wouldn’t insurance + brawler be good because you could lower the durability in normal fights to less than 50%, then only take insurance fights locking your weapon at the right durability?
wooden polearm is one of the better starting weapons you can get. 20 dmg, among the highest durability for its tier and not amazing speed or reach but it matches everything but like a spear or long 2 hander. Step 1 start as criminal scum with training polearm and perma bet your ass off. Step 2 look for many v many or pit fights with the most combatants in them. step 3 max train polearm and proceed to alternate killing enemies and teammates till there is only 1 enemy left then kill all remaining allies and 1v1 the last enemy. (you get exp for all dmg you do with your weapon even if its against friendlies) with any luck with betting/insurance and large combatant fights you should have almost maxed out polearm and enough money to buy a heavy hammer if you request god tier 2 handers from merchant. (theres not many options so you basically guaranteed to get one and its like the cheapest god tier weapon) and all of this before your starting weapon breaks or you even face your first boss/tournament. easiest run of my life.
The developers video on the traits was good and interesting that they will be adding more in the future especially when you consider how many are available already. Hope you change your mind and take the boss fight, I mean what's the worst that could happen?!

Why didn't you do the draft? Sure, you don't get fame, but the payout is pretty good. Not criticizing just curious.
