Just found your video. Been making Scrunchies since the 80's. I too ALWAYS folded down one end of tube first. Makes closing so much easier. Never understood why others didn't. I too put pin in elastic to keep from slipping through.

The length of the fabric is 6cm so how inches did you use to sew the fabric???
I sew 1 cm (3/8 inches) from the edge☺️❤️
Hi, I read one of your comments and you said the fabric is 126cm= 49inches? In this video it does not look that long. Maybe I’m missing something

What type of elastic are you using? Is there a particular type for comfort?
I use a typical elastic band and I just use proper length for my head😊😊
The comfort you are talking comes from the length of the elastic,if it's too tight on your head,you can increase the length of the elastic.(before sewing it in,that might also add a little length to the fabric too.)

Length of fabric is probably 28 inches and with 3 inches
fabric is 126 x 6 cm ( 49 5/8 inches x 2 3/8 inches )
Elastic is 1.5 x 58 cm ( 5/8 inches x 22 7/8 inches )

Finished size is 54 cm and my head circumference is around 58 cm (which is average size for adult)💖😍

The fabric we use is satin crepe but I don’t know about the weight.☺️
