Picked up a exotic gem for 50 bucks just to try it after watching this video, and EVERYTHING you stated is completely true. I they it would be a good 1-2 punch with my Ebonite Polaris but NO.... I got more down lane motion from my from my hammer raw hybrid.....

Right on hih! Got a good look at it from you and the boys. Looks like this is for the average rev rate bowlers. Probably a great ball for most players, but the higher rev guys aren’t going to be happy with it at all. Its almost like you need 70 feet for this to release to roll properly if you have higher rev.

I was the dummy that bought the original Gem and I’m stuck with it lol i have since polished it and it’s still blah blah it’s just not the rock for me but that 3D offset you was throwing was legit
I'm a high rev high speed bowler and this ball is nasty! With the reactagloss it was pure slime, hot garbage. Just knock the reactagloss off and it comes to life, big asym pearl that I can bend the lane with.
@hihbowling all the balls I've got with reactagloss starts off pure trash and feels like I'm throwing plastic. I just knock off the reactagloss or even resurface to storms old 1500 polished finish

Ive never seen you make the early rolly core balls like this look good. Ive seen lower rev and high axis tilt guys throw the gems where I live and they look really good for them. Otherwise, the gems more useful if you bowl a tournament on a really long oil pattern where you need a ball to dig in early.
It has the early part but not the motion in the back. It's pretty much urethane at that point.
I had my driller use a 4000 pad. It was not as predictable with the original surface. Used it the last two games of league. Bowled my worst game (149). Wanted to change ball but stayed with it. Ended up bowling my highest game of season (276).
Nice game. I got a few shots out of it. On to the next...lol

To be honest, I thought this ball was gonna look better, but I guess not. The ball just seems to be quite temperamental in terms of rolling out for high rev players. A few times it would grab the lane and go, but a lot of the time it didn't hold energy to really hook off of the end of the pattern.

@@hihbowling I took the reactagloss nastiness off the shell and left it at 2000 and that ball turned into straight FIRE. First game after doing so was 259 without having to fight the will it or won't it.

I have two different exotic gems, couldn’t do anything with them on Monday since the house I was at is so inconsistent but used them both again tonight and both couldn’t miss, two different layouts, one with the thumb away from the mass bias and immediately took that down to 2000, and the other one I have the thumb in the mass bias itself with the box surface, I was able to start with one and ball down to the other tonight, for overall 712, and I do have high speed and like you do and only a slightly lower rev rate
Looks like it worked on the one thing they can be used on.....lol
@@hihbowlingsome covers and cores just don’t fit with certain people, the Gem line just doesn’t fit with what your trying to play but looking at what I’m seeing from you and your style a ball I can safely recommend would be the Fate so something akin to it.
1. I need to order one of those jerseys. 2. As a down and in bowler, I like my Gem. Been thinking about getting the exotic but will wait until I get the Phase V at the TAT and see if I need it.

I loved the original Defiant series. The Gem after tweaking the core and going to stronger covers straight up pukes every time. The Exotic only looks slightly better. The 3D Attack and Mythic Jackal look so much better.
Facts! I liked the OG Degiant too. We're actually going backwards in bowling technology.
Not much room for error with this ball. The lefty had the best look with it. Still had to hit his mark perfectly, one board left and it came in flat, one board right and it was going high or through the nose. Either a very tough pattern or the ball is finicky as hell

@@hihbowling YOOOHOOH, so I wanted to get at least 2 weeks in with this unnamed ball lmao, like you 1st house very forward was like damn J is right. 1st time touching rhe lanes 530 high game 212 .Thurs league different house (both AMF) 620 high game 232. Back to 1st house the following week moved inside threw across 20 out to about 10 oh my... 660 high game 259 2nd frame I pulled it but 10 back all the way to 10th frame, messenger had wrong address.... so for me if I go up5 it's very forward and locks up early. It's not as good as my Proton but I was seeing some similarities. Infinite right now is too angular for league and my Hype pearl is my ball down 💰 maker...sorry so long but love your dope reviews and perspectives bruh!

I think the new storm polish is just not good for some people.

I appreciate the honesty, but my experience with the Exotic Gem hasnt been the same.
Did you try resetting the factory finish? The ball turned to life for me after i hit it with a 1500 TruCut Pad and then applied TruCut polish.
It's not your stereotypical pearl because of the MicroTrax cover. Since you disliked the Zen, it makes sense why you didn't match with this.
It seems like both Gems are pretty much exclusively for speed dominant bowlers. My Game Breaker Asym looks more aggressive.

@@hihbowling I've been watching people throw it the last week. A lot of different styles... You're right, the ball starts up really early. It's a good ball for low rev players that need the help. For others, it rolls out.

I used to throw SPI exclusively. Then I bought a 3d offset overseas ball and my eyes were opened. My issue (as of late with SPI) is how clean/over under their covers are. It appears everything with "nano" is just way too much ball. For GOAT pearl asym. I am interested in that new Katana

You have to take off the reacta gloss. The new polish sucks.
I fought for polish again from SPI. My 2nd Hyped Pearl came with it on it and it's $$$. The Gem line is just a no go for me.
I agree but the new polish is no good. I had to put my exotic to 1500 polished, and it opened up that ball. For me it was good for 5 shots then the polish mad the ball act like you’re a urethane.

@@hihbowling I wasn't even surprised. My expectations for this ball were already low. All this new technology blah blah blah. My twenty year old pieces still can hold their own on today's conditions and leave this stuff in the dust. I haven't felt excitement over a new ball in years.

Eubanks! Sorry bro but have to completely disagree with you on the Exotic Gem. I got mine last week and bowled a 248 on my first game out the box. Ball had hook and was very easy to control. Can't judge a ball on 5 shots if that's what you did. IMO, this ball is a MUST!

@@hihbowling Totally makes sense… I think you are just too much man and hand for super strong forward rolling cores and/or solid cover balls (esp. if they are not polished.)
With all your revs you don’t need all the help they are deigned to give low and medium rev bowlers who struggle to get traction. For you, they simply use up all the energy way too fast and have nothing left on the back end. It gives way you less room for error in a house shot.

Ball is disgusting for mid to low rev rate. 400+ rev guys don’t care for it. Mine at 300 revs in the track area is disgusting. Shot 767 out of the box.

Only had it for 2 weeks and already had 2 runs at perfect games with it. Keep in mind that it's quite early for a pearl and Reacta Gloss sucks
