As someone who tries to avoid all the negativity that surrounds Marvel Snap, I think making a video of your thoughts would still be helpful to the community. On Twitter, I find everything to be so negative all the time that I try to avoid the community, but I believe that your video would be much more level headed and helpful than that (even if I would still personally avoid it, I'm a F2P player who just plays and watches videos in my free time, so the negative aspects of the games don't feel worth investing in)
I resonate with that feeling and really appreciate the feedback!! I wouldn’t bash the game too hardly but rather explain my changes in expectations based on trends in the game and development cycle, then explain how I’d be approaching snap content moving forward

I’ve purchased every season pass, all of the pro bundles & more. I don’t fault the company for having micro transactions available, but the inflation of the content cost versus its perceived value is certainly out of line. I mean 2200 Gold for an emote?! The greed has become outlandish. Second Dinner can certainly do better than this.

On this note... @Drewberry_Snap... i usually avoid the negativity and overreactions but remember watching a video from someone when MMM was nerfed.. (which for me it was good riddance for him)... he said... "if you want or need to do this kinds of nerfs do them, BUT DONT DO THEM WITH NEW CARDS"... and i thought he was right... although he was angry it wasnt an overreaction or just critisizing SD or the game... it was a good argument... and i remember with time SD reversed some of that decision and made corrections to their workflow so that it wouldnt happen... i think SD has great community support and pays attention... they also explain the logic behind their choices... be it nerfs or buffs... and they are actively working bts to add more stuff to the game... they will be monetized some way or another but they have a pretty good balance and try to not make it too much P2W... although sometimes it is... i dont know... they make bad decisions sometimes and its stupidly expensive... but i trust them... and trust their intentions, money aside.
I’d love to hear your extended thoughts on the patch. I think it’s important for both the good and the bad to get out there. The game is fantastic in a lot of ways, but the monetization is skewing closer to a run of the mill scummy mobile game month over month, and man, Marvel Snap should be better than that.
Completely agree. I’ve always said that I expect more from snap to surpass the mobile game stereotype because I truly feel that they have the capacity and foundation to do so… but they keep layering on more currencies, monetization and fomo traps… I swear with the way they monetize, I would think they’re bankrupt lmao
@@Drewberry_Gaming It's the combination of SD's ramping up of monetization and the clear lack of testing when they put out an update that has me nervous for the game's future. Not only questionable balance changes but also introducing new bugs every update. I can't shake the feeling they're trying to ramp up monetization now while scaling back development because they don't have faith in the community's longevity. And if it's not the case they need to work on communication because they're coming off very cold and business-driven to anyone actually playing the game, despite their wacky season announcements.
No the Community is full of Impulsive impatient entitled children who don't understand how to Moderate their spending expenses or vote with their wallets and Voices properly The game is extremely F2P Friendly and has a pretty good track record of communication and Doing what the community wants, eventually they have to treat the product like a business to Run the Game long-term. Nah bro sorry that ain’t it. This game has made a name for itself by being communicative and open to their fan base. We speak they listen. The fan base of people who have devoted millions of dollars to them and millions of hours collectively have every right to voice their opinion. 2200 on an emote is something that I am shocked anyone can even begin to attempt to justify. Cosmetic or not, it’s grotesquely over priced and takes away from the faith of the game as a whole and is insulting to the players
Makkari is a free 3 Cost card for Surfer and a free 3 Power card for Cerebro 3. Not only is it good, I think it'll be meta on both of those decks (for sure in Cerebro 3).
Surfer, absolutely. Cerebro is a weird one because Makkari helps gain priority; and that is somewhat counterintuitive to C3. C3 is not a deck that wants priority typically because you want that Valkyrie to wreck the opponent's board later on. If Makkari helps you gain priority, Valk's impact is hindered.
@@OratoryJamesIV I get what you are saying, but Makkari is only 3 Power. Sure, depending on the turn and position, it can screw you over. But I don't think it's that hard to lose priority by turn 6 if you play it right.
@@Broncomat12 Why? Current decks almost always get a spare 3 Cost in hand by the end of the game. This makes it into the board. Look, I'm not saying it's broken, I'm saying it's decent enough and can make the cut on most builds (in my opinion).
Makkari for sure is great in Surfer and could potentially pair well with the newly changed StrongGuy, since it makes it even easier to get down to 1 or less cards in hand. Can definitely see a new Surfer deck coming.
Sersi can be an alternate tech condition for an Annihilus deck. If you're facing a mirror match, Debri-Hazmat junk deck, or your Annihilus won't come out, Sersi can flip some of those bad cards into something a little better.

Brood is going to be amazing in June Sersi with Brood is such an amazing combo 8 energy for a 7 power and 3 random 4 costs 8 energy to get 17 energy (5 + 3 * 4)
Yeah funny enough I actually think that in the eternals season Brood might get to shine outside of Silver Surfer. You can buff Brood to help Gilgamesh or just use him as a fodder for Sersi.
I'm frustrated too, man. With all the monetization success, I don't feel like it's being invested back into the game. The new glitches, saying you improved card customization but nothing changed, new cosmetics are trumping quality improvements and the game feels bloated to me.
Hey Drewberry, LOVE your content, I always come here first for the data mined cards! Your monthly graphic is best! So good, other content creators use it, and give credit where it’s due. Thank you for all you do for the community! But I’ve recently been frustrated by the monetization choices Second Dinner have made and the community needs a video on the frustrations that you and many devoted players like myself have.
Man, I think Sersi is being slept on. Let's say you only play her on Brood's lane. In an avarage scenario, all those three cards will turn into 5 or 6 power cards (avarage power for a 4 cost). That makes her a 5/16 or a 5/19. Sure, you can get unlucky and get like Attuma, Mr Negative and Jubilee, but you can also get super lucky and get Cull, Crossbones and Black Cat. If you get the worst (Mr Negative), the best (Cull/Crossbones) and a below avarage power (like Supergiant) 4 costs, she's still a 5/15. You can also play her in junk. You put both The Hood and The Void on the right, then you have two options: you either try to send them over with Annihilus if you feel like your opponent can't fill or you just play Sersi and most likely win that lane anyway. And these are just two possible interactions. She's gotta be AT LEAST 3.5 stars. She'll probably surprise a lot of people's expectations just like Legion did.
The rocks from Debrii are also decent targets for Sersi. Maybe Selene. I mean, Void is definitely the big one (and 4-costs seem like the safest targets?), but still, it's nice to know you can probably hit 3 (otherwise low-value) cards with her about every time.
It's gonna be a very stressful card to use that's why. You have to hope for no discard or destroy cards or whatever else would be useless and/or hurtful.
Makkari might be good for Silver Surfer, it's an extra 3-cost on the board to get a buff from surfer. Or you could use it with Strong Guy as a hand-thinner.
I feel like the only two decks Mekkari could work are a surfer deck just so you could get that free three cost card on the board, and in a deck with the newly buffed strong guy since you want your hand as empty as possible
Idk think c3 could benefit from her too though that list has always been kinda tight as far as it has a lot of solid options as is. But cerebro having a card that comes out for free has always been nice be it Brood or otherwise
makkari, strong guy, sword master, siff, proxima (as the top end of the deck to combo with sif) in a surfer body could be something, maybe a tier 2 deck?
Some of my thoughts on the cards: Gilgamesh- I think he's going to be amazing with Bast and in general in Sera Miracle deck since you can reduce his cost while managing to buff other cards. Makarri- I highly disagree with you on her mainly because of Silver Surfer. If you get her out early then you're good and if you get her out late you're still good. You can also pair her up with the likes of Okoye and Nakia to buff her even further and she can also help you conetest a location you usually can't access. Thena- going to be a dope card for bounce, especially if you hit her with Bast. Sersi- I think she'll preform the best in a junk deck since you can use her to transform the Void, Hood and rocks from Debrii into actual cards so you're fine with anything you'd get from her. Phastos- I think he'll do really well in an handbuff deck since you can use him for example to cheat out Black Panther early or even buff him thus making him a 5/12 with his effect. He also has an obvious synergy with Gilgamesh. Arishem- probably a meme card but seems really fun. Can work really well with Blob, Okoye, Quinjet and Mockingbird. Not to mention he hard counters Zemo but also is a free win for Darkhawk.
Arishem seems amazing to me as a lover of random cards! I love adapting my playstyle! That would be cool on its own but it ALSO gets extra energy FOR FREE?! I WANT IT!

And couldn’t thank you enough for all the information and even your opinions and value them a little more as your truly honest on how you feel towards things.
Always love Drew's positivity. No matter how bad the game is, he will always find a way to make interesting content about it. That being said, this game for me is really not good right now. I got to about 83 this season and just lost interest playing. Didn't buy the season pass (and haven't spent any money on it since last season). Felt the cards have either been really annoying (like Zemo that created that annoying mill deck that just makes me wanna rage quit the match), or disappointing (like US agent). There hasn't even been an attempt to create new content in the form of games modes or in general make the game more dynamic or exciting. Literally all they seem to be interested in is ways to monetize the game further. Now please- I don't need some smarty pants telling me the game needs to make money. I GET IT OK! But when a game is doesn't have anything real to offer except expensive bundles, emotes, or cosmetics- coupled by the fact the game play is just less fun after each new season. You wonder why even bother playing the game.
Finally someone hits the nail on the head for why I’m upset with this patch!! Everyone seems to think I don’t like the nerfs.. I don’t love them but I don’t really care. It’s exactly as you described, the lack of interesting features or additions to the game to pull back in my interest! Last season without even realizing, I didn’t even finish the season pass track lmao just goes to show how little I’ve been playing lately and it’s decreasing month over month. They need to add a new hook or else I think a lot of folks will drop off!
Definitely want to hear your thoughts on the game. Thought I was alone in thinking that I have been looking for something much larger in these patches to keep me playing. Over the past several months it kinda has been the same thing. I heard awhile back challenging missions specific to cards for really cool effects, and I could really sink some time into that, but otherwise I get to infinite and then barely play until the next season.
Random cards are fun and you can win with random cards for sure and I have a lot. Loki decks are a big example but even random locations can give you good ones. But Arishem ALSO gives +1 energy?! ARISHEM IS MY FAVORITE CARD YET IF IT STAYS THE SAME!😁💓
i mean the wording on gilgamesh is pretty straight forward. i would be surprised if it didnt work with ongoing buffs as it does not say “permanent” increased power or anything like that. blarvel into gilgamesh is strong but in reality he’ll be in the ballpark of a big darkhawk, ronin, or devil dino.
Hey Drew, I’ve been playing Snap since launch and I’ve consumed a lot of Snap content over that time and checked out lots of different creators! You’ve easily become my favorite! I truly appreciate your honesty, your authenticity and transparency (i.e. following your own snap and pass). Please let us know your honest thoughts about the patch ! Snap has a special place in my heart but it’s also been a frustrating experience for me seeing the direction it’s been going in for the last half year or so
4:43 Blue Marvel doesn't actually give increased power like Rescue does. It's only temporary. So Silver Surfer and Rescue and stuff would definitely contribute to Gilgamesh but Blue Marvel won't, knowing previous game rules. Same with Sebastian Shaw
I think Makkari should be "Run to the lowest power Location in the end of the Game/Turn (Deck or Hand)". Phastos look so OP with that Ability for Surfer. Thena sure will be amazing with Bounce or Deck like Elsa, Zoo, Kitty.
I think the Negative interaction works with Gilgamesh. The way I see it, if you tap the card and the power is green, the power is increased and follows that text.
I find funny how maybe Ikaris the "elf kid" and the mind controlling guy from Eternals could be in a next month with another Celestial or maybe Deviants 😮😮😮

The Eternals month looks insane, I can't wait for it. I want basically all of the cards and I have so few keys 😭 Exiles month looks hella weak so after scooping up Red Guardian, I'm saving all my keys until the Eternals arrive.
ARISHEM is most likely the most mid card on planet earth, but you'll 100% be finding me spending as many keys as I need to unlock him cuz wow talk about a super fun agatha esque textbox. and Phastos's text while random seems REALLY strong in surfer. Those will be my two pickups for that month for sure.
I don't typically enjoy locations like District X or Mindscape but Arishem looks like it'll be a lot more fun because it adds extra cards to your deck instead of replacing them
i think he will be a bit better than it seems random cards are terrible, but you got good cards (the ones you put in) half the time, and an extra energy goes a long way to offset the bad side and to improve your already good list i think he will have some impact in the meta if loki is ever good again

A wong, mystique, white tiger lane that plays sersi on turn 6 would presumably change all of them into 6 costs (or that 7 cost guy) after activating a few times, and if the random cards are on reveals, you would get the effects 9 different times
The fun cards in this month (12 random cards guy, Hammer guy and +1 Cost girl) seem really fun. Thanks Drewberry for getting this out DAY OF the patch.

Patch was 💩 BUT the datamine was the best part about snap today. Arishem, Phastos, and Makkari are my favorites so far. I'll be saving for that specifically.
IF Gilgamesh works with Ongoing effects (which I assume due to the lack of “permanent” condition in his On reveal), he will be insane in Zoo. If you fill 9 spots by turn 5 (which is pretty easy to do with squirrel girl and shanna), then play Blarvel on 5 and 1-drop + Gilgamesh on 6, he will be 22 power. Going wide and then extremely tall in one spot is a very good strategy.
Makkari would be pretty good in both Surfer and C3. Just a free extra body for buffs. And since you will first draw her, in the rare cases where she could screw you over (like Bar with NN) you can just play her normally to prevent that. A pretty straightforward and good card imo.
Arishem is very interesting. Most ramp decks do nothing til turn 3 if they happen to draw a ramp piece. But with Arishem you can start playing 2 drops on turn 1 and 3 drop turn 2. I think that might be way stronger than we think.
I'd add that Forge > Brood into Gilgamesh later automatically makes him a 5/8. If you are playing Phastos you will probably want Magik for an extra draw on turn 7.
The mister negative on Gilgamesh is a cool concept, if it works that way. Plus, as a 5/2 he fits perfect in that mold. Gilgamesh is gonna cook in June! Great video my man, love your enthusiasm.
No ikaris either! Thought he’d be a shoe in (I’m also a bit sad that my favorite eternals were left out, but that’s more understandable since druig and sprite aren’t as popular overall)

I could see Makkari working in a C3 or Valkyrie focused deck since she is free to the board. But yeah that's about it. Honestly lackluster month on both the new cards and the returning cards in caches. I don't know how SD consistently doesn't put the cards I'm missing in the caches so I can get them but they do lol
I disagree with Sersi rating... Maybe one more star in general... For example, in junk decks that run the hood, the void, the rocks (debri), black widow, white widow, etc. she could be the mvp if you don't draw Annihilus.
I'm looking forward to trying Makkari in a destroy deck. Free 3 power to eat. Also planning to use Gilgamesh in a zoo deck. Turn 4 Ka-zar, turn 5 Gilgmesh with a boatload of boosted 1 drops could be insane.
If makari's text was 0/3: you must play this the turn you draw it & when you play this, it it is played to a random location people would think it would be broken... but I can only see it being played in a surfer deck and probably getting cut or being a lower tier version of the surfer deck
I totally misread Makkari's text. Initially I thought she read 'After each turn, run to a random location (if able)' and that sounded like a really cool option to plug into a move deck with Kraven. But now you've explained it, yeah she sounds like total crap. Also, talk about power creep on M'Baku - poor guy has less power and even he can't jump from your hand. That said, I am super excited for Eternals. Love the characters overall, and Gilgamesh, Phastos and Thena all look like fantastic yet balanced cards. Something tells me Shadow King is going to be doing the rounds in June though!
Thena feels like just another Angela in Kitty decks. She doesn’t really inspire me to get too creative. Instead, I’m just inspired to dust off my Shadow King to poop on her. Makkari seems overlooked a little bit. If you toss her into a Shaw style surfer deck that has things like Okoye she can grow to more than 3 power. Free cards jumping on to the board, like Proxima has shown, can be more surprising than we think. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m done underestimating “free” things
Thinking of the value of some of the bundles under $30 makes the emote costs a real slap in the face. That's 3 months' worth of season passes. That's normally 3 whole cards, some gold and credits. I closed/re-opened the game when I saw it, thought it was a bug.
I think Phastos as an alternative condition for Mr negative/negative surfer would be good. sure ravonna helps, but this gives a power boost and discount like negative
Zoo is revived with Magik Blue Marvel Gilgamesh + AbsorbingMan. You don't have to worry about final turn Killmonger because Gilgamesh and AbsorbingMan is so high power, you don't even care about your 1 cost cards
Regis mentioned gilgamesh could be a new version or piece to black panther/zola combo... He also assume that aura buffs would count towards gilgamesh but his power is tentative until we know

Hear me out……Sersi….she should’ve been a 5 cost, 4 power card-On reveal: turn the lowest cost card from your opponent’s side of this location into a random material. Materials: Rock(1 cost, 0 power) Vibranium(1 cost, 4 power) Wood(3 cost, 3 power) Water(4 cost, 6 power) Gold(6 cost, 10 power) I’m just saying man, sersi could’ve had more potential than this. She’s cool now but I think the way I envisioned her made more sense
I've created a really fun deck that specifically revolves around adding power to cards since Sebastian Shaw came out; my big question is how Gilgamesh would interact with cards like Blue Marvel or locations like Xandar (i think that's the one) that add non-permanent power to cards.
This patch is the first time I have started to look at my investment in the game and begun to regret it and fear for where the game is going… really a bummer
You should definitely make a video about the state of the game, disappointing patches and balance changes no one asked for or needs , the molasses slow rate of much needed implementations , etc.
Gilgamesh in a zoo deck. Kazar, blue marvel, and then gilgamesh!! Plus mocking bird. Patriot Zoo easy fit for crazy power! Ongoing does work for gilgamesh because Shaw's text says Permanent power and this card does not say that. Any power so ongoing should work.
Eternals have been also a overlooked group of characters, great they're getting spotlight in the game

Makkari is a free 3 Cost card for Surfer and a free 3 Power card for Cerebro 3. Not only is it good, I think it'll be meta on both of those decks (for sure in Cerebro 3).
Surfer, absolutely. Cerebro is a weird one because Makkari helps gain priority; and that is somewhat counterintuitive to C3. C3 is not a deck that wants priority typically because you want that Valkyrie to wreck the opponent's board later on. If Makkari helps you gain priority, Valk's impact is hindered.
@@OratoryJamesIV I get what you are saying, but Makkari is only 3 Power. Sure, depending on the turn and position, it can screw you over. But I don't think it's that hard to lose priority by turn 6 if you play it right.

@@Broncomat12 Why? Current decks almost always get a spare 3 Cost in hand by the end of the game. This makes it into the board. Look, I'm not saying it's broken, I'm saying it's decent enough and can make the cut on most builds (in my opinion).
Makkari for sure is great in Surfer and could potentially pair well with the newly changed StrongGuy, since it makes it even easier to get down to 1 or less cards in hand. Can definitely see a new Surfer deck coming.
Sersi can be an alternate tech condition for an Annihilus deck.
If you're facing a mirror match, Debri-Hazmat junk deck, or your Annihilus won't come out, Sersi can flip some of those bad cards into something a little better.

Yeah funny enough I actually think that in the eternals season Brood might get to shine outside of Silver Surfer. You can buff Brood to help Gilgamesh or just use him as a fodder for Sersi.
I can already see the Broods turning into 3 Sentry's and clogging two lanes and than the opponent plays Shang Chi final turn gg.

I'm frustrated too, man. With all the monetization success, I don't feel like it's being invested back into the game. The new glitches, saying you improved card customization but nothing changed, new cosmetics are trumping quality improvements and the game feels bloated to me.
Hey Drewberry, LOVE your content, I always come here first for the data mined cards! Your monthly graphic is best! So good, other content creators use it, and give credit where it’s due. Thank you for all you do for the community! But I’ve recently been frustrated by the monetization choices Second Dinner have made and the community needs a video on the frustrations that you and many devoted players like myself have.
Man, I think Sersi is being slept on. Let's say you only play her on Brood's lane. In an avarage scenario, all those three cards will turn into 5 or 6 power cards (avarage power for a 4 cost). That makes her a 5/16 or a 5/19.
Sure, you can get unlucky and get like Attuma, Mr Negative and Jubilee, but you can also get super lucky and get Cull, Crossbones and Black Cat. If you get the worst (Mr Negative), the best (Cull/Crossbones) and a below avarage power (like Supergiant) 4 costs, she's still a 5/15.
You can also play her in junk. You put both The Hood and The Void on the right, then you have two options: you either try to send them over with Annihilus if you feel like your opponent can't fill or you just play Sersi and most likely win that lane anyway.
And these are just two possible interactions. She's gotta be AT LEAST 3.5 stars. She'll probably surprise a lot of people's expectations just like Legion did.
The rocks from Debrii are also decent targets for Sersi. Maybe Selene. I mean, Void is definitely the big one (and 4-costs seem like the safest targets?), but still, it's nice to know you can probably hit 3 (otherwise low-value) cards with her about every time.
It's gonna be a very stressful card to use that's why. You have to hope for no discard or destroy cards or whatever else would be useless and/or hurtful.
I appreciate your non-optimistic view on second dinner and the game in general, too many people are overly optimistic

Makkari might be good for Silver Surfer, it's an extra 3-cost on the board to get a buff from surfer.
Or you could use it with Strong Guy as a hand-thinner.
One real application for Makkari is in a surfer deck. Really the only deck I could see her go in effectively.

I feel like the only two decks Mekkari could work are a surfer deck just so you could get that free three cost card on the board, and in a deck with the newly buffed strong guy since you want your hand as empty as possible
Idk think c3 could benefit from her too though that list has always been kinda tight as far as it has a lot of solid options as is. But cerebro having a card that comes out for free has always been nice be it Brood or otherwise
makkari, strong guy, sword master, siff, proxima (as the top end of the deck to combo with sif) in a surfer body could be something, maybe a tier 2 deck?
Some of my thoughts on the cards:
Gilgamesh- I think he's going to be amazing with Bast and in general in Sera Miracle deck since you can reduce his cost while managing to buff other cards.
Makarri- I highly disagree with you on her mainly because of Silver Surfer. If you get her out early then you're good and if you get her out late you're still good. You can also pair her up with the likes of Okoye and Nakia to buff her even further and she can also help you conetest a location you usually can't access.
Thena- going to be a dope card for bounce, especially if you hit her with Bast.
Sersi- I think she'll preform the best in a junk deck since you can use her to transform the Void, Hood and rocks from Debrii into actual cards so you're fine with anything you'd get from her.
Phastos- I think he'll do really well in an handbuff deck since you can use him for example to cheat out Black Panther early or even buff him thus making him a 5/12 with his effect. He also has an obvious synergy with Gilgamesh.
Arishem- probably a meme card but seems really fun. Can work really well with Blob, Okoye, Quinjet and Mockingbird. Not to mention he hard counters Zemo but also is a free win for Darkhawk.
Arishem seems amazing to me as a lover of random cards! I love adapting my playstyle! That would be cool on its own but it ALSO gets extra energy FOR FREE?! I WANT IT!

My favorite part is that I don't like any of June's new card's spotlight variants, so I can save up on tokens that month and only use keys.
Always love Drew's positivity. No matter how bad the game is, he will always find a way to make interesting content about it. That being said, this game for me is really not good right now. I got to about 83 this season and just lost interest playing. Didn't buy the season pass (and haven't spent any money on it since last season). Felt the cards have either been really annoying (like Zemo that created that annoying mill deck that just makes me wanna rage quit the match), or disappointing (like US agent).
There hasn't even been an attempt to create new content in the form of games modes or in general make the game more dynamic or exciting. Literally all they seem to be interested in is ways to monetize the game further. Now please- I don't need some smarty pants telling me the game needs to make money. I GET IT OK! But when a game is doesn't have anything real to offer except expensive bundles, emotes, or cosmetics- coupled by the fact the game play is just less fun after each new season. You wonder why even bother playing the game.
Finally someone hits the nail on the head for why I’m upset with this patch!! Everyone seems to think I don’t like the nerfs.. I don’t love them but I don’t really care. It’s exactly as you described, the lack of interesting features or additions to the game to pull back in my interest! Last season without even realizing, I didn’t even finish the season pass track lmao just goes to show how little I’ve been playing lately and it’s decreasing month over month. They need to add a new hook or else I think a lot of folks will drop off!
Definitely want to hear your thoughts on the game. Thought I was alone in thinking that I have been looking for something much larger in these patches to keep me playing. Over the past several months it kinda has been the same thing. I heard awhile back challenging missions specific to cards for really cool effects, and I could really sink some time into that, but otherwise I get to infinite and then barely play until the next season.
Random cards are fun and you can win with random cards for sure and I have a lot. Loki decks are a big example but even random locations can give you good ones. But Arishem ALSO gives +1 energy?! ARISHEM IS MY FAVORITE CARD YET IF IT STAYS THE SAME!😁💓
i mean the wording on gilgamesh is pretty straight forward. i would be surprised if it didnt work with ongoing buffs as it does not say “permanent” increased power or anything like that. blarvel into gilgamesh is strong but in reality he’ll be in the ballpark of a big darkhawk, ronin, or devil dino.
To be fair, there's probably not room in the text box, and "permanently increased Power" is kinda clunky anyway.

4:43 Blue Marvel doesn't actually give increased power like Rescue does. It's only temporary. So Silver Surfer and Rescue and stuff would definitely contribute to Gilgamesh but Blue Marvel won't, knowing previous game rules. Same with Sebastian Shaw
I think Makkari should be "Run to the lowest power Location in the end of the Game/Turn (Deck or Hand)". Phastos look so OP with that Ability for Surfer. Thena sure will be amazing with Bounce or Deck like Elsa, Zoo, Kitty.
I think the Negative interaction works with Gilgamesh. The way I see it, if you tap the card and the power is green, the power is increased and follows that text.
I find funny how maybe Ikaris the "elf kid" and the mind controlling guy from Eternals could be in a next month with another Celestial or maybe Deviants 😮😮😮

Exiles month looks hella weak so after scooping up Red Guardian, I'm saving all my keys until the Eternals arrive.
ARISHEM is most likely the most mid card on planet earth, but you'll 100% be finding me spending as many keys as I need to unlock him cuz wow talk about a super fun agatha esque textbox. and Phastos's text while random seems REALLY strong in surfer. Those will be my two pickups for that month for sure.
I don't typically enjoy locations like District X or Mindscape but Arishem looks like it'll be a lot more fun because it adds extra cards to your deck instead of replacing them

random cards are terrible, but you got good cards (the ones you put in) half the time, and an extra energy goes a long way to offset the bad side and to improve your already good list
i think he will have some impact in the meta if loki is ever good again

A wong, mystique, white tiger lane that plays sersi on turn 6 would presumably change all of them into 6 costs (or that 7 cost guy) after activating a few times, and if the random cards are on reveals, you would get the effects 9 different times
The fun cards in this month (12 random cards guy, Hammer guy and +1 Cost girl) seem really fun. Thanks Drewberry for getting this out DAY OF the patch.

Arishem looks like fun. I see a deck where you toss Arishem in with 11 tech cards and just tear up whatever your opponent has.
Makkari fixes one of Surfer's biggest problems which is playing your hand and filling locations. She is literally an auto-include imo.
Patch was 💩 BUT the datamine was the best part about snap today. Arishem, Phastos, and Makkari are my favorites so far. I'll be saving for that specifically.

IF Gilgamesh works with Ongoing effects (which I assume due to the lack of “permanent” condition in his On reveal), he will be insane in Zoo. If you fill 9 spots by turn 5 (which is pretty easy to do with squirrel girl and shanna), then play Blarvel on 5 and 1-drop + Gilgamesh on 6, he will be 22 power. Going wide and then extremely tall in one spot is a very good strategy.
My favorite thing about Arishem is the base art, I feel like it blows all the variants out of the water!
I think makkari could be used at least in ss decks, sometimes you dont have enough energy to play everything you want in that deck
Makkari would be pretty good in both Surfer and C3. Just a free extra body for buffs. And since you will first draw her, in the rare cases where she could screw you over (like Bar with NN) you can just play her normally to prevent that. A pretty straightforward and good card imo.
Arishem is very interesting. Most ramp decks do nothing til turn 3 if they happen to draw a ramp piece.
But with Arishem you can start playing 2 drops on turn 1 and 3 drop turn 2. I think that might be way stronger than we think.

I'd add that Forge > Brood into Gilgamesh later automatically makes him a 5/8. If you are playing Phastos you will probably want Magik for an extra draw on turn 7.

I could see Makkari working in a C3 or Valkyrie focused deck since she is free to the board. But yeah that's about it. Honestly lackluster month on both the new cards and the returning cards in caches.
I don't know how SD consistently doesn't put the cards I'm missing in the caches so I can get them but they do lol
I disagree with Sersi rating... Maybe one more star in general... For example, in junk decks that run the hood, the void, the rocks (debri), black widow, white widow, etc. she could be the mvp if you don't draw Annihilus.
I'm looking forward to trying Makkari in a destroy deck. Free 3 power to eat. Also planning to use Gilgamesh in a zoo deck. Turn 4 Ka-zar, turn 5 Gilgmesh with a boatload of boosted 1 drops could be insane.
Arishem + Pixie for ultimate chaos. That said, make a video talking about your feelings on the game. It would be good to get your thoughts out there.
Sadly Pixie only hits cards you manually added to your deck, not stuff shuffled in later.
If makari's text was 0/3: you must play this the turn you draw it & when you play this, it it is played to a random location people would think it would be broken... but I can only see it being played in a surfer deck and probably getting cut or being a lower tier version of the surfer deck
I think Makkari's target home is in hand/deck buff. So Nakia, Okoye, etc. Which with Phastos and Thena, could snowball in a surfer deck.
Gilgamesh sounds like it will synergize with ongoing buffs like Kazar and Blue Marvel. Also Silver Surfer gonna be eating good soon! Invest now

I totally misread Makkari's text. Initially I thought she read 'After each turn, run to a random location (if able)' and that sounded like a really cool option to plug into a move deck with Kraven. But now you've explained it, yeah she sounds like total crap. Also, talk about power creep on M'Baku - poor guy has less power and even he can't jump from your hand.
That said, I am super excited for Eternals. Love the characters overall, and Gilgamesh, Phastos and Thena all look like fantastic yet balanced cards. Something tells me Shadow King is going to be doing the rounds in June though!
Thena feels like just another Angela in Kitty decks. She doesn’t really inspire me to get too creative. Instead, I’m just inspired to dust off my Shadow King to poop on her.
Makkari seems overlooked a little bit. If you toss her into a Shaw style surfer deck that has things like Okoye she can grow to more than 3 power. Free cards jumping on to the board, like Proxima has shown, can be more surprising than we think. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m done underestimating “free” things
Thinking of the value of some of the bundles under $30 makes the emote costs a real slap in the face. That's 3 months' worth of season passes. That's normally 3 whole cards, some gold and credits. I closed/re-opened the game when I saw it, thought it was a bug.

Zoo is revived with Magik Blue Marvel Gilgamesh + AbsorbingMan. You don't have to worry about final turn Killmonger because Gilgamesh and AbsorbingMan is so high power, you don't even care about your 1 cost cards
Gilgamesh with Mr Negativ sounds crazy. Maybe Wong, Gilgamesh, Zola. Kinda a new Black Panther, but way cheaper.

Water(4 cost, 6 power)
Gold(6 cost, 10 power)

I've created a really fun deck that specifically revolves around adding power to cards since Sebastian Shaw came out; my big question is how Gilgamesh would interact with cards like Blue Marvel or locations like Xandar (i think that's the one) that add non-permanent power to cards.

Ongoing does work for gilgamesh because Shaw's text says Permanent power and this card does not say that. Any power so ongoing should work.
