@@TheHillsExplore we’re actually all full of cold atm so my next vlog delayed!!!! .. Me and the other half been talking and wondered if you guys fancied a meet up sometime, maybe a pub stop somewhere half way ? 🙂
Any German garage will issue the low emission sticker by presenting your vehicle licence. A test is not required. It costs between 8 - 15 €uros. Do you know that you can get cash up to € 200 free of charge when you pay by credit-card at Aldi.
Ah that’s good to know! Thank you. It was really late when we arrived so we were short on options. We didn’t think our diesel guzzling motorhome would even qualify! Found a website that may help others travelling from the UK to prepare better than we did!! www.umweltbundesamt.de/en/topics/air/particulate-matter-pm10/low-emission-zones-in-germany
Stayed on this site in August 2020. Agreed that it is ideally located for visiting Köln, and, fortunately ‘mit fahrrad’ was able to cycle in one Saturday to the Mittelstadt along the riverbank which was busy with Kölner enjoying their weekend. Well done to you for walking there and back- it was as a result of seeing the Köln scooters that inspired me to get one back in the UK and hope they would soon become legal- still waiting! Köln city centre was rather too busy for my liking in that COVID summer as social distancing didn’t seem to exist (unlike other parts of Germany) but was glad to to have visited.
Sorry just found your comment as it was stuck in limbo! We really enjoyed Koln and it felt pretty good that you must still wear masks inside and also be double vaccinated/proof of negative test etc to go in to restaurants and even the ‘Dom’. The streets weren’t too busy being a little out of peak season. Enough room for me to take my first ride on an electric scooter!!! We’d love some but as you say, they still aren’t legal yet. We are planning on e-bikes instead maybe next year …. 😊
Great video, looks like you having a great time . On our list for next year to travel Germany and surrounding countries . Will be following your travels , stay safe 👍
It’s a great country form the short week we were there. Not long enough! Spotlessly clean and the low emission zones made the cities really quite as there were only really cars. No vans or trucks to be seen mostly! Public transport is excellent too. Well worth the visit. I hope you get to go there next year 😊
Fab one guys. There’s so many parts I wanted to comment on but I forgot which ones lol. “That’s what she said “ hehe comes to mind. I must get up early for the best drone shots like you did Rick.

I did not know you can get cash back on a credit card at Aldi. That would have been a real help as cash machines seemed quite scarce
Is this site in the green zone? We are here atm with no sticker not sure if our van would qualify
