    Got it about 2 months ago.....done 2500 kms....i tell you...power is more than enough....its crazy light n nimble ..so lovely to flick around..... does good at highway speeds....120kmph ish easily..... beautiful suspension n you can really put thru the trails..... not just good for new riders but I think a great weapon for experienced mature riders too.....compliments my other ride Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 perfectly (done 50k kms on it already) ..jus love it

I spent around $650 changing some parts .. at 20 K I have problem in rear check absorber.. the price is very expensive from the agency. But I fix one from aftermarket very cheap .. I installed quick shifter.. I used it as touring ,in city and off-road.. powerful bike if beautiful bike good looking.. maximum speed with wind without the (planners) side bag .. 171 km ..

    Very helpful this one, booked the bike and was really hoping to get an honest version of review. Expectations are similar, not a biggie but then hey, if more money is spent on the bike, you have to let go off the adventure and sit tight to earn more. It's best to get a light weight adventure bike and head off. Thanks again.

    Great video thank you, Had the Versys 300 X traded it in for the KTM 390 Adventure and very glad I did, great bike on and off road, Versy great bike until you hit the highway rev way to high for me and starts to drink a lot of gas over 90 Km and that is going 1 up on the front sprocket, before that started drinking gas over 80 Km . I find the KTM much better on the highway, and gravel and dirt roads. Like the suspension a lot more, and the Versys seat started to get very bad after a while, the KTM a lot better but only have 3,500 + Km so far. From what I have seen there is nothing in the same class as the KTM 390 Adventure it just has so much more to offer than the other small ADV bikes. Have not tried the BMW 310 but from the videos I have seen it seems to be under powered compared to the KTM and Honda. I also wonder why you think the BMW 310 would be better on the highway than the KTM as the videos I seen put the KTM 390 as better on the highways as a lot more get up and go. It would be nice to see a video with the KTM 390 Adventure the Versys 300 X and the BMW 310 side by side all round riding, on the same tires, like the Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires. to make it a fair comparison, I have them on my KTM and getting a set for the DR650 a great on and off road tire with long life. What you need it you are starting out on a long ADV tour. Not much worse than having to sit around waiting for tires part way though your trip.

    A very nice review, I am in the market for my first bike and am torn between this and the 390duke. The duke seems to offer a bit more "fun" (and looks better imho) while this offers a bit more comfort. I will not likely do any off-roading, more bendy roads and touring so would this be a better fit vs the Duke?
    Thanks

    • @kenhoward3512
      @kenhoward3512 4 года назад

      I'd say the 390Duke would be fine for someone shorter. Someone taller would fit better on this 390ADV, with its taller seat and longer wheelbase. 'Better check them both out.

      Well the logic used in that statement was that it's been in production for nearly 3 decades, not many OEM's will keep a motor in production that long (they will lose money) if there are fundamental problems. 👍😁

    •  4 года назад

      @@NothingToProve Are you sure about those 3 decades? With my research it seams they introduced this engine in 2013 in collaboration with Bajaj. KTM does have a lot of experience making single cylinders though.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  4 года назад

      Just because it's not on Wikipedia does not mean it didn't exist. And I also said in different iterations, that means different sizes and in different bikes that KTM has made over the last 3 decades. Like for example the RC 390 goes way back but wikipedia says 2014 is when they started but yet I was watching them lap me during track days in 2004. So was I doing drugs in 2004 while doing track days? Or is this proof that you will have to do some deeper "research" to find what I am referring too. :)
      Take my statements for what they are and if you disagree, find the proof and correct me, simply because I really want to have the correct knowledge/facts in my head.
      Don't cast doubt without proof, that's what "the Donald" does and that is...

    Great review Scott. The 390 is a great little versatile engine. I woulds suggest its not only good for beginners but also older guys who want the thrill of thrashing a bike without the break neck speeds. I punt an rc390 at our local club races and its a blast. Im in my mid 50s so my reaction times are not what they used to be. its fast enough to give you a thrill, handles like a gp bike, but not intimidating at all. The joy of wringing its neck to get that last ounce of performance is one of lifes great pleasures. Heres a video link of my 390 at the track Thank you for the great reviews Scott, your format and review style is spot on. keep it up! ruclips.net/video/QZ0vddCHFe4/видео.html
