      he infact asked who she was, when she said "your mother" he responded "my mother died years ago, not long after dad passed" and shut the door in her face.... they had to have her brother come get her... she just sat and sobbed loudly... on the other hand... hes working for the grandad mom caused to become a pariah who refuses to retire in his 80's because... he would die if he didnt have something to do everyday... LOL.. in reality hes been running the place for over a decade but grandad... still works and handles clients... the old man introduced my buddy to his "forever wife" as they joke... his business partners shut-in daugher who had been seriously traumatized by the guy her sister set her up with... karma bit sister in the ass hard... the same dude ended up slipping her ghb and he and his friends ran train on her... in the end.. they had little trouble finding out who did it.. all of the guys came down with herpes because one of them had it and they all raw dogged her... it got worse because she got knocked up form it and they had to do pat test to figure out who the daddy was... she ended up married to the guy she setup to traumatize her sister... (knowingly...) i got zero empathy for her... horrible person.. at least all the guys did prison time.. even with plea deals...

No loss in OP's life without her; the whole family is a bunch of AHs. Who the heck 'shuns' a brother and then a daughter? Uncle Scott is the 'good guy' here.
    Also, OP should have told Uncle Brian 'it's a free country, I can do what I want' when he criticized her for 'betraying' the family, leaving the company and going with Scott. Looks like OP is in a much better situation with Scott.

    • @Teabag-jt
      @Teabag-jt 29 дней назад +2

      But it is a private company. It even states that in the story. It also doesn’t matter, the fact is a partnership can be a LTP, PLC or cooperative. Law firms are the perfect example where a bunch of lawyer come to form a single firm in the aim of being more successful with each taking a cut of the profits equal to each other for being part of the firm. The real question on this matter is what happened to the father’s equity in the partnership was passed to spouse or heir post death or was it sent back to partnership. Secondly if it’s a partnership you would need to get the other members to agree to make the decisions. This means 1 of 2 things, 1 that the other members agreed to this in which it means they are also against op or 2 they don’t have as much of a say thus the partnership is doomed to fail due to inequalities in the decision making process.
      All together this isn’t a failure of the father but more a failure of what happens when you don’t run a partnership correctly.

    BS-story.
    1. A "family business" doesn't have a "CEO"/ or "CFO". Those are senior employee-/board-positions in a corporation.
    2. While the company could technically be run as a corporation or llC, that wouldn't affect the status of OP as a "partner"; that term only describes ownership (which would be important in determining "who" would have a say on who was placed on the company's board). Given the company was co-owned by her father and his brother(s; as the story is presented, singular since "Scott" dropped out), OP would've inheritted the share of her father, and thus automatically be a "partner". Her uncle wouldn't have a say in that (either, OP would've inheritted her father's share alone, or together with her mother; either way, OP's father wouldn't had given his share to his brother).

      A family business can be made into a C-corp, which would require that they have a CEO, CFO, and one more C-suite position that I can't remember.
      Just because it's called a family business doesn't mean that it's small. It started with the family in the grandfather's time, maybe before. The father grew it to be as big as it is.
