- Karl-Anthony Towns returned to Minnesota for the first time as a New York Knicks to standing ovation from the Timberwolves fans and had one of his best performances with 32 points 20 rebounds and 6 assists in a 133-107 Knicks win. The Knicks built a lead as big as 36 points in the third. The Knicks finish up thier quick 2 game road trip against the Pelicans in New Orleans on Saturday night.

To have future success Thibs has to utilize the bench and not only when forced because of injuries etc. 40 plus mins for the starters on back to backs and every other day games and the team under achieves. we loss games because of tired legs etc. Guys play hard for Thibs. He has to trust the bench when the team is at full strength

Also. Now that OG is on a decline Mikal is now able to shine. In the beginning of the season when OG was killing I think it took away from Mikal’s shine. They play the same position and have a similar game
Only way that can happen is if Josh hart comes off the bench mikal is your 4th ball handler when Josh hart starts and he ends up being just a corner shooter
It was precious Achiuwa who helped get Mikal going early

Great win for the NYK's. KAT was unbelievable. and deserved the tributes from the Wolves. I will tell you hat impresses me mostabout this team going forward....the game completely changed when both Cam Payne and Deuce came into the game. You could actually witness the Wolves on their heels. I never knew how good Cam really was until this game. Keep climbing NY and you will get there!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable team win. Held the wolves under 47% FG percentage, outrebounded them by 20, Wolves took only 87 shots. Cam Payne still drives me crazy by jacking up quick 3 pt shots, but he did play effectively. If Knicks can use this game for momentum, maybe good things can continue.
I believe when we play other teams, as much as I love Hart, he doesn't have the length and the bill to switch on other bigs. He does his best that's for sure. But switching OG 3 and putting precious out there at the 4 the defense just looks much better. I think having Hart come off the bench as the four, and incorporating shamet in the lineup as the three, with payne at the two and Deuce at the one, there would be no drop off from the bench both defensively and offensively. I think we should seriously think about switching things up to this moving forward
I completely agree. Hart is great , but having the size and also player playing in position while bolstering the bench is the way to go.

Wasn't a fan of Towns, but he's so good in NY.

if you've seen town's track record, he lets the game come to him, he never starts off hot, he's a player who picks up the pace in the second or third quarter, and that's good, because he doesn't get desperate.

Huge game....even though it was a regular season game, it wasn't a regular/ordinary game.....maybe closest game to a Playoff with the amount of pressure/emotions, etc. invested, and KAT was Amazing and efficient.....(Randle was impressive as well in the first half locked in and efficient, considering..).....Impressive win....bridges had a great game too, albeit none of the pressure and focus was on him, which he benefited from which is why I can't wait for the Playoffs....We'll Really see who's who......Shout-out to the Game Changer.....DEUCES.

Seeing Thibs play Sims with KAT was eye opening and something that has to be looked at more until Robinson comes back. I think in certain circumstances Precious needs to start instead of Hart. The Knicks lack size sometimes and get out rebounded. Hart is a good rebounder for his size but against bigger teams he's not going to rebound like he usually does.

That was about as complete a game as you will see. KAT is feeling more comfortable on this team with each passing day. Precious is getting his legs under him. Mikal has settled in very nicely. It’s evident that when this team shares the ball, it’s hard to beat.
Other than drawing a tech, you saw vintage Julius - The Good and the bad.
I think the discussion about the merits of the trade has been finally put to bed!!

Randle makes the Timberwolves a stagnant offense even with AE on this team. KAT on Knicks with Bridges having the quietest 29 pts ever is scary. Less pressure on Brunson and OG. McBride is this generation's Vinny "the Microwave" Johnson.

I'm a little surprised our great broadcast team missed the keys to this win that showed the potential of this team! That was the ball movement that happened with Josh Hart not dominating the ball in the Starting Unit ! Just because the Media got lost in the " Kat Returns Home Story and Kills " there was a much bigger story all game.
Precious at the 4 got us looking like a killer team💯 He is the big body we missed when we lost Randle . THIBS got to play that line up more💯I know Hart is in the lineup, but we got to which it up cause the defense was the best all year🎯

Playing Precious at the four was forced on Thibs because of Josh absence. It worked very well. We know Thibs once Hart returns. Only 10 minutes for Precious. No Adjustments regarding using the bench unless it's forced. smh

I think the Knicks won the trade.
What the game showed ( KAT has already had great games ) was how good the team can be with ball movement not dominated by Josh Hart. Josh should come off the bench and give the team a very good second unit and at the same time free up the First Unit to be more productive!

When given extended minutes, as usual another double double by Precious....I never understood why fans never really appreciated him and didn't have an urgency/want to resign him until there was no bigs left in free-agency.....All the best to JHart, but if he's out for extended time and we can play at/close this level, Hart as the 6th man gives our bench the boost that we need to best utilize the depth that we have, although Hart is great as a starter too..

Should Precious be starting?
While the Media is stuck on " KAT's Revenge " this game showed how good the team could be with a progressive coach using all of the talent he has right now! To Mark13618's great point taking away Hart's ball dominance opened up everything and everybody:
Hart should come off the bench
Bridges should be offensive focus 1A,1B,or 1C.
When OG is not scoring ( which is often ) use Precious.
Play Precious more at C with KAT on the perimeter.
Give some minutes to Huk and to Sims at the C spot until Robby comes back or is traded. It's important to cut down on KAT's minutes as he is injury prone.
Cut down on Brunson's minutes and play Payne and Kolek more if Shamet is not gonna be playing.
What we saw last night is this team can have a productive bench headed by Josh Hart if Thibs would only get out of the team's way and use what he has and stop killing KAT, Brunson, Bridges, OG with overuse and develop the bench.
I alway was taking about..Kat need help..on rebounding and defense..that y tibs need to start precious..so he can help Kat and hart don't mind coming off the bench...
Defense, sure. Rebounding? He's has 13 20 and 20 games. Leads league in rebounding. He doesn't need help in rebounding.
