  • The police have barred the protesters who are in their small numbers from holding a procession beyond the designated ground at Gani Fawehinmi park, Ojota.
The protesters complied without argument and returned to the designated point.
At the moment, there are policemen than protesters in Ojota area of Lagos.
We also observe that there are free and somewhat heavy vehicular movements around Berger, Ikeja, Ojota, and environs.

I am sure the police salary is not more than 150K, hardly. They are also protesting on behalf of the police and his family. From the look of things they’re also law abiding citizens having peaceful demonstrations.

The citizens want to see the president take some immediate actions ON their requests, to relieve their pains & anguish, not to list out "virtual achievements & future plans", which are not currently reflecting on the life of the masses/average citizens on the street! .
The speech, more disdainfully, reeling out high (fund) figures, completely un-imaginable by an average citizen, with newly reviewed N70k per month wage. Of what use will a "N15 Trillion Lagos-Calabar Highway" be to the impoverished, hungry citizens, who can hardly afford a meal a day?
Obviously, it will only benefit, by generating more money to the coffers of the private highway contractor!
Govt. seems not to understand the problems of the masses, relieve their urgent pains & meet the genuine demands sought by the citizens, to ensure peace. Which basically are:
    1. Reduce Fuel Price...
Do immediate crude oil swap arrangements with local refineries( eg. Dangote refinery - after all, Nigeria has a stake in it..!?), to refine & supply fuel for domestic use. Fuel is not only used for transportation, but it virtually drive, all other economic activities; since there's no regular supply of electricity. Currently, a litre of fuel costs N1300-N1800 across the Nation. How will an average citizen operate their business successfully with that, since regular electricity supply, is presently a luxury?
Immediate measurereduce fuel price by supply from local refinery, from swap of OPEC allotted "domestic use" crude oil.
    2. Provide Affordable Food:
As an urgent, temporary measure, import grains & distribute DIRECTLY to citizens via Govt. Store (ref.NNPC gas stations during fuel scarcity periods in the past), rather than being given to "Govt. officers" that stockpile & misappropriate these, converting to private use on most occasion.
Permanent measure like Govt. support of Agric. activities, like the collaboration between Kebbi & Lagos States in the production of affordable "LaKe Rice" , among others, is worth revisiting.
    3. Reduce Costs of Governance:
Drastically reduce the insulting bogus salaries & ridiculous allowances of National Assembly members & Govt. appointees. Reduce the size of govt. appointees, aides, political jobbers & hanger-ons. Esp. in the current tight economic climes, and use this to fund populace infrastructure eg. education & healthcare.
Politics should not be a carrier, but a service like NYSC. Let assembly members be paid on pro-rata basis, as per sitting attendance. Let politics be a part time jobs & national service - esp. for National Assembly members. Let everyone get a profession, carrier & individual jobs - and not live on National Treasury, as a lazy scum & leech!
    4. Fund Education;
Give Students, GRANTS, BURSARY & SCHORLARSHIPS, rather than loans. Don't give loans with unattainable terms & conditions. Student Loan, that can never be accessed by those who very much need it. For instance, how many poor indigent students, will be able to get a level 14 Govt worker to guarantee their loan? Instead, give Students Bursary (all students), Grants (for indigents) & Scholarships (on merits)! Fund education & other social infrastructure, but leave issue of loans to Commrcial banks. "Govt. has no business being in business"..!
Doing all the above immediately, will bring desired instant peace to the Nation. It's of no use, reeling out programs, (like party manifesto), and referring to "political "opponents who lost election" as culprits, as if still on election campaign season, won't do. Hunger & economic hardship are strong unifying factors - very blind to tribe, religion, ethnicity, party affliations...and can be very explosive, if not timely assuaged!
All the above are remedial measures that can be put in a place immediately, even by fiat, and do not require years of deliberations, before implementation!

You are on point. Let me add this one tackle insecurity decisively by declaring state of emergency on security of lives and properties. Remove any service chief who do not meet up the required demand and target. No time for jokes. At least let our farmers go back to farm.

The police are not collecting tips from the protesters. I traveled from Lagos to Imo State a week ago, and my driver was giving tips to the police for every mile we drove. I was ashamed of Nigeria.

Tinubu is the only person among the 2023 contestants who can fix Nigeria at this time. Military cannot solve Nigeria's problems. They are the one who started this in 1966 (Ibo coup).
