I admire your courage, it’s a breath of fresh air. Before you keep the habit, you need keying using your wrist on a straight key. Should be your whole forearm while your hand lightly grips the knob. More control and less risk of a repetitive strain injury.
Fantastic presentation and excellent advice! I appreciate that you are left handed and operate your key with your right hand. I’m willing to bet that you are a musician. I’m a musician but operate my key left handed and write with my right. I’ve just found it easier that way.
Great video, Lidi! Congrats on the zm-2. The tuner should open up many antenna possibilities! One of my personal favorites is an end fed random wire directly into the tuner, no coax, no unun - they work great! My goto sota setup. There are many options. Trail Friendly is a great antenna as well! Thanks for making these videos. 73 de N4AAJ
If you plan to operate your EFHW on non-resonant RF bands while using the ZM-2 ATU, then you may wish to remove the UNUN and connect the antenna wire (along with a counterpoise wire) directly to the ZM-2. In this way you will eliminate losses from the UNUN and just deal with losses in the ZM-2. The ZM-2 should be able to handle impedances on 15 meters and 17 meters without the UNUN. Every watt counts in QRP! Thanks and 73 de AE5ZX
Oh BTW, I prefer the cw sound of a straight key. A more classic sound compared with an iambic paddle. I am just old fashioned about this or perhaps I am just an old fossil! 😊
I am very happy with it. I have had DX contacts many times as well while using it. It is light and small. It works well with my short mast as well. You can access other bands with an antenna tuner. It is resonant at 10/20/40. Hope to make contact with you too. 73
Great job, Lidi! Novice CW POTA activators should watch this to ease their anxiety. Nicely done as always.
Great job, Lidi! I love the personable side of your videos. Keep them coming! 😉 ~AA4SB
I can’t wait for more of your activations with Ed. 🥰
Looks like a great weekend kit project! It's great your sharing what your saying on CW, I think a lot of us forgot most people don't know CW 😅

Great stuff as always Lidi. Very informative about the specifics of the tuner. Thank you!

Lidi, are you happy with the antenna you are using, the LnR? Just wondering. Thank You

That operator should have matched your CQ speed. Kind of rude, IMHO.
i'd like to respond to you !!😃🤘
