Basically if Kyrie shows up it might be competitive. If he doesn’t, then issa sweep.
The game was most certainly an outlyer with Kyrie playing poorly. He'll def play better going forward. But he's consistently struggled against the Celtics perimeter defense. Dude has been awesome this playoffs, and I'm happy for him after how the media used him as a punching bag. But Ant ain't the same kind of defensive beast as Jrue and D White. Not yet anyways.
He showed up. He got shut down.
@@Kagemusha08He played fine. The Celtics played good defense on him. There's a difference between playing poorly and getting shut down. He got shut down.
Browns improvement this season is one of the reason for their success. JT willing to do whatever it takes (still hope he can drive more), Joe being a coach more this season and not just a bystander, KP unicorn magic dust & the defensive dawg in jrue holiday & his timely post ups and threes without all the bad shot taking from Marcus smart, white the best roaming point guard and 4th qtr clutch assassin, all the way LETS GO!!
How can you not mention Derrick white......????????? He Is there 3rd best player ..... he dropped 38pts on dallas in the regular season...... he Is everywhere on defence... go look up Celtics record when DWhite wasn't playing.....
@@areyoukittenme9937 i did, read it again. now all the way to the end my friend 😉
Mike Gourmand said Kyrie was engaged with a singular fan in the crowd for 4 straight possessions, like visbily mouthing back and forth going up the court
Gourmand??
Mike Gorman, the recently retired voice of the Celtics, watched the game from row nine, was commenting on Kylie’s mouthing to a spectator in row four.
Was the "fan" rubbing his hands?
Yea they got yea they got to his head. He was so frustrated because first half he was decent and second half he couldn’t hit a shot.…
I'm interested to see what the Mavs are going to switch up. They played Tatum the same way they played PG, SGA and Ant, but they haven't had to worry about the rest of the team like they do with the Celtics.
So what you switch it up and allow Tatum to put up 35 a game while Luka’s confidence dwindles and he’s sucking wind while getting wore the fuck out by jb?
I just don’t think the mavericks have a feasible, repeatable way to beat the Celtics 4 out of the 6 next games
@@drexelspivey872Another thing, what happens if the role players for Dallas turn into a pumpkin?
I think they honestly just do whatever worked for them in the first game outside of the first quarter. That was what put the game out of reach cuz besides that the game scoring by quarter was pretty even and Mavs (not by much though) out scored the Celtics. They lost to the clippers by 20 game 1 and to OKC by 20+ game 1. It’s all about effort and adjustments. Boston while great plays one way so the right team and coach figures that out like the Mavs have and i guarantee we will see a different game tomorrow.
@@ILLWill1027So just hope Boston misses? Because that's what worked. Boston missed the open threes instead of making them.
Boston plays one way but that one way is incredibly flexible. You help, they get a three. You don't help, they get a layup.
There are basically two ways to slow them down.
1) is to just have five great defenders who can hold up in one-on-one matchups which obviously Dallas doesn't have
2) is to do what Denver does and trap and full rotate or switch on every ball screen to drain the clock then make _them_ go one-on-one *late* in the clock.
But Dallas can't switch Luka and Kyrie so they have to trap and rotate but that isn't something you just do. It takes a high level of coordination and practice
Disagree they didn’t double Tatum like they did ant
Can talk all day about C’s plan to limit lobs and corner 3’s, allowing above the break 3’s, their underrated rim protection etc etc etc.
But Boston’s rebounding esp on the offensive glass was so key. It was 10-10 on OREB. But Boston’s just felt so timely and key.
Hes not a JT fan its always been obvious
I'm in the camp that thinks the Celtics can't beat the Mavs without Porzingis. But... after last night, yikes. Mavs are good but I think they are in trouble.
Clippers and Thunder blew them out in Game 1 too.
🧢 long as they got Jaylen it’s over
If Boston was a smarter team I would say gentleman's sweep.... But Boston is good to put up a least one dud.... So I'm thinking Boston in 6
@@geechiedan68 lol they had one game where they all played out of their mind and got every call...you will be disappointed in game 2.
@@aron.gortmanAlmost everyone played below their season averages. “Out of their mind”? I think you’re going to be the one disappointed. Vegas isn’t about giving out free money.
Boston now -425 to win.
That was the fuckin TINGAS PINGAS game
The most concerning thing was how much iso Mavs were playing that is how Boston will blow them out in 4 straight games
Yeah man I just think there offense after trying to run a pick and roll to Luka and then if that’s not there to Kyrie that’s all they have left…their 3 other players are two dunkers and a 3 and d guy…that’s not good enough to beat the Celtics
Every talking head: Mavs are the protagonist and Celts antagonist. So so weird.
Why is it weird? Its like david and goliath as far as franchise history.
Facts 💯
@jstdun except how can the Celtics be Goliath when they had an "ez path to the Finals"?
@@jstdun You're actually right. Talking heads need narratives to make themselves interesting. Rooting for David is much more interesting. "Look, actually, the most dominant team isn't." Basically click bait. (Edit: also sad to see the lack of intellectual honesty vs the commercial imperative)
@@mrenga I respect the Celtics and how great their roster construction is. But I still view them and most big market teams (Lakers, Knicks) as the "antagonists". Not because of bs mainstream sports media, but I like to see smaller market teams have a shot. The Celtics and Lakers have 35 titles combined. Not to mention the success of the other sports teams in those cities.
If Boston gets 2 quarters of slightly shorter 2027 Wenbanyama per game like in game 1, then it's a wrap, whatever Dallas does.
It's a match..I gotta look at the post game press..yeah I'm gonna go there
Oh shit if Brown is DONINANT..AND the Unicorn is fire...and now we wanna critique Tatum... ridiculous..stop with the forcing because if we talk about game compared to this Media talk smack...pardon me
The Celtics have been progressively getting more clutch as the season has gone on. Years past absolutely it’s been bad but let’s see as far as the rest of the finals. The mavs have the best player. Usually that wins. It’s a very tough series to call imo
You can tell Brown needed to grow ..he knew it..
What makes Ryen 1of1 is the hardy slander😂😂 and it’s ok point analysis too
The Mavs had no answer for Porzingas. He caught it multiple times in the high post and instead of forcing a drive or kick out they just stood around watching him pick his spots. Gafford needed WAY more playing time to throw big bodies at Kp and Tatum and horford
I feel like the entire league hasn’t figured out somehow that Sam hauser is an above average defender?
Jaylen brown will be the finals mvp the mavs have no answer for him defensively
Porzingis is a lousy 1 or 2 (as he though he was for all his career) but as the 3rd or 4th best player on any team is an unbelievable luxury.
Jaylen Brown is my favorite NBA player
Poor you!
As a team...PLEASE STOO WIT THE DIVISION...ya not there in the lockeroom,....what's funny is Tatum hasn't had too do anything.,..BROWN IS DOING WHAT HES SUPPOSED TO DO...PERIOD
I'm a fan of THIS BBALL SHIT...and Porzenfais isn't the focal point..or the fact Brown and. Tatum have played all season..hmmm.,ok
How many ovens do you have?
8 pt game in the 3rd and then it was foul, foul, foul, foul and two absurd travel calls.
Yeah, I can't even watch anymore. Probably been 6 years since I've watched a game. I'll just watch highlights
The fouls calls were absurd to you because you haven’t seen them call traveling on the Mavs in two years. If they called it properly, the Mavs wouldn’t be here. Keep calling traveling on “lifted pivot feet” and the 3 step monster (Luka).
Jaylen Brown for the FMVP. Enough with the Tatum promotion in the media. He is a great player, but he lacks leadership and settles too often.
This was kind of boring.
