This is the trip I want to make. I love Japan and visited when I was younger, but seeing Tachibana live and in-person would be the best trip ever. Maybe next year for my vacation.
I’m so jealous that you were able to watch and hear them in person, that’s great... when this Covid-19 is over, I’m going to travel to Kyoto and take a selfie with the band ...yeah!
The Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Marching Band is such a remarkable, magical, and incredible band. There is just simply no marching band in the world like them. As great as marching bands such as Ohio State University is I wouldn’t even drive an hour to see them. As for Tachibana, I, myself would also be more than happy to fly to Japan just to see them. I live near San Francisco and I’ve never been to New York but if Tachibana were to play in New York I would fly there just to see them.
I used to live in Fremont in the San Francisco Bay Area and went to the college there back in the 1970's . I have so many good memories of San Francisco and California. A Japanese friend of mine lives in San Francisco now. I now live at the foot of Mt, Fuji. I hope you'll be able to visit Japan someday.
One day, I will be in Kyoto and will attend a KT band event. Just a question of time. Thank you for sharing your trip experience. What a thrill it must have been!

I just have to agree and join with Mr Miller below in saying; why haven't I found this little gem until now? :D Great video that take me back two year when I went to Japan and Kyoto. I missed KT then because I was there in August and wasn't aware of their existence at the time. But now it is different, the Tachibana Fever is running through my body since then and prehaps I will see them on my next trip to Japan. I liked the different angel you got in the video from the parade, it was nice to see more of the crowd and surroundings. :) I really miss Kyoto, and your video woke a lot of nice memories here. Thanks for the video 👍 I am still astounded and astonished at the packed crowds lining the route in the shopping centre and the amount of people videoing, it must be very daunting for those kids and yet they take it all in their stride👏. If you watch them , they keep eyes straight ahead, ( as you would in concentrating), but every now and again you see one glance to the side and I wonder what they are thinking. Any thoughts on that 😉 The future is bright the future is Orange 🍊
Swerte mo nmn kabayan napanood mo ng personal ang Kyoto Tachibana. They are one of the best High School band in Japan with wonderful student that can play their instruments professionally, great selection of music and the best choreography 🎶😍🇵🇭 I plan to go there next year 😄
This looks like members of class 115 although it's hard to tell for sure. They all look so different in Civilian dress. Wasn't the girl in the trench coat at 6:53 a saxophonist in 115? Did she have a "band" nickname? It would be nice to have a name to go with the image. In a few years most of these faces will have faded from memory, be nice to give some of them recognition before they're forgotten.
@@AjigIbasco And to this day, neither of them says she has any idea how famous she is outside of Japan. Nor do they seem to care, although Chippi has come out of her shell since joining Mita's band. Plus she's 4 years older now.

I've been saving up so I can one day visit Kyoto and hopefully realize my ultimate dream, and that is to one day be able to see KT perform live. If ever that happens it would also be my first time to travel outside of the country. I never had any desire to travel to other countries but all that changed when I discovered KT. Are you allowed to go near them? like take selfies or maybe interview them? I would want to take a group picture with 116, 117 and 118th. Great video and thanks for sharing! I had no plans to interact with the current students, it is for their privacy. As for the graduates, I excused and introduced myself to them, asked permission for the photo and was very happy as they gamely interacted with me. It was a great experience as I learned of KT just last year with class 115 as the seniors.
Enjoyed watching your video, especially the finale of the Tachibana performing and parade. Just a minor critique of the audio. The overall volume did not match with the audio recording of the Tachibana performance. I understand that its a handicap of the Pocket's builtin mic. Nevertheless, I'm envious that you got to see them performing live :- ))
Yes the built-in mic dont do justice to the actual sound. I think even for those who have the proper gears. It is very different when you hear them live. The music, you will feel it. I am glad to have personally experienced it.

The mad scramble of photographers got so bad that towards the end of 2019, the band started prohibiting ALL forms of photography and video at their events. That's why you see so little of them from the middle of 2019 until now (middle of 2020, when the virus has stopped everyone from performing). I don't know if it was because the school objected, or the parents, but no more KT video for a while. :-(
@@demef758 Thanks for that reply. I fully understand the ban. The safety factor alone should be enough to start a ban. However! The school receives lots of publicity because of the video's which might/could lead to the raising of the schools status in Japan. Maybe they could look at maintaining the ban but have an 'in house' camera crew, just one or maybe two people to record the performance. These people could be members of the schools photographic section/club. . . . Just a thought. If there are no more videos it would be sad but I would wish all the school, band and ex band members all the very best for the future.
To watch a live performance from Tachibana is on my to-do list. >_< They are also my favorite marching band! May I ask where do you find the information of when they are performing?
Hi there! There are fan pages that has information on regular and upcoming events the band is participating. I would then also check the pages of the organizers for any detailed event information. For the Kyoto Sakura Parade, I referred to the government website of Kyoto which hosts the event. After getting all the information I needed, I would then plan my travel around it for efficiency. I would recommend to dedicate a whole day to watch any KT event during your visit.

Kyoto looks like a nice city. I would have liked to hear how the alumni are doing. I often wonder what they major in at the university.
Kyoto is a beautiful city, a mix of modern and old Japan. For the band alumni, the path they take after SHS graduation varies.

Hi there! There are fan pages that has information on regular and upcoming events the band is participating. I would then also check the pages of the organizers for any detailed event information. For the Kyoto Sakura Parade, I referred to the government website of Kyoto which hosts the event. After getting all the information I needed, I would then plan my travel around it for efficiency. I would recommend to dedicate a whole day to watch any KT event during your visit.

フィリピンから（大阪経由で）京都まで、さくらパレードを見に来られたんですね。セブパシフィック航空のinternational staff travel？ということは航空関係者かな？操縦席でパイロットと会話してますし（できますし)？ベスパで、観光して、橘高校まで行かれたんですね（見に行ったんですね）、すごいなあ。しかも、交換コンサートでは、なんと115期？のOGの皆さんと記念撮影とは…ああ羨ましい。そのあとのパレードは、さすがに大混雑であとをついていけなかったのかな（全部は見れなったのかも）。でも、素晴らしい3日間（trip）だったようですね。よかったですね。また来てください。ああ、橘のイベントを入れて、こういう（日帰り強行軍でない）旅がしてみたいなあ。本当うらやましい。
