Installing RK Intakes on my BMW X5M ( Sound clips at the end)

- Hey everyone,
In todays video, I clean and install my new to me RK filters and Carbon Fiber intakes for my X5M. I start off by wiping down and polishing the intakes, and clean out the filters with water and the K&N recharge kit. After, I remove the stock intakes and install my new RK ones. Stick around for the end to hear some clips of how awesome they sound.

also noticed that you still have cold start ( cat heating ) still on. You may get some idle issues on cold start, where it surges for a while. if you do, just turn that setting off in BM3

Do you get a CEL with the catless VRSF downpipes?
Yes you do but as soon as you code it with BM3 it removes the CEL

you are literally doing the same thing Im doing to the x5m. My RK intakes come in a couple of weeks! I dont think they come with the filter sock thing, so I'll probably just pick that up from oriley's. Im also going to be adding foam tape to all the surfaces the intakes touch, just so they dont scratch or move.
Yes! I highly recommend the precharge filters to keep out water
@@Seanhasjokes don’t worry, with how old those filters are they aren’t even letting air through. Buy new filters cmon man! 😊
Do you have any other mods to get that whipped sound on the intakes or is that purely from the intakes alone ?
I do have BM3 stage 2 tune, XHP stage 2 transmission tune, and exhaust at the time of this video but now I’ve got way more upgrades to get me to 888hp

Hey Julez, You honestly don’t need them. After owning two cars with the front mount intakes, and talking to hundreds of people, they are not needed unless you plan on going underwater

I have a question could we drive a car when is rain if we have a filter show like that ? Do a water gonna go into the engine?
Absolutely! Just make sure the pre charge filters are on the intakes
