- Welcome to this Vlog from Dublin Ireland where i decided to kick off the 2020 season in style so i jumped on a cheap Ryanair flight over to Dublin to visit Winter Funderland at the RDS Arena which ran from 26th December 2019 until 12th January 2020.
The event is basically a huge indoor Fun Fair with a good selection of Rides,Stalls and Foodoutlets along with an outdoor area that showcases some of the larger attractions.i'll go into more of whats here later or just jump straight into the Vlog to find out. In terms of how this event works there was a few options. You could pay per ride which averages around 3 euros 50 or purchase a wristband for 39 euros that covers unlimted riding for 3 hours if purchased on the door or if brought online you get an additional 1 hour riding taking it up to 4 hours this is the one i decided to go for and booked online before i visited. I'll include a link below on how to book for future events they do throughout the year.
This time round and it being a last minute trip i'm travelling solo so please forgive me for the lack of banter with unfortunately no Alastair this time but he will be back for when the 2020 season kicks of back in the UK.
In terms of ride offerings WOW!!!! There was alot of machines and none i've ridden before with the exception of what Crow's Amusements brought over including the incredible Exciter ride a Tivoli Warp 10 definitley a Top 10 ride for me, they also brought over Magic Mouse a spinning Reverchon Roller Coaster. However the reason for my visit was to ride something i've been dreaming of riding for many years. A Huss Break Dance and when I found out there was one travelling to the event I had to go. The ride didn't dissapoint its by far one of my favourite rides i've ever ridden definitley check out my second POV of this incredible machine it was running so well the speed was amazing. There's many Break Dance rides on the European circuit however in the UK we are lacking so if you get an opportunity to ride one don't hessitate DO IT!!! This machine was from Holland and owned by Frank Zuidema thats all the information I know but it's a really good one. Further to the other attractions on offer was a lot of rides from Curry's Amusements which is a Irish based Showman which included a Ghost Train,Waltzer,Big Wheel,Caterpiller Coaster,Dogems,IceJet mark II and many Juveniles. There was also other unique attractions from the european scene including a Take Off ride which was nuts, Power Wave Polyp which is like a octopus ride again very enjoyable I loved it and a Pirate Ship from Germany. I've probably missed some attractions out there was that much there but I remember the was also a travelling Log Flume that nobody was riding being January and a Huss Frisbee again I didn't ride it more due to time but I did capture some off ride footage. Throughout the Vlog I capture plenty of off ride footage from all the attractions along with POV's from everything I rode.
On a whole this was a great event and if you love Fun Fairs i'd definitley recommend this one for future dates it was great value with the unlimted riding with wristbands and with most of it being indoors it's perfect for rainy days. If you look hard enough there's always something happening after our Fairs close for the winter season and if i'm honest this event worked out cheaper than travelling to some Fun Fairs in the UK.
I really hope you enjoy this one it's been one of my favourite events i've travelled to basically for the unique selection of rides we generally don't find back home, get yourselves there next year!!!!

Wow love it pal and Zak wood off love it
Thanks mate shame you didn’t join me for this one.
Those waltzers and the take off are iconic grew up with those waltzers since I was a 7/8I’m now 24 haha and take off is iconic to funderland goes to every funderland event across Ireland each year and never fails to give the G force!
A fitting tribute for Zak think he would have been well proud of this one Daz nice vlog Fella.
Thank you mate I hope so.
So good to see you and your handsome mug back in action. What a great line-up of rides for an indoor/outdoor event . . . in January(!). Take Off and Breakdance were incredible. At my home park (long gone), there was a ride called Bubble Bounce. It was very similar to Take Off, but the cars were four-person units. The platform went up at 45-degrees, but then it bounced up and down as it spun around, so the rider got both positive and negative G forces.
Thank you Grady yeah was a great line up of rides glad you enjoyed it.
🎉
fantastic vlog so many fantastic rides the break dance is awesome
Thank you Trevor highly recommend this event if you can get to one in the future.
Don't forget about the Irn Bru Carnival in Glasgow! which was also on until the 12th
Did this event a long time ago Daz, we had inside the Huss Booster which is now Loffelhardt's original Ghost Rider! Also Meyer's Formula 1 Break Dance & Flying Carpet from Switzerland and Reinhard van der Veen's No 1 Snow Jet Matterhorn (not the one which goes Hyde Park). Outside was a then brand new Star Flyer which is now Abie Danter's.
That sounds a great line up and it seems it was a better event back then. Still enjoyed the event and still got on some unique rides we don’t see on the uk scene.
Back in the eighties and early nineties a breakdance used to go to Loughborough fair, good memories
We loose so many good rides over time

Thank you glad you enjoyed the show!
Good vlog there Daz bud 😎 👌
Thank you
Enjoyed the break dance a lot! I think the ride op let our ride go a little longer than it should have, which was great!
Amazing ride definitely in my top 10

Brilliant vlog daz keep up the good work 👍👍
Thank you can’t wait for the 2020 season to kick in.
Hope there will be plenty of new rides in 2020
les Lancaster me too!
Was just on Break Dance yesterday. So much fun ! But one time was enough to get the adrenaline going. I couldn’t imagine going on it without holding onto the bar 😄☘
Head down to black pool south pier jump on their amazing breakdance it’s a beauty
Ridden it although it’s a good ride it’s not a classic Huss model.
Take off daz reminds me of that thing they put you in for the g force when you go into space lol looks a great fair:)
Crazy ride very intense
Love the break dance although would of looked really good with a nice backflash with break dancers on it one I used to operate back in 96 was brilliant I have o picture somewhere of it just loved the noise of it speeding up great video 👍🙂
Les thank you glad you enjoyed it. The Breakdance in question is a Breakdance 3 model and these are slightly smaller especially made for travelling around and for that reason they don’t come with a back flash. However I agree the ride would look better!
Ps if you can find the photo I’d love to see it.
@@TripsWithDaz yer as soon as I find it I will
Since you have arm-band you should go on the ghost train, haunted houses etc normally like you do, but then you should go back on with a flash light so we at home, can see it all in its glory.. :P
Keep up the great work that you do.
hope you read these.
William Houghton owns the Break Dance that’s under construction at the moment. Hopefully it will make its uk debut next month at Team Valley funfair.
Thank you I hit a blank when mentioning it haha even though I’m following it’s progress through Facebook.
I really can’t wait to have a ride on it.
No problem Daz. I’ve been enjoying seeing the updates myself should be a mean machine when up and running.
Stuart McKelvie yeah such awesome rides you can make them really stand out by putting on a good show along with music and lights. It’s become my favourite ride experience since actually getting on one.
Ye❤
I'm going there tomorrow is take off good
Have a great time! Yes Take Off is amazing 😊
How dark is the ghost train what's the magic mouse like what's the rocking boat like ?
