Here is some realistic career advice:
Never opt for arts stream or go for any arts related courses. You will regret it for the rest of your life. Careers in Arts/humanities are not that plentiful or lucrative. This is the situation even in developed countries. Majority of the regretted degrees around the world are in the arts/humanities stream.
Talking about preparing for govt jobs, you can get a government job even if you have a degree in STEM or business and the variety of jobs available will be a lot more. The chances of going abroad will also be limited if you take arts courses. In fact, a lot of schools in India don't offer arts stream.
So guys, avoid arts at all costs. Get realistic guidance and select a better career.

I am thankful more and more youtubers and talking about this matter. I feel like the biggest issue is absolutely population, millions of young men and women graduate each year in various fields. Offcourse govt can only create a finite no of jobs. Also not to mention the interior politics like corruption, paper leakages, nepotism, cash for jobs etc.
Honestly if my parents have decided my future in medical or engineering I would have been better off commerce has literally no options for me

Brother the problem is schooling. Till 8th class it is fine. But see how in the West study is done. There are certain specialties like agriculture carpentry Stem Medical etc where it is skill orientated. A normal guy needs to do taxes etc, but that student is still learning english hindi maths science which has no use in real life as except for a pgt teacher. A normal guy has learnt the basics in 8th standard. We need skill focused education. Those who are earning good today learnt coding, or a skill or cracked a govt job. Rest are in the bracket of 10- 30 k who are in private structure with no work life balance. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone you need to come out of job mindset. India need good skill education and variety, also good entrepreneurs.
Skill develop kar ke aap robots and AI ko aur majboot karoge jo mass scale pe bachi kuchi naukri kah jaiga. Phir naukri naukri karoge . Job dene wala phir skill level badha dega. Aap aur skill sikhoge aur AI etc ko phir strengthen karoge. Aur yea cycle chalta rahega without solution if we follow your recomended solution.

The education system is also worst culprit, the only emphasis is on rote learning since nursery. No practical skills are taught which are necessary to survive and make money. A traditional degree like bsc, ba, bcom is realistically useless today, if you don't have some kind of technical skill. Now we do have a lot of iti's for that but unfortunately they are poorly maintained. No proper funding, no proper classes just like govt run schools
This is misleading. It’s not 90% youth unemployed. The actual data says among the unemployed people(8.1% of India’s population), 83% is youth. There is a difference man. Overall unemployment rate in India in 2024 is 8.1% among which 83% of them are youth. 8.1% of adults is let’s say 8 crores then approx 6 crores are unemployed as per the data but the catch here is this data includes people who are still studying like 18- 21 years old who usually don’t work. On the other hand with your statement which is 90% youth is unemployed, lets calculate: 60% of India is below 30 years old which is like 85 crores. let’s say youth with working age means 18-30 years old, which is like 40 crores (removing the non eligible people for voting during elections approx 45crores) then according to you 36 crores are unemployed? That’s incorrect data man. You see the difference between the first calculation which was 6cr and your calculations which is 36cr.. ? just google it and don’t misread the data and don’t mislead the people.

And coming to the govt jobs, people are obsessed with govt jobs for a long time especially in the north. If you spend so many years for the govt job prep you are losing so much of youth, energy, time in just pursuing the govt jobs. It is not the lack of private jobs. It’s just people want job security of govt jobs. Also, our problem is a lot of us don’t wanna be job creators. We just wanna be job seekers. Atleast now things are changing and start ups have increased to 1 lakh from 100 in 2014. And yes as you mentioned MSMEs ( small medium enterprises) are also jobs and job creators.. that’s how jobs are created. Mudra loans have benefited some 36 crores people in last 10 years which are basically MSMEs.. btw congress also had this mudra loan type schemes for MSMEs in their manifesto, which basically has been happening already in bjp govt in last few years. So point is please go into the details and not get emotional.

My simple question from an engineering college for example roughly around 500 students graduate. One manufacturing company employs on average 200 300 people.. But if you make 10 engineering colleges then 5000 students graduate.. to get employment then 12 - 15 companies need to be setup..

1. Govt should reduce the salary of govt employees by straight 50%.
2. There should be an upper limit of the salary of the govt employees.
If this happens, then a lot of youth will not choose to stay unemployed till they crack a govt job. The problem with our youth is that they see some of their friends getting a govt job and a handsome salary. So they also choose to stay unemployed till they get a job like that.
