how special to have a poem read aloud at the end of a booktube video! i also really liked convenience store woman and in the dream house. the former felt like such a resonant allegory for being autistic and/or ace and/or aro, idk if that was in the author's mind but i remember seeing other bookinternet people talk about that too, it was also so much packed so well into a tiny book! dream house, man, i'm due for a reread, i was just mentally nodding along to everything you said about it. all the world beside and thin skin both sound really interesting to me, i'd never heard of either so thanks for putting them on my radar!

i'm glad you appreciated the poem at the end, i actually almost cut it out of the final edit! i love sayaka murata's works so much, i can't wait to get to reading life ceremony at some point. i also find it easy to pull those allegories from her books, and it makes me curious to investigate more about the autistic experience in Japan and maybe to read some interviews (if they exist) with Murata about her books. in the dream house was so excellent, i'm a huge fan of anything revolving around a house (haunted house, house murder mystery, house based memoir, etc lol)
