Hey stepan, I’ve watched the video a couple of times and I want to ask if there is some sort of way to simplify memorizing these complex and long lines.
I think that practice is the best way to learn them. Play the variations. If you have noone to play against, use the engine on lichess. That way you will memorize faster.
@@vipchesschannel3164 Actually it's best to just remember few main moves and the main ideas/plans and figure out the best moves yourself. That's the best way to enjoy playing King's Indian defence and it's extremely close and even small inaccuracies can finish off the game sometimes. If you just memorise the lines the fun of playing KID will be diminished
@@achyuththouta6957 I am not talking about memorizing lines. When making a study, you can write down why you play the move as well. lichess.org/study/Po3kGVs7 In that study, I was watching Stepans videos and wrote down the moves as well as why you play them. When you make the moves on a separate board, it helps your remember them.
Stjepan...another excellent video. I am just learning the KID for Black vs 1.d4 (otherwise my main defence vs 1.d4 is the less common English defence..although now I am dabbling with other replies to 1.d4, as there are many transpositions possible). My son played the KID as a junior and became very good playing it, without knowing any of the opening theory or variations! I'd like to play like that, but can't seem to and so knowing some theory seems to help my play. I also know GM B Fischer played the KID as Black, so it has to be worth playing & as you say GM Hikaru Nakamura plays it too! Also, again, good to hear you very positive about your new situation and once more best wishes for your success!
@@chesslovers7807 It doesent matter at all which move is on engine level a tiny bit better. Ne8 is good enough for the best humans ever to play completely fine. So unless you happen to be rated 3000+ it's laughable to differentiate between the three moves in anything but personal preference.

Thanks for your videos... I can't stop whatch your channel and trying to catch the best for my games, just one question: after 9...a5 why white doesn't play 10. b5?
Some people really know how to play the kid as black. Others don't. The former you have to play your A game to win or draw whereas in the latter case you can win a lot of games. Black has to not only know the theory but play very aggressively, willing to sac material to get to the white king. If back opens up the queenside first he will generally win.He basically comes around the back and check mates blacks king who has lost a lot of pawns cover.
I have had so many games where Ne8 was the move that somehow magically saved me every damn time. It's such a lowkey defensive move it protects key weaknesses and allows for an easy attack.
Great video, i hoped that you would cover this variation :). What do you think about 9. ... Nh5 10.g3 for white? Black probably plays 10. ... f5 11. Ng5 Nf6 12. f3. I've played this a little bit as white and I actually like stopping the knight coming to f4. Is the point with 10. Re1 that you can draw the light square bishop back to f1 if 10. ... Nf4 comes?
I have actually considered analyzing it in the video, but decided to leave it out because it's become a sideline in the last 20 years and it has a completely different approach than Re1. 10. c5 is another move I left out and it's interesting too! If I had included all similar moves, the video would have been 3 hours long:)
@@HangingPawns Yes i understand :), the reason I'm trying to play it is to try to throw off black from his main line. It seems very hard as white to keep up with the theory the KID players know. Since i (as a d4 player) has to study nimzo, bogo, QID and all the d5 stuff.
Is it bad to play ... c6 on move 9, instead of a5/Nh5/Ne8? I think NM Robert Ramirez recommends that, and the engines bless it. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
I think c6 is a good move, but its not in the spirit of the given variation. If you play the main line with Nc6-Ne7, you want a closed position and an opposing side attack. Also, doesn't NM Robert Ramirez recommend 6...Na6 to avoid the Bayonet Attack? Ive seen him recommend c6 against h3-g4 or the Averbakh, but never against the Classical.
19:27 im looking into these positions and have the starting out d4 book from John cox, he says bg1 should be fine, but d6 seems a better move, because after for exapmle after nh4 after bg1 isntead of d6 seems alreayd hard, what is the current theory here?
09:03 9...a5 white is producing maximum victories ,totally agree with stejpan it being a inferior variation 💯 14:16 9. ....Ne8 line is far superior than other ones IMO, 🙌
If it goes 7. dxe5 dxe5 8. Nxe5 Qxd1+ 9. Bxd1 then black can run a desperado with his knight after 9. ... Nxe4 10. Nxe4 Bxe4. And positionally black has a better bishop than white's knight and white hasn't castled. Alternatively, white can initiate the queen trade then play 9. Bg5 pinning the knight. Black can get control with 9. ... Be6 preventing 10. Nd5. Playing 10. Nxe5 activates black's fianchetto bishop, and white can start developing his N on the queen side to a6 surprisingly and heading to c5 or b4 with material threats.
No need for complications you can just take the e4 pawn by the f6 with a discovered attack on the e5 Night white only worsened his positionas as the g7 Bishop will now cut the board
Count the material, black is up 3 pawns even after dropping d6. Even though white has inroads into the black position, black can utilize all his pieces for defense and can just barely hang on like Stjepan says, "with precise play".
