass something like road of resistance.. stopped at some point because i just wasn't motivated and it felt like i got worse from day to day..
I started playing about a month ago and have been playing everyday and enjoying the heck outta it. Never really care about ranks. I just love feeling the adrenaline rush and focus when playing maps that I can barely keep up. That's the biggest reason why I love rhythm games so much. I'll worry about ranks when i'm comfortable with 7-8 star maps. Also, mapping is really fun.
I was never a farmer in osu because i found it unfun, but only after reaching near 10k i really discovered my joy in the game, playing for good acc with HDHR in relatively slow maps. Great video btw.
osu! is a game that you can enjoy in various way, that is why "pls enjoy the game" have many meaning with anygame you want to play, it's rather sad i lost few of my best buddy play this game anymore but you know you need to move on in the end, nobody is immortal to play the game .
my guy has we are forever friends and our journey and epilogue in the chronological order as when I first listened to those songs he is reading my mind
Here’s my story, I never really farmed but whenever I would come across pp oriented jump maps I would fc them and gain a lot of ranks. I had reached rank 4k but my aim felt so wonky that I broke my pen. My pc broke afterwards and I stopped playing for about 2 years. I come back and focused on streamier maps and longer maps so now I’m fcing high star rated stuff than I’ve ever been able to fc, however my rank now is 10k so rank wise I’m a fraction of myself but I’m far better in terms of skill. Also since all I did was play jump maps I was good at alternating and pretty good at jumps as well but I couldn’t stream anything above 180bpm. Now I can’t alternate very well, I can hit bigger jumps but the jump consistency isn’t there, main single tap, but now I can stream up to 200bpm consistently. Throughout all of this, one thing that never changed is that I’m still a hidden main 😂
I have thought up a bit of a system at "farming pp." It basically boils down to me playing for improvement for 3 months and then I try to farm. On my 1st iteration I fced my 1st few 5* and got some S sliderbreaks. It's honestly fun to see a jump in improvement, since I could barely FC 4.5* before this. This game is so fun to play and the songs are all so good, honestly love this.
Stuck on 5 star maps beating my self up everytime I dont improve seeing all those pros hit maps I could only dream of, watching this video made me realise I dont have to be the best.

This perfectly describes my league of legends addiction. I have over 2000 hours in the game just for me to finally realize its so much more fun to play ARAM than grind to GrandMaster.
alright cut out the middle 5 minutes and you have me.
Mario kart competitive is a thing pog
since when did this guy become my fbi agent
He forgot the part when 6 digits players brag about passing airman
Lol
I can now brag about passing Image Material map. (Yes, the one which was cursed for a while.)
Is scarlet rose +hr pass a worthy achievement for a 6 digit?
I was searching "enjoy" and found this
The fact that the story wasn't my own, was told as if from outside looking at in for this guy himself, yet was oddly relatable. Enjoyed the ending song as well. Ty for video
This is almost me except I passed a 6 star before fcing a 4 star
sad
Ive seen a player that has passed a 7 star (it isnt airman) but hasnt fcd even a 1 star
@@topapo3661 that's not even possible lmao I can fc 2.9* but I can't pass 4.5*
My first 5* pass is an FC and I have not FCed any 4*
@@Asr.- what??? lol
Very relatable till i feel like im done even at 5 digits
So you've stalked me for the last 3 years... Ok
bro the "and one day, it just clicks" is so true.
Just click at your own rhythm :)
(btw nice video!)
this was so comforting, thank you
I would have probaly been that guy if my speakers didnt stop working so now I have to play osu! without any audio which ruins the fun for me idk if I should be happy about this
"You don't play that fps game anymore"
*And that's why I quit all my other games for osu!*
holy shit good video, the end was so wholesome and i have goosebumps now
every SINGLE THING EVERY LITTLE DETAIL applied to me, that it at the end i shed a tear, like it was the ed to an anime
this video sums up the exact reason I never really went too far out of my way to farm. I didn't want to lose my love for the game and now even though I have some farm maps as my top plays I never go too far out of my way to farm for it.
Bruh, this anime is so good. I can really feel the protagonist wanting to be the best, just to realize he can have fun... 10/10. Best anime ever
yano what your videos are actually really well made. Nice one :)
Good that i learned to stop farming at 200k rank :) and Super nice Video you made enjoyed every min. of it keep up with this work.
That moment a literal video about a circle clicking game makes you cry inside
I am experiencing the struggle to improve, but in Beat Saber. I dont even play it for fun, I just play it for the pp. But I guess I just have to break out of this bubble and play it for what it is
This video made me focus on playing other osu! gamemodes
this is like incredibly accurate. wow. as a player ranked 350k I was pretty happy with how you described 6 digits. after all it took me quite a while to reach 6 digit. and I'm at 1.3k-1.4k pp
Thought this video was about the player Plz Enjoy Game
That was genuinely moving. Great job.
i slowly got pulled into the mapping aspect of the game, but the first half of that video depicted my perfectly lol
I enjoy this personal attack. It’s structured really well
I started playing about a month ago and have been playing everyday and enjoying the heck outta it.
Great video btw.
i dont think ill ever be that committed to osu. will never be my main activity or game, but i do enjoy it as a side thing.
I felt like I was listening to myself. This is eye opening
This video is true. Once you stop caring about PP, you naturally get better because you are having fun.
I never click the like button, but this video is very well done, so accurate. You deserved the like.
The feels just hit like 200+ bpm streams.
"plz enjoy game"
Thats rrtyui's words to the game when he quitted :')
I feel..... attacked.
So anyways,
Good summary of me wasting my time on clicking CIRCLES.
10/10 would like to get attacked again.
Both beautiful and scarily accurate.
osu! is a game that you can enjoy in various way, that is why "pls enjoy the game" have many meaning with anygame you want to play, it's rather sad i lost few of my best buddy play this game anymore but you know you need to move on in the end, nobody is immortal to play the game .
Even I'm an osu! droid player, this hits home, bro.
my guy has we are forever friends and our journey and epilogue in the chronological order as when I first listened to those songs
he is reading my mind
wow this almost made me shed a tear near the end, great commentary !
This video actually made me cry...
*I can't tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing.*
