    Hi, the gyeon correction was engendered for use with gyeon foam pads not microfibre pads, also you would've got much better beter performance if the pad was primmed first

    Heavy correction compounding stage on soft clearcoat like Honda will always produce such murky and foggy results. It's when you polish and final polish that you will be able to see the true result of your work.

    compound doesnt cut like some other compounds, nut the polish leaves an amazing finish and is esay wipe off altough it dusts a bit.

    I've had better luck with slow speeds (3-ish) and much smaller working areas to prevent it from drying out too fast.

    Hey, maybe for the compound you will need to try the new one Compound+ work better and less dusty! Let me know.

    The microfiber cutting pad was probably a bit too aggressive, those S2000 have notorious soft paint.

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад

      matt34003434 it might have been, but paint was it horrible condition and still had some deep scratches left even after one pass. You can tell by the finish at the end. The maroon pad left a better finish with the compound.

    Gyeon Polish is a great product. You must use slower machine speed and shorter work cycle. Wipe off is easy, which is big to me. Good cut for the great finish it leaves.

    Any time I've ever seen those DA trails in the paint (when it's not single stage), it's leftover product on the panel. Sometimes products will absolutely glue themselves to a panel and you pretty much have to wipe them off with more abrasive fluids.

      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад

      It was so weird. It didn't do that when I used that maroon foam pad. Need to play with that compound more.

      Yeah definitely strange. I'd like to see an update when you get a chance to use them some more.

    When your microfibre pad is new , all the fibres should be covered so you can't see any white.

    What is best way to get rid of the dust after compounding? Do you wash the car in between compounding and polishing? Or do you just wipe it off with microfiber and some detail spray?

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад

      Best thing to do is buy Griot's FCC haha. I use my MF towel, but I also plan on buying a duster like the one Jim at White Details uses in his videos. I wouldn't use a detail spray because I don't want anything on the surface when compounding or polishing.

      one of my concerns too...

  • @woncho1
    @woncho1 7 лет назад

    Try some detail spray to extend the working cycle. Yeah I agree Gyeon normally make great products. I try the Primer, seems ok. Do give it another try!

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад +1

      woncho1 I don't like using detail spray or spray waxes while polishing. If anything distilled water. These products are a little different from what I've used before. I'm definitely going to test again.

  • @DJ-vw6ov
    @DJ-vw6ov 6 лет назад

    If the product is water based you might be able to use a micro misting type spray bottle to extend polishing time. Maybe. Also I've seen some of the other Pros like yourself really prime those microfiber pads 100% first; then put the 3-4 drops on and go. Polish did a lot better than the compound did. Thanks for another lesson.

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  6 лет назад

      I've primed the MF pad two ways, one where you prime it 100%, and the other a few dots because I saw Esoteric do it. Tried it out for this vid, didn't like it. I'll stick to priming MF pads 100%, that's the way to go with those.

    You worked at too high of a speed. Should work a lot better with medium speed and shorter cycles. Gyeon Polish should be extremely easy to wipe off. I love it.

  • @microndetailing8742
    @microndetailing8742 5 лет назад +1

    Great effort, but as you said you over worked the compound specially that the amount of material was really small, also the the pad wasn't prepared.
    The last thing is that when the paint is on a really bad condition like this adding a couple of dots will work better for you and will reduce the dust as well.

    After watching your videos I'm really considering switching to Griot's FCC. Using CG V line as of now.

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад

      Joey Crysel you won't regret it. Griot's FCC is crazy. Could easily be used as a one step because it finishes so nice.

      Joey Crysel Griots is waaayy better , no compound really compares with it .

    Hey Mike you probably should have primed your cutting and polishing pads first, probably wasn't enough product on pad when you first started. Thanks for the video

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад +2

      Abel Celestin Jr the pads were primed. You don't have to cake it on and Esoteric proved that. The mf pad could have used a couple more small dots after spreading. Mf pads do not need a lot of product. Check out how Junkman does it or Esoteric Car Care. Even Darren Priest doesn't say to use much product. Seems like everyone likes to use too much after seeing how Larry primes pads.

    • @abelcelestinjr8810
      @abelcelestinjr8810 7 лет назад

      MikeEM1 I understand that, just when you put Gyeon on microfiber just seemed it needed a bit more. Thanks for response

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад

      Abel Celestin Jr It probably could have. Reason I went with 3 dots is because Esoteric recommended it. I will play with the compound again, but it's not too aggressive. Probably better for newer cars. Meguiar's M100 is more aggressive for sure.

      MikeEM1 oh yea it is! Im debating on weather or not I should get a bottle to test out.
      Do you use the perfect finish as a one step as well? If not, what's your weapon of choice when doing a 1 step? (Excluding AIOs)

    • @MikeEM1
      @MikeEM1  7 лет назад

      Angelo I don't have a go to for a one step. Depends on car and finish. Even Griot's FCC would be a great one step. Test spots are always a must

      One inch per second is a general rule of thumb, doesn't mean it should always be applied that way. Depends on the feedback you're getting from the paint. Look at Jason Killmer. He's not even close to that technique and his results are always flawless.

      Bradley Nilsen Griot's Fast Correcting Cream was not like this at all. Although it was with foam. The compound finished better with the foam pad. I still plan to test it on more cars

    Turtle wax by hand would cut better. All these companies with all the same products put different names. I got better things to spend $ on then this overhyped industry. Lol
