Well actually he was doing an African Finger Snap which Latin-Americans(as well as Africans and some Caribbeans) do when they're excited, it has nothing to do with Dolores at all although that would be sweet if it did(but she's behind him so ig he didn't see her).

Similar to how experienced he seemed to be trying to calm his mother down when we see the two of them as Mirabel chases Bruno through the walls

Maybe her power fading away sooner than the other? Like, her super hearing went on and off but she never noticed because she simply assumed nothing´s happened if she didn´t hear it.
Or, she heard but didn´t listen. I mean, even for us normal peoples, if the sound was too loud, it often became hard to actually understand the words. And sometimes, if someone´s already used to sound (like if someone lived near a train track), they can subconsciously ignored the sound. Maybe Dolores did it too, she heard someone sing, but because she had been too used to it, it simply became a backround sound for her.
Cause with her hearing range, I imagined she´s already gone insane if she paid attention to everything she heard.

A trait that seems to run in that side of the family. Between their mother’s miracle forcing her to suppress her negative emotions, Dolores being burdened with the knowledge of anything and everything going on in the entire Encanto, and Camilo’s looming future issues regarding everyone only needing him when he’s shape shifted into someone else they’re all pretty much cursed when it comes to the priorities Abuela had at the time of their gift ceremonies
While Camilo isn’t quite old enough for those kinds of thoughts just yet there’s a decent possibility of them forming later on in life after the carefree joy of childhood finally starts peeling away into reality
Pretty much the only one not cursed on that side is Antonio, and that’s likely a result of Mirabel choosing his gift instead of Abuela. And even then I dread to think what he’d deal with when Mother Nature starts affecting his new friends, after all that Jaguar’s gotta eat eventually

We can’t pick and choose what we hear and don’t hear. All the sounds, as well as all the other sense, come at us at the same time.

Imo I think Dolores knew that Casita was cracking and she knew that it was somehow tied to the candle. That was why she was telling everyone that Mirabel found Bruno's vision. She probably knew Casita would collapse and the candle would go out. Then she wouldn't have her gift and she wouldn't have to suffer any more. Matpat has a video about Dolores being the 'villain' of Encanto and I think he explains it much better than I did.

I feel like a lot of people forget that the movie is about generational trauma and the pressure put on you by your family members.. she hears everything anyone does at any time and has to somehow figure out which to tell or which to keep.. thats her pressure.. besides the many noises

I have autism and I hate loud noises! I always bring noise canceling headphones everywhere! I was get prepared for cheering 😂 after a performance. It even sometimes bothers me when people talk. I especially HATE children or babies screaming, crying and even talking with their naturally loud voices! I relate to her sm. Sometimes I even think I hear someone’s voice outside my headphones lol
