nice vid, i have 08 328I Convertible and it has logic 7 which will require a $100 fiber optics cable adapter "A0581" to avoid the infamous no sound and SOS screen fault. Not sure why they don't better explain this because it causes having to order it after installation which is frustrating. You will have to determine which system by vin #. Will save time and headaches. Most of the youtube installation videos don't mention this but very important to note !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man I have a 2006 bmw 325i and it’s a 3 series pretty sure but the stock stereo looks exactly like yours and was wonder if this would be a grate fit for my car and mainly want it for the Apple car play and another question when I have it on Apple car play and play Apple Music does it show the album art and stuff ? Thanks
I just got that unit but the radio stations get reseted every day and the settings get deleted every day it’s so annoying the manufacturer send me an update but it made it worse now the buttons on the steering wheel don’t work 😞
@@somerandomhuman8405 Find a 'constant power' fuse in the fuse panel behind the glove box. Buy a fuse tap from the auto parts store to tap into that constant power. Google it and you'll find discussions about it online.

found your vid curious how has this unit treated cya over past few yrs is it still functioning proper for ya. looking at gettin my daughter 1 and she likes the one that goes inlace of stock radio vs the one that mounts on top of the dash thanks in advance if u happen to see this sir
I don’t have that feature in my car but I’ve seen it relocated where the ashtray is now. There is a kit available to make the relocation easy and look good.

Nadiyah Royal I don’t think they make this Headunit anymore but there are similar ones out there. Just google Android Headunit for your particular car.
Mandla Dungeni I wouldn’t call the final fit perfect, however I don’t really notice the fit anymore. I use it daily and I still like it over the stock radio.

Yes it should fit and Apple Carplay does now show album artwork.

Did you connect the yellow wire to constant power. If not it's going to reboot every time you start the car.

Great review! But where is the microphone for bluetooth calls? And GPS?
MrKenzauras I placed the GPS receiver behind the A pillar panel. The microphone wire I ran the same place and placed above the rear view mirror.
Do you have parking sensors? do they work with the new headunit?

Did you had to use a special wiring harness to make steering control work?
This radio came with the the required harness that tapped into the car's Canbus system.

You can do both. Either with Apple Carplay or Android auto or just through the radio’s own GPS.

There is a bracket that comes with the radio that give you a mounting point.

You have to relocate the controls for those wher the ashtray is. There is a part on Ebay for that.
the newer unit has it built in to the stereo for heated seats and you can do away with the switches or get the adapter kit for the ash tray, very nice

Where is the traction control button relocated?
It’s located right below the Hazard light switch on the center of the dashboard. Press and hold it to turn it off.

You can set the reverse volume to whatever you want.

Basti that’s true. It doesn’t fit fully flush but I’m gonna do some more work on the mount behind it to get it to fit perfect.
