I never tire of watching your videos. You introduce new techniques and bring back older ones. I look forward to your journal pages every week. Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
I do wish my mind was as creative as yours. You just seem to always take items I would never see as components for your pages. Love the background and the brightening of the sails. Love this!!!
I love this page. I like how you cut it and out it into another book, leaving a nice white boarder. I also love how you tear or cut some pages in a journal so you can see the pages behind it like the keyhole with butterflies. I could watch n listen to you all day. 🥰 you are amazingly talented and make it look so easy.
What a fabulous idea to cut elements out papers. Some papers I have are too beautiful to cover up so this give me ideas to cut the beautiful elements out and make a journal page. You are so very talented and always an inspiration. I throughly enjoy watching your process. Over the years following you I have learned so much. You are the reason I got into mixed media specifically art journaling. I appreciate all the work you do to prepare and upload your once a week videos. Stay safe, stay sane and stay healthy. I look forward to spending time watching, learning and making pages with you this winter of 2021.
Hi, Vicky… so glad to see you reach for your FC Big Brush markers again - they really are the perfect choice for shading over non-porous elements. While I appreciate your desire to use items that are more readily available, I hope you will use them more often not only for those of us (many of us based on scanning the comments) who already have them but for YOUR enjoyment in the art journal process. The only downside to them is inky fingers after blending them out. LOL … Thanks for sharing your creativity with us… I like the idea of using elements from a collection that coordinate together and make for a quicker page when time and inspiration is limited. Love your style! TFS and have a great day!!! 🙂
Great page. I so love to watch you work and listen to your commentary. You are an excellent teacher. You are very encouraging and I can’t wait to try something like this with things in my stash.
Love the page. Those collections with the various sizes would be great to work with. You always do such a wonderful job putting them together. I'm always inspired when watching!!!
When you said you were going to use matte medium so you could do another technique on top, I thought, “Yay! Vicky is going to use her Pitt markers.”. I love the 3-D effect you get with that lovely transparent medium.
So delighted to watch this- you were in such a great teaching mode, & I realized how much of my current art is reflected from what I learned from you years ago. I've watched hundreds of videos, but no one will ever compare to you!! You are the very best!!
I love the Pitt Markers and have been using them for years. I've never had a problem in finding places to purchase them either online or at a show. This layout is gorgeous and I think after seeing your projects made this with paper I have to order it. It takes me back to my childhood as the living room in our house was decorated in the them. Thank you.
I think they are made for the US market. I live in EU and have never been able to find them any where here. If you have a link to a store in EU that sells them, plz forward it :)
You are so inspiring! There's always an excitement when I see You released a new video. This is no exception! Just stunning 😍 Thank You so much, gorgeous as always! Your teaching methods are so easy and fun to follow!!!
I get super excited when I get the notification that you have put up a new video. I don’t even do mixed media projects 😂 but I absolutely love what you make and how easy you make it look
Once again, you rock! I’m just so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to find your channel a few years ago. You are such an inspiration, Vicky. Thanks for always sharing your talent and ideas.
Lovely layout! I have a big Japanese collection... the cardstock, stamps, stencil and dies. I'm so tempted in adding this collections to my stash. I'll definitely do an art journal page with them now. ☺☺☺
OH this is beautiful and I love that you used things (or showed the how to) that anyone can do. Thank you so much for sharing your artistic abilities. I have been binge watching your vids for the past week even tho I had watched them years ago.
Beautiful! I bought some of the elements of this collection but I'm having a hard time cutting the paper because it's so beautiful!! I'm going to order another paper pad to hoard! I bought the but set of big brush markers right before you stopped using them. I LOVE them for shading!! Thanks for sharing more from this amazing collection!! Have a beautiful rest of the day!
Great page, great video. I haven’t done an art journal page in quite some time. I love how you used the fussy cut elements for your focal point. I bet this video inspires lots of newbies to give it a try.
I love this collection!!! Are you going to use the moulds that this collection has??? I love this collection. Your friend @ Stamperia is brilliant (along with you & your friend, Marlene)!!! ♥️♥️♥️💐💐💐. PS. Do you still use your Big Brush pens??? How is Ginger??? Oh never mind!!!! I just saw you use them!!!!! Lol!!! I bought the whole set way back in the day when I was watching you use them!!!
Just gorgeous Vicky! I love that "dragon boat." Stamperia makes such beautiful papers and you used them so well in this layout. Thank you four using the Distress Oxide Spray too. I recently got some of those so I was happy to see how you used them here. I'm not as experienced with these as I am with older sprays but I can't wait to try them now.
Another beautiful layout. You are so talented. Have you stopped doing cardkits? I have purchased your Spellbinders birdhouses for summer and fall and I love them. They are my go to for fall cards
Stunning layout as always, Vicky! I am the same way with maps and globes, as well as any script pattern, so this is one of my absolute all-time favorites... I had trouble finding the Big Brush Pens when I was living in India, but bought the Artist Markers which, like you said, work exactly the same way... It's been at least 7 years and they're still perfectly juicy!
Mine too! Have them for years and I think only a brown one is drying out but still usable! They are an investment but they last for ever the way we use them only for shading.
Love, love, love your style Vicki, another awesome page. Your explanations of the reasons why you do stuff makes all the difference to me 💓🙋♀️ Do you know if a mould will be available in the dragon boat style?
Oh me too…. When I use them I am like “are they upside down?”, “Do they say things I don’t agree with?“. But then I try to look at them as visual texture and elements and detach them from being words 😂 Any crafters from Japan watching to help us out? 😂 😂
Poscas are like acrylic paint, they are opaque and cover the designs underneath. These are translucent like watercolors would be but they dry permanent, they actually have india ink inside. So you can get similar looks with watercolor.
Easiest would be to use a permanent medium to start with depending on what you plan to do on top… so I would go with acrylics. There are ways to seal them like with spray fixative or that micro glaze…. but all methods have disadvantages. Think of oxides like watercolors.
You are truly the best at what you do. It's hard to believe you would ever not make a composition that you did not like.
When you highlighted the dragon it really made it pop!
You never miss on these art journals! 💕
I never tire of watching your videos. You introduce new techniques and bring back older ones. I look forward to your journal pages every week. Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
Wow! This is gorgeous. The red sails against that muted lovely background. Wonderful page.
Thank you! I love that you slowed down the video too. Can see more and enjoy for longer x

Exactly what I thought! Was so happy to see her pull them out today!
I love your art journal projects!
I love the combination of oxide sprays you used on the background, they reminded me of a Monet watercolor.
So delighted to watch this- you were in such a great teaching mode, & I realized how much of my current art is reflected from what I learned from you years ago. I've watched hundreds of videos, but no one will ever compare to you!! You are the very best!!

I like it! Xo from Spain 😘
Love, love, love your style Vicki, another awesome page. Your explanations of the reasons why you do stuff makes all the difference to me 💓🙋♀️
Do you know if a mould will be available in the dragon boat style?
As far as I know the collection is complete and there isn’t such a mold
But it would be really cool !
very cool! love it :)
Yeah pitt markers make an appearance, i missed them so much
Lovely background! I wonder what those text stencil & stamps say?
Oh me too…. When I use them I am like “are they upside down?”, “Do they say things I don’t agree with?“. But then I try to look at them as visual texture and elements and detach them from being words 😂 Any crafters from Japan watching to help us out? 😂 😂
Are these markers similar to Posca pen Markers? One difference might be that the Posca pens are opaque? Thank you for the inspiration on Tuesdays.
Poscas are like acrylic paint, they are opaque and cover the designs underneath. These are translucent like watercolors would be but they dry permanent, they actually have india ink inside. So you can get similar looks with watercolor.
@@vickyp Thanks, Vicky, for the clear explanation. I also appreciated your explanation for why you used the collage medium over top of the elements.
Your page is beautiful! I love watching you create. Have a lovely day too! Thank you, Vicky! 👏❤️
How would you seal the distress inks so they won’t react?
Easiest would be to use a permanent medium to start with depending on what you plan to do on top… so I would go with acrylics. There are ways to seal them like with spray fixative or that micro glaze…. but all methods have disadvantages. Think of oxides like watercolors.
