this is a track from Tony Rallo - a production alias for Alec R. Costandinos. This was the big hit on the UK club scene in '79 when the album was released...
Oh Wow! Do you remember this!! Hot sweaty nights at the club, givin it everything and dancin till you drop! No drugs, no beer just solid stonkin good Music.......bring it on! Thank you Mr. Rallo!
This was one of the tracks played at the first club I ever went to in '79/80. Always remember being completely knackered by the end. Love the way this track takes me right back to being 16. I'd go back in a heart beat if I could.
Hey agfagaevart, Back in the day, the best disco in town WAS...The...Best....Disco ....in...town....!!!! At the Lyceum in the Strand....Did I see you there? Did you dance till you dropped like it did? The Fuel of sweet sweet memory.....burning bright into 2011....Just heard Tina Marie moved on today...so young....far far to early...RIP Tina....
The 16yo me loved this track the first time I heard it at the first party I ever went to.The 54yo me loves it even more. Thank you Tony Rallo for this welcome slice of nostalgia.
It was such a heavy track, Crackers, The Lacey Lady and Royalty then they appeared on TOTP and the Bubble burst.Back in the day mainstream was the death of cool.
agfagaevart just the mention of Greg Edward's name brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye. He was a big part of my musical education. Good times, great times.
What you lot need is an old school party I arrange this every so often take my vinyl decks and speakers to a venue set up and play and of course invite a load of friends we have a great time
Sheppey Island Kent, Canvey Island Gold Mine, Up North Cassinellis, Blackpool Mecca, The Ritz Manchester, The white House, Caister weekenders. to mention just a few places we danced around the UK. Great time great people!
I was 13 when this song came out. Once a week me and loads of people from school used to go roller skating and they always played this track. Happy memories 😊
Reading all of the posts makes me happy that there are more of us out there wishing for those great nights from over 30 years ago. All the clubs mentioned I spent my nights dancing and enjoying the wonderful music that will live with me always.
+Carl Skerritt +Oliver Jessop. Guys look up the Butlins big weekends. They do soul and disco ones and are fantastic (great atmosphere and never any trouble) also google soul/ funk festivals. Start boogeying again lol x
This brings back some memoires of the ZERO SIX in southend all those years ago. Great tune and super club song in its time and i still love it. Cheers Wayne from Essex...
So pleased to finally find this after many years. My friend Sammy Perez managed to locate this after I had 'sung' it to him via Facebook messenger! Check him out on a recent episode of CrateRaiderz. Unbelievable and very very happy to hear this and add to my collection after all these years. Thankyou Sammy!
The Royalty in Southgate, with Froggy and Greg Edwards? Can't really remember, but I remember dancing to it....... Saw the Jacksons there (without Michael), but they weren't that famous back in the day..... they had bodyguards in the upstairs bar, but no one was that bothered... how weird!
OMG...Ive been looking for this ever since i lost my old record collection....ive been looking under tony rallo and the midnight band...wasnt that what they were called back then?thankyou you tube!!! xx
@agfagaevart ........ Don't forget the one and only Robbie Vincent on Radio London every Saturday from 11.30 am to 2.00 pm; keeping London REALLY FUNKY back in the day !!!! Big up !! LOL.

From his one & only album release in 1979 comes this huge clubber of a track from Tony Rallo & the MIdnite Band, made for the dancefloor & it was a filler too, with such an infectious hook, a throwback to the era of Global Village, Royalty etc, do you remember sweating to this?
@agfagaevart ... One of the CLASSIC lines of the 70's funk era. Luv it !!! Lemme remind you of another SERIOUS funk jam you may not have heard in a longggggg time. Check out "Chance With You" by Brother To Brother.
@opindling Sounds good! BTW, do you remember a Sat night / Sun morning soul show on radio London (I think), which would rundown the latest singles in the "Disco chart"? I think it was on between 11pm and 1am, during the early '80s. Does that ring any bells??
Oh Wow! Do you remember this!! Hot sweaty nights at the club, givin it everything and dancin till you drop! No drugs, no beer just solid stonkin good Music.......bring it on! Thank you Mr. Rallo!

1979 - Greg Edwards - Capital 194 - Soul Spectrum - This track defined Saturday nights!
This tune is literally better than any of the music out there today.
It was such a heavy track, Crackers, The Lacey Lady and Royalty then they appeared on TOTP and the Bubble burst.Back in the day mainstream was the death of cool.
Yes yes yes!!! I always think about Friday and Saturday nights with Greg Edwards playing this, whenever I hear it.

May their groovy souls continue to rest in perfect peace...

I think it would sound great forever. My only challenge is deciding whether it's better than Burnin' Alive!
