Royal Caribbean moves on from its Oasis-Class ships, the Wonder of the Seas (the current largest cruise ship in the world), the Oasis, Allure, Harmony, and Symphony of the Seas, to a brand-new ship class that will outsize it. We're talking about the iconic Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's newest ship class since the Quantum-Class, Odyssey, Quantum, Anthem, and Ovation of the Seas. Celebrity Cruises will also add a fourth Edge-Class ship in 2023 (Celebrity Ascent, sister ship of Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Edge, and Celebrity Beyond).
After Carnival Cruise Line has recently launched its brand-new and very exciting Carnival Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration cruise ships with the first Roller Coasters at Sea, it is finally ready to launch the Carnival Jubilee on Carnival's 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary!
Richard Branson's Cruise line, the adults-only Virgin Voyages, is excited to debut the Brillian Lady in 2023, a sister ship to the Scarlet Lady, the Valiant Lady, and the Resilient Lady.
Princess Cruises will present its newest flagship class (the Sphere Class with the Sun Princess) and so will Holland America Line, Cunard Cruises, and Disney! Disney Cruise Line will acquire Dream Cruises' massive Global Dream, one of the world's largest cruise ship classes, its first ship acquisition ever. This will be Disney's newest ship since the Disney Wish, which was recently inaugurated in 2022!
Another cruise line with an impressive new lineup next year is MSC Cruises. After launching the Seaside Plus Class's MSC Seashore (sister ship to the MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview) and the MSC Virtuosa, from Meraviglia-Class, in 2021, they will launch a brand new World Class (MSC World Europa!). This will be the world's tallest cruise ship with 22 decks - and it will offer pretty cheap cruises and affordable cruise vacations!
Norwegian Cruise Line will also grow its Prima Class of vessels, which currently includes the spectacular Norwegian Prima, the only cruise ship in the world with a three-story Go Cart race track! The Norwegian Viva will be a sister ship of the Norwegian Prima and will be released in 2023 for Caribbean Cruises. Many of the ships presented in this list will sail from American Ports such as Galveston, Texas, Miami, Orlando, Port Canaveral, and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, or even New York City for cruises to Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and more. Some will also sail in the Mediterranean for cruises to Spain, Italy, Greece, and more!

Just done 2 weeks on the MSC SEASCAPE from Miami very disappointed in rooms in staff and food it gets sad the same thing for two weeks entertainment was terrible it was like ground hog day on a ship same food same entertainment we ported at one place 3 times there own island it was only ok the first time lol the ship was beautiful but not enough staff for size and they struggled Wi-Fi cost me a fortune nearly $1000 for my family of 6 plus no supplements in paying restaurants they cost a fortune as well there’s more staff trying to sell you stuff then serving costumers rooms far to small for 4 people had to put cases outside on balcony that was miniature

I’ve been on oasis of the seas before and it was insane in terms of the experience and size of the ship so I can only imagine what icon of the seas is gonna be like. Currently me and a group of 11 others are set to sail odyssey of the seas in 41 days and can’t wait for it!

@@rhysswimmingandgymnastics It was great, only complaints I have are that on deck 7 aft you cant cross sides so u have to go down 1 and then cross and go up one, and the staff at johnny rockets try to make you buy more food than you want, e.g they kept asking me if i want to get another coke, if i wanted to upgrade my fries, etc

As a retired merchant marine navigating officer, I would never board one this size - it’s a maritime disaster waiting to happen!
I understand these illustrations are just representative of what these ships will look like. Where are all those 5,000+ passengers? I only see a few wandering around the ship. And since they are considered “Mega Ships,” how many ports will they be able to access? These ships look like they should appeal to young families. Will those families have the income to afford these new ships? On the several cruises we have been on, the majority of passengers tend to be older and retired. I cannot picture senior cruisers zooming through the water tubes, riding a surfboard or driving a go kart. I am unsure if these new ships will attract the demographic they are aiming for.
Just have to look at the Oasis class ships that have been already in use for the past decade. I guess Royal has decided that they want to go all in on families for these new ships.
Celebrity caters to adults. We cruised them earlier this year and was amazed at how uncrowded it was except during certain events and during disembarkation and reimbarkation. They do a great job at keeping the people spread throughout the ship so it doesn’t feel hectic.

They should make replicate fixed land or sea bay locations of malls, hotel/resorts and water attractions in these boat forms. 80% of most of the classic cruise 🛳 rendering, have people on the interior or way from windows. Might was well simulate waves motion on land.
I really like #5, Norwegian Viva. I like it so much that I didn’t even know I wanted to go on a cruise at all before seeing it. The go karts are awesome but it also just looks really relaxing

On a personal level - the smaller the ship the better the experience. And second, it's where the ship goes that counts. Otherwise, may as well just go to a fancy holiday resort . Or Disneyland.

The Global Dream will actually be the 7th ship, as Treasure will enter in 2024 and Global for 2025 is what most people think.

I’ve been on big ships and medium size ships ! Big ships are very appealing but I’m pretty I didn’t make it around many parts of the ship due to excessive walking but it also keeps you vast for days at sea. I like both

You could place TWO HMS Titanic alongside each other in the Icon of the Seas hull and have plenty of room to spare...
I enjoyed my time on Wonder of the Seas. I was on the maiden voyage but I constantly couldn’t help but think how much this would suck if there was another 1,000-2,000 people on the boat. Thankfully I think we were at 50% capacity because there were still a few Covid restrictions.

Don't get too excited about Carnival! I just read that their total corporate debt has almost tripled in just the last 2 years! Unless they turn it around in 2023 they might not even be sailing by 2024. (Their debt soared from around $7-8 Billion to now around $29 Billion! I'm not so sure that is survivable, and with their stock price hovering around $8 per share, they are in trouble. ) I'm also not so sure that a new ship can save them.

I saw the go kart track on the NCL Prima on the Miami port live cam. I could see the speedway track and go karts flying around and around and they had cool neon lights.

I don’t understand how these behemoths could possibly handle a major storm at sea. Roller coasters, racetracks, 6 story slides that look like coiled sippy straws for kids😂. It’s just a gross display of how much we require to stay amused every minute of the day. I’m looking forward to some videos showing one of these floating amusement parks in a giant storm at sea.

These ships are amazing. I would say the height of human engineering on the seas. Amazing. Why can't the people who design these ships design apartment buildings for and entire communities of the future for us to live in. Elon Musk....I know you are going to build your own city one of these days....have some of these people help you design that city. I'll be the first one to live in it if it looks like this.

Its nice to see that cruise ships are becoming bigger and truly exciting with the amazing ameneties and activities they can offer. But despite of it all , it still boils down to overall safety of everyone onboard from passengers to crew., the demand of working hours of the crew, like hotel staff I can imagine is going to be very demanding just to satisfy the thousands of guest it will have. It might be nice to look at but the story of crew's real condition behind the glamour and smiles is one that many simply do not know. Like for instance at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic how many crewmembers on a cruise ship suffer from depression and anxiety? The reality of MENTAL HEALTH issues on this ships is one that says it all.
i think it mostly boils down to how much you hate your own planet. this has to be by far the most stupid way to spend your vacation.
I aggree. I was a crew member on a cruise ship. Crew feel the pressure. If the ships get bigger. The company should at least double the crew staff. And look after them.

We have always used just the stairs to movie around a cruise ship, but the Allure of the Seas just about did us in. 6,000 passengers and 2,200 crew is just too big to provide as good of service as cruise ships half its size.

Passagiere: alte englische Tanten, ziemlich arrogant ,mein English war zwar ziemlich gut, aber genügte natürlich nicht den "Oxford-Ansprüchen" Schichtbetrieb im Restaurant, überfüllte Bar, kaum eine Möglichkeit sich anders zu beschäftigen. Ein erbärmliches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Bei der ersten Möglichkeit bin ich geflohen! Mich kriegt niemals mehr auf eine Kreuzer, so luxoriös er sein mag. Ich finde, es ist ein unnatürliches Leben auf solchen Schiffen!
@@gunterpasha Cunard sind speziell mit ihrem veralteten Klassensystem und der eher angestaubten British Poshness. Es gibt aber ganz viele verschiedene Reedereien mit den unterschiedlichsten Schiffen. Ich würde nicht gleich partout der Kreuzfahrt den Rücken kehren aufgrund der schlechten Erlebnissen mit Cunard. In erster Linie ist es wichtig das passende Schiff mit der passenden Route für die eigenen Bedürfnisse zu finden. Da lohnt sich auch eine Beratung beim Experten. Es gibt für jeden Geschmack etwas auf dem Markt.

Thank goodness we gave up on Ocean Cruising in these hideous floating white tower blocks. River cruising is so much more relaxing only 150pax on board, small boats so they can moor in city and town centres, and not 1 hr bus drive away, no crowds, easy step off step on experience rather than the queuing for disembarkation on ocean liners. Less regimented as you walk or cycle around cutsie towns and cities, rather than getting bused or trained from a commercial oil tanker port to the nearest city.
I remember being on Carnival in 2016, I get that it was my first cruise ship (and that an expensive one), but I loved it. The Rollercoasters weren’t there as far as I remember

When i was on Harmony of the seas the best thing i experienced was the show at Aqua Show Theater. Now on the Icon I see that it is gone, with great disappointment . Why?
Diving shows still exist on the Icon, they moved the Aquatheater to the top deck and called it the "Aquadome". 😊
These boats are engineering marvels on the sea but coz they are so big so you do not feel that you`re on water ? So it is better to stay on the land? ha ha but human mind do not follow logic, neither does mine 🤣 so I wanna one day be on a such boat !!! :)
