My father grew up in a Swedish community in Pennsylvania and they had clay tennis courts. If they got there early, he and his brother would help prep the courts for the day, they were allowed to use the courts first.

I was in poland, germany, Italy , austria. Saw a lot of castles, Cathedrals. Also in prague. There for a month traveling all over. Amazing!

Condolences to your families loss and prayers for your brother and sister in law, it’s never easy to lose a loved one. I watched my sister deal with the loss of her son. Comforting to know they are with God. Faith is healing. He must have been a special young man that had been selected back to our spiritual home. Know that the kindness of family and friends love will ease some the sorrow but your time with him are to bring you joyful memories as well.

My husband's from France an my mother in law when she goes there she buys me breads pastries and chocolates she buys her son mustard cuz his loves a mustard from there lol but French people don't like people from the states very few we'll admit it but my kids go over there cuz they have aunts an uncles an cousin's that live over there. My oldest daughter go every yr to see her aunt meme she lives in Paris but there is beautiful place in our states like Colorado an California Washington state Oregon an Utah if you like to ride those are the states to take your horses an see the beauty of our country

Diane de Poitiers adored Château de Chenonceau. She arranged for the bridge to be built over the River Cher, to connect her home to the opposite side of the river bank. She was also responsible for the creation of a set of spectacular gardens in front of the château that were prevented from flooding by stone terraces. It is one of the best-known châteaux of the Loire Valley.
Built in 1514-1522 over an old mill on the river then later expanded to cross the river.

Several decades ago, a friend of mine was on his mission when his mother died. He was not allowed to come home for the funeral. I don’t know if the Mormon church does it this way anymore, but I hope they are a little more compassionate than that now.

So happy for you and the family that the experience of taking an exchange student like Marine could not have been better. She and Casey similar in age and in things athletic ....Marine coming to your horse crazy Farm on Rt 66 and getting to ride a different landscape and western and all. I did not catch if when her parents came to AZ if you were able to take them anywhere near by like you took Marine. But going over there for you and Vickie and Casey must have been a world apart from northern AZ and the general way of life so different in France an old culture with so many traditions passed down, from the beautiful old architecture, to the emphasis on good and fresh foods, the hospitality between people there enjoying going out in these wonderful and beautiful villages and eateries. I think going to a few countries in Europe should be on more Americans bucket lists. Ancient cultures over there as opposed to our rough and tumble and "new" country. I was also blessed to travel to Europe and stay at a friend's mother's village and home in Germany. Like you and Vickie were blessed to have Marine's parents show you a good time, the same was true for me in Germany. It was the fastest two and a half weeks of my life! The quaint villages made one feel like I had traveled in a time machine to a wonderful and fantastical place. The people were so nice to me as an American I couldn't believe it. The whole village put out little American flags all along the street in the planters and even had a few hanging banner saying' WELCOME to our Home, our guest from America, Claudia! We were invited almost every day to someone's home for lunch and wow, did those ladies have the hospitality skills on steroids. It will be an experience I am sure you and Vickie will never forget and perhaps one day again you and her can return on another trip. Loved watching this video as it was so like the experience I had in Germany.

Gee, I don’t know which option I would choose the forest or the ocean I’ve always dreamt of riding on the beach, but the forest is gorgeous. Wonder if it’s because they have so much moisture over there
I would imagine that living in basically what is a desert all seafood would seem a little suspect to you. But I can tell you right now Alaskan king crab is really good. Most crab is really good. I like all seafood, but I could live without lobster oddly enough unless it’s grilled in butter and serve with beans and tortillas.
The cheeses……..they are wonderful, did you taste?? Bring any home!
