I worked at a little bar that would give us free drinks and food. Free lunch (No steak, lobster $$$ etc) and two beers at the end of your shift or after close. Was a great experience. But they also made it very clear that drinking on the clock was zero tolerance. You would be fired on spot, reported to liquor control and they might seek charges for theft. Its weird to see it on this show.
Drinking on the job isn't a good idea no matter what you do. Especially not at a bar, where you may need to have your wits about you in case you need to deal with drunk customers.
It’s crazy to think like when Bobby first appears on that episode he was acting very lazy and not managing anything and Jon called him out for that... but when it was his turn to take the lead in managing the bar he surprised everyone watching him with how well took care of all the problems that was going on that night and ended up becoming the general manager

3:11 Jon acts differently here, if the owner is ignorant and combative, he shouts at them to get his point across, but here he can see the owner understands the problem but lacks the confidence to put her foot down and fire the problematic employees. Jon doesn't shout without reason, only when all else fails. He's still brutally honest, which is what's needed. But he knows he doesn't need to should cause it's obvious the owner is smart enough to know what needs to be done, just needs that extra push to commit to the action, by reminding the owner that it's not about being mean, it's about protecting their own livelihood and their kids.

I honestly just started watching this show recently and I love everything about it!! Jon Taffer has as much passion as Gordan Ramsay but in a bar setting
I've noticed that on Bar Rescue - i think it was in s3 the girl who cared, but didn't know her measurements or have enough mixology experience. With training she'd have probably been worth something but instead Jon just had her fired for overpour. Everyone behind a bar started somewhere but if you dont train them, they won't learn.
