A trick I learned as a kid growing up on an island was to use logs as rollers or skids if you need to get your boat into the water. Slimy driftwood or green logs work best. Even if the beach is too soft to roll on the logs they still reduce friction enough to make it slide. It’s surprising how heavy a boat can be moved by a couple of scrawny kids hoping not to have to tell their dad that they got the boat stuck up on the beach.
I appreciate the details, look at 0:48, no footprints! Andy went around the field of view of where he wanted to set up his camera shot just so he would have fresh sand to jump in for the shot, what a bloke
Here’s one of my massive lost fish. I was out on my boat at Tiwi islands, around 1 or 2km away from the island, in like 7 metres of water. I was using my Diawa aird setup, a 5000 size reel, and a 4 to 8 kg rod to jig a big 60g jig and a extra assist hook. I was slow jigging because being a 11 year old boy, I got tired. Then, when we were just about to go, I was reeling up, then my reel screamed about 200 metres of line straight off. I tighten my drag, and put my hand on the reel to slow it down, then it breaks. I fell back. My prediction is that it was a massive Spanish Mackie or Wahoo. Damn it. I was devastated
Thanks for giving us a shutout Andy. Was great catching up with you and Ned the other day. I didn’t realise the awning you were building at home was that big. You have been busy!
Thanks Andy, you have done me a big favour, this is the other spot we were planning to camp, including the island, in May. Looks better than on Google maps. Last time I was up there a bloke who lives near the boat ramp told me if I go out to where you lost your lure and fish in the deep water just out from the rock face, use 80 pound hand line and hang on. He said they catch massive Parrot there and sometimes 8o pound isn't heavy enough. I don't have hand lines but watching you lose your lure reminded me of what he said .Great video, love the beach camping you do.
dude i binge watch this channel before i go to sleep lol.... i like the cooking parts, the fishing, and exploration..my favorite thing is watching you catch and cook stuff though
Hi Andy your anchor problem at night can be over come by having a looped rope with an anchor at either end with a pully at each anchor one in the deeper water one on shore attach the boat with a loop on the bow where the two ends connect each other . You can pull your boat in and out as you wish draw on a peace of paper what i have described and I'm shore you will understand .This method has been a good way to keep dry in big tides. Pass it on to your audience if you think it can be useful to them MV Joy-C
Hey Andy another awesome video I’m trying to make more videos but with my own twist your my dream shoutout guy even though I know it won’t happen I’ve been watching for over a year now and I’m hoping I get to go on that trip with you
@@Andysfishing if you use a net with stones out in the sea and a louped anchor rope back to shore with the boat connected to a stopper float - you don't need to check on your boat every 10 mins. in the morning just pull one of the ropes on your loup and the boat will come to shore.
I really enjoyed this video although you caught no keeper it had everything needed to make my day: Mouth watering cooking, fascinating creatures and the beautiful nature of Australia. Thank you for that! You said critical comments are more informative for you so here is a small critic: The scenes were you jumped in front of the camera seemed a bit unnatural, but I'm impressed how you kept up your positive attitude! All the best from Germany, Maximilian.
Hey Andy Awesome video my Friend I really love the Solo Camping and Fishing videos Andy !! And Thanks as always Andy for making these awesome videos for us to watch next week and for always inspiring me to keep on Fishing as an Angler and for helping me continuing to Exploring Nature and the wonders of the World 🌍 I look Forward on hopefully going on this amazing Trip with you Andy 😉😉 Fingers Crossed 🤞 and I wish you all the Best Andy and I look 👀 Forward to hearing from you Cheers WILLIAM
Love the channel. Wish I had the opportunities to “catch and cook” as you do in Australia. Living at the Jersey Shore in America, camping at the beach and firing up the grill violates about 111 laws and will get you 3-5 years in prison!
getting better every video. A couple question if i may - how long did you stay in that camp do you stop and say "hello" to fellow captains, crews i never see the pneumatophores for your mangroves. Are they much different than ours ? There are STRICT laws regarding ours. And as you are superb with genus, species, and conservation, have you ever shown and discussed the vital importance of the pneumatophores in a video. I'm catching up. Been mad busy here, and enjoying watching 3 and 4 videos new to me. I entered your survey early. I should let you know for now, I am crippled, get around, but may noy be able to cover each adventure should you choose our amazing barrier islands. I missed the "danger" factor. The "tropical" weather season here on the coast is 6 months long, June to December. And we get some SPECTACULAR storms. Not for a novice camper or faint at heart. I have survived dozns. And each one is a new and Massive rush. If the weather doesn't scare you, crocs obviously don't either... as long as you know what n where to look for. We have 14-16 foot gators out there. Really something to behold. Sharks, bull, white and black tip reefs, steadily patrol the sub tidal zone where it meets the beach, or intertidal zone. Snakes, scorpions, (rare, but there) as well. And the Atlantic Bottle Nose Dolphins are an incredible nature show by themselves Blue crab, and softshell, what you fished with, prawns, count 100-200 a pound. We toss cast nets for bait, and some of the shrimp range most commonly 21 to a pound, all the way up to 9-12 to a pound, 7-8 inches, uh huh. So much more i hope this wasn't too long. Mississippi Gulf Coast USA ~rad~
Man I’d have been blowing chunks on that boat bouncing around like that😳 makes me nervous even watching it lol , I admire your efforts Andy and appropriate your fab vids thanks 👍
That's my fav camp spot up there andy haha, few dingos live out there.. good oysters east of ya camp n sometimes big whiting behind mangroves. Keep it up mate love ya vids 🤙🏽
Can you do another camping vid and food chain in the bush/rainforest? P.S. I challenge you to find as much bush tucker in your area as possible from fruits to vegetables to animals.
Are the tackle club boxes available in the US? I love that you are using a wide variety of lures. Most other vids just use the same ones every time, great video
Bad day fishing is better than a good day working
I guess for Andy that a day at work and fishing are the same thing 😂
Anyone else click instantly? Ps. Love your camping and fishing videos!

Ha ha, funny story and good point. I’ll remember that tip.
Great vid Andy thanks. I reckon catching a fish is just a bonus when I am with Mother Nature.
It sure is.

Yes I had the same thought, I’m going to try a bungee system first much simpler and less space
Thanks for the heads up on the Drifta gear I had no idea about being able to get the Drifta gear here 👍
No problem 👍 Richard and Shannon are great people.
These videos are the highlight of my week. Keep them up!

I had hoped for bigger fish
Good on ya andy Cracking video bud ! Always
Cheers
Great video mate awesome view thanks for nice advice about the fish lures.
My pleasure thanks for watching
Great set up!!!
It sure is, only a comfy mattress missing.
I use a canvas bag filled with sand for my beach anchor. Dig it in a bit. I have found high wind can drag the sea anchor
Great idea, and very light too

Yes, I was going to use a setup like that, but had another idea. 😉
Good video Andy!

I like red peppers better than the green ones 🤣🇦🇺 love your passion for fishing camping and fooding,👍🏾
It’s funny so do I they have different flavours but they’re the same fruit

Yeah Sundays fishing isn’t as good as others at least my next episode had more than two many fish in it
@@Andysfishing I'm looking forward to watch it!
You decided to take the big boat out this time.👍
Yes, way too rough for the kayak

Great to have you on board.
Keep up the awesome content!
Thanks, will do
Hi mate. Are you able to explain how to manage to cope with the midges? For those like myself, are magnet to midges.
Watch my next video next week. There's only bandaids...

Ha ha that was quite long, yes you definitely have some interesting and great fishing over there. I do hope to come back sometime
great video andy congrats on 200k

maybe a little hand winch would be great for pulling the boat back out, run it off the anchor. thanks so much for your content, your vids are bliss :)
I’ll be trying a little bundle next time

Is it that the world is so small or is it that Andy's Fishing and Wild cook is so HUGE??????
Great vids! Best wishes from cali!!!
Never clicked faster on a vid. Thanks heaps for the quality content mate 👍
That’s my pleasure
Man! I was looking forward to u going to the same spots with heavy gear. Better luck next time!
I had to heavy gear but it was too rough to fish out there
@@Andysfishing Yes :) I meant I was looking forward to this video, but no luck, and as u said it was too rough. You'll get them next time :)
Have you ever tried an anchor bungee so you don't have to constantly move your boat?
Ha ha. I just made a couple this afternoon.
Super ich habe gerade nach geschaut ob es was neues gibt
Yes I’m sorry it’s one day late
Hey Andy I notice you tie on directly, what are the benefits as apposed to using a swivel clip?
One less week point.
stay safe andy
Yes always
Awesome video mate, great campsite and some quality camp gear there as well. Love the igt set up 👍👍🤠.
Cheers Shad
It sure makes camping glam
Hi Andy! What happened to make you comfortable sleeping on land while your boat remains anchored?
I like to mix it up sometimes
The problem I have with DRIFTA is that the gear I want to buy is always out of stock!. James.
Great video Andy it was very entertaining to watch can wait for next weeks video also are you still saving to get a bigger boat.
Thanks. I keep looking at different boats and different ways to get there. So yes.
I had to take time off or lose it. What did I do? I wanted to watch your vids........warm vibes heading your way
Everything in moderation
Great video mate love them was a little bit choppy out there
Sure was until I found shelter

Often I have a backup plan
Andy great videos as always.. What kind of knot do you use to tie lures on? Could you demonstrate it in your next video please?? 🔥🔥🔥
I have done a few times, I don't want to bore people with it, look up loop knot
Where did you get that fold away bbq from ?
It’s from Drifta check out the video description
Great video Andy, don’t know what it is but your looking a lot younger must be because your back on your boat
What about my short hair?
I know it looks great
Duuude. I was searching just now for this week video and boom. Lol
Yeah I couldn’t get it up earlier because I haven’t found it yet
Is there a reason you avoid snap swivels?
Yes, they undo often
Hi mate what do think about a swag instead of a tent?
I’ve never been able to sleep in a swag they’re too restrictive and just feel wrong for me
Finally 😍😍
Every week, just a day late.
Hy Andy try to just reel the Storm Jig in without any twitching
Cheers, I did that too.

It’s a very nice spot, shame people have left rubbish in the past. Maybe see you there one day.
Please camp on the beach in the background when you said see if we can get it down the back here.
And do some night fishing
Sounds an interesting idea.
Hey Andy do you have a fridge or do you just take an esky/ice on these trips? Cheers
I do have a travelling fridge but I don’t take it on the boat it would get to corroded so just ice bottles in my esky
May I have a link to the tongs that you were using with the BBQ please?
You’ll find them on the Drifta website, link in description.
Is the aird combo sold at ottos tackle world?
Not sure
Can you do another camping vid and food chain in the bush/rainforest?
